Hi all, first a short intro about myself - I am a recent (and proudOriginally posted by rameshap View Post...

) owner of Honda Twister in Bangalore.Bought it second hand, Nov 2010 model. This is my first post, though I am not so new to this site. Thanks everyone for sharing so much useful info here, which has helped me to make the decision to purchase this bike.
I just wanted to share my experience on point 7 by rameshap - yesterday my bike went to reserve mode and immediately i started experiencing some problem with pickup -like the bike is not responding to throttle and engine 'missing' is there. I panicked and went to a workshop (I am a noob biker) expecting some engine repair. The guy listened to the bike sound for sometime, then simply opened the seat cover and removed the cleaning cloth I kept there, which was blocking the air pipe. I felt like a fool, really
! It was just a coincidence that the bike went to reserve mode and the cloth somehow moved and blocked the air pipe.
Shows how important small things can be...!Honda CB Twister

Hi, welcome to the forum. That pipe is connected to air filter suction.many people often arrive at service station with something or other stuck in that pipe like cloth, raincoat etc.this is becoming common habit now a days.in my case the bike document papers tied to rubber strap under the seat somehow came out loose and blocked the hole.....luckily i discovered it myself & saved a trip to service station. by the way you can keep the cleaning cloth in the hole near side flaring on both sides....see the picture under my name.Originally posted by Comskian View PostHi all, first a short intro about myself - I am a recent (and proud

Thanks Sachin. Yes, I have seen one Twister today which keeps the cloth there. Will follow that method :-)Originally posted by sachin1111 View Post... by the way you can keep the cleaning cloth in the hole near side flaring on both sides....see the picture under my name.Honda CB Twister

Advice
Hey ya all.. hav been inactive for a while now.. was quite busy.. anyway i bought a second Twister
(got a second hand one , with 1300kms on the ODO ) .. was impressed with the mileage (80+) the first one gave so got another for my brother.
Now i need some help in deciding which Remote Security to add.. ROOTS ? MINDA ? or XENOS ?
If you hav pics of the ones you hav installed could you pls post it
and also diffrences.. XENOS seems cheapest at just under 1k but to me seems all hav similar feature.. but Remote Start/Stop is a must

I Use Minda,,it has remote start feature, con if u start using remote then u have to turn off using remote... Turning off ignition will not turn off bike.

yeah! noticed that . remote on thn only remote off.. btw got Minda .. find it better thn the Roots Gladiator of my CBR .. now i feel i should get a minda for the cbr too :P.. and will move the gladiator to the other twister :P.. but found for 50rs more than ROOTS minda offers another year(2yrs) warranty.. also build seems better than ROOTS..Originally posted by rameshap View PostI Use Minda,,it has remote start feature, con if u start using remote then u have to turn off using remote... now i hav a question regarding the wiring aspects .. what roles do the Pink and Grey do ?? coz i to me it seems they hav not really been connected anywhere .. the technician just cut the excess !

Mileage ??
ALso i noticed this Twister returns only 65 -73 KMPL as opposed to the my other twister that gives me 85-97 Kmpl on the same roads with the smae riding style..
any ideas to wht may i do to matchup the figures ?? and can anyone guide me through the fuel/air mix setup on the carb ? wich screw where which direction thingy ??

Air fuel mixture screw is on left hand side while idle screw in on right hand side.both screws can be accessed using a long nose screw driver cum electric tester.... without opening the side covers. I do not think changing default factory setting will help much unless it has been wrongly set by service guy. I have fiddled with that AFR screw for last one year and after nearly hundred tries and test rides got it to perfection..but even after that the mileage improvement is just about 3-4 kmpl when compared to factory setting position.I have observed many new Twister kept in showroom and All twisters have exactly same AFR screw position markings.your mileage of 63-73 is not bad at all so i would suggest not to fiddle with it...because there are good chances of mileage getting worse along with starting and idling problems creeping in.instead you can try changing the Air filter & spark plug and see if it works. how many KM has the bike run so far?Originally posted by 2wtourer View PostALso i noticed this Twister returns only 65 -73 KMPL as opposed to the my other twister that gives me 85-97 Kmpl on the same roads with the smae riding style..
