rajaselvam, i am also thinking of changing the sprockets in few months time...whats the cost of sprockets? my front tyre got punctured last week for the first time after 16k....got it fixed but its loosing air faster then before..while the rear tyre is still working quite well.Originally posted by rajaselvam_1987 View PostGuys i've changed my chain sprocket last week. And connected my 4A horn directly to battery with the help of relay so now horn also not crying..Now horn blows exactly as in cars so even trucks also giving way to me
..
Why don't we try DY chain guard with twister...? it's easy job only some nuts have to weld on the swing-arm

Guys,
I am going to give the bike for second service, but don't want to give it in the service center, instead will give it to a known mechanic. I know that it may void warranty if we do outside.
What things to be checked during the 2nd service. Can I go for synthetic oil, if so how much I should buy and what model.
Please provide your suggestions.

I changed mine a few months back. It's some where around Rs1200 (chain and 2 sprockets together). Regarding air leak, it happened to me and I removed the puncher sealing and did it again. But it failed again after a few months. Eventually I changed the tyreOriginally posted by sachin1111 View Postrajaselvam, i am also thinking of changing the sprockets in few months time...whats the cost of sprockets? my front tyre got punctured last week for the first time after 16k....got it fixed but its loosing air faster then before..while the rear tyre is still working quite well.

gopi, there is no need for synthetic oil at this stage.....you can try synthetic after 5k.It is better to use Honda 10W30 mineral oil for first 5000km. An 800ml Honda bottle is sufficient for a oil change...and if oil filter is cleaned then 900ml oil is required. to know the list of things to be checked during each service.....there is a maintenance chart given on user manual..check page 42-43. in that there are columns with letters such as I, C, R. where I= inspect , C= clean , R= replace. you need to carry out I,C,R according to Km reading or time period whichever comes first. i would suggest you spend some time in understanding that chart...so you will have less worry in mind as you know what is to be done and when and thus much less dependent on Honda ASC.Originally posted by gopinathann View PostGuys,

i am riding my Twister for last 2 years and for first free services i used Honda Oil but after that i am using Castrol 20 W 40 and this is letting me run smooth as always without a hitch in machine.Originally posted by gopinathann View PostGuys,

Hi Guys, took a test ride of the twisty yesterday. actually two test rides, one on my friend's bike and the other on showroom vehicle.. difference was, showroom vehicle was giving jerks whenever i tried to accelerate slowly after crossing a pothole or hump, but friend's bike was running smoothly ( i mean pick up ), and when i asked him, he said he had been using extra premium fuel and hence the difference.. now twisty doesn't need extra premium is it? (in terms of "necessity" ) or is it that it can make such a huge difference ?? or was the showroom TD vehicle not maintained properly ?

Yesterday, I tested my bike's mileage in the high-way. Kept the speed at 50kmph all the way. And the result surprised me again. It's 84kmpl
. Bike is 2 years and 29000kms old.The high profile and sticky tyres didn't hit the mileage.

I had also received 84kmpl when tested over a distance of 200km+ distance at 40-50km/hr speed after second service. its not surprising at all as many are reporting such great mileage figure.one thing that always try to do is use engine breaking as much as possible instead of frequent brake...this means you are using much less throttle which saves lot of fuel.Originally posted by vinayakbharadwaj View Post84?! you sure are lucky sir, my friend's twister's highest has been 74..with no modifications whatsoever.. er, can you tell about your driving style ?

showroom vehicle being a test vehicle is always abused and used harshly during test rides...so its possible that its not in a good working condition.Honda has not said anything about using high octane fuel like extra premium for twister...a normal fuel is what is required and it runs smoothly on normal fuel as well..using extra premium can give you a feeling of slightly better pick up and smoother feeling from engine.Originally posted by vinayakbharadwaj View PostHi Guys, took a test ride of the twisty yesterday. actually two test rides, one on my friend's bike and the other on showroom vehicle.. difference was, showroom vehicle was giving jerks whenever i tried to accelerate slowly after crossing a pothole or hump, but friend's bike was running smoothly ( i mean pick up ), and when i asked him, he said he had been using extra premium fuel and hence the difference.. now twisty doesn't need extra premium is it? .. the mileage figures you have quoted might very well help my dad lean towards Twister, he's been going on about Yuga and Discover for their exceptional mileage figures.
I really hope the twisty's a VFM...

Vinayak, I put petrol for Rs50 (0.71 L) and rode it at a constant speed of 50~ on the highway. it turned reserve after 60kms(reserve to reserve). But it cannot be considered as a real mileage. Because I never ride at 50 on the highway. I don't have that patienceOriginally posted by vinayakbharadwaj View Post84?! you sure are lucky sir, my friend's twister's highest has been 74..with no modifications whatsoever.. er, can you tell about your driving style ?
. It was just the sake of testing how much max mileage the bike can give. I get only 50 - 55 in the town in the stop and go traffic.
