Re: MotoGP 2013 Season - Updates
So it was a surprise for them, well I knew the clash won't happen it Rossi is fast enough to trouble Jorge.
Yamaha expected more tension between Rossi and Lorenzo - | Motorcycle Sport | MotoGP News | MotoGP Results | MCN
Some promising words by the HRC president on the production racer:
I’ve no doubt a top level rider on some circuits could be in the top six with the production bike. If Casey (Stoner) rode one maybe he can win at Phillip Island (laughs).

Re: MotoGP 2013 Season - Updates
oh, missed that news somehow..good stuff then, mv agusta team has been doing alright in their first year in WSS this year..Originally posted by Dinesh.P View PostI think probably he wont be riding a Yamaha when he gets promoted to WSBK he tested MV Augusta bike and Yakhnich Motorsports considering MV Augusta factory supported machine over the Yamaha....
in any case, i think he'll shift to moto2 either this year if he can grab a decent ride in moto2 and somehow get out of the contract with yakhnikh or very likely after his 2 yr WSS deal ends at 2014..

Rossi is starting a Moto 3 team come 2014. Probably will move upto Moto 2 and MotoGP once he retires in a few years time. Good business sense.Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Re: MotoGP 2013 Season - Updates
Yeh read about that some time ago, but I guess with the new ranch and interaction increasing with new riders, the plan is starting to come together for the legend. Let's see how it goes in the coming years. Unless his riders are fast and smart enough I guess Marc will continue to be the centre of attraction.Just because you haven't seen it doesnt mean its impossible...expect the unexpected.

Re: MotoGP 2013 Season - Updates
according to motomatters (http://www.motomatters.com/news/2013..._hayden_l.html),
"Aspar will continue with Aprilia, after a brief flirtation with running the leased Yamahas, and after losing their Power Electronics sponsorship for 2014 (the Spanish company has shifted their focus to soccer), they have become a de facto Aprilia factory team. Aprilia will be providing a completely revised bike, featuring an engine with pneumatic valves, possibly a seamless gearbox, and a brand new chassis. The team will be entered as a non-factory entry for 2014, using the spec software while they continue to work on reducing fuel consumption, which would allow them to prepare for a switch to factory status in 2015, running their own custom software. "
well, thats a good prospect and direction. aprilia thinking of entering as a factory team even as early as 2015. suzuki already set for 2015. so that's 2 more manufacturers in factory format 2015.
assuming both suzuki and aprilia are able to bag competitive riders in 2015, i expect them both to be equal to, if not better than, all ducatis right in 2015 itself
..suzuki's tests have been going well already and that's just in the hands of RdP as their test rider (good rider, but not nearly a top level anymore i suppose). aprilia CRT beating satellite ducatis every now and then already (riders all almost equivalent i guess), and nearly beating even factory ducatis often..the ultra slow pace that the ducati's are improving, if at all, is probably not enough to save themselves from getting beaten by factory aprilias and suzukis ridden by equivalently competitive riders in 2015. lol
and also, eugene laverty in aprilia aspar as well...i expect him to do very good enough in 2014 and with factory aprilia in 2015. lots of silly season happening.Last edited by aditya_YZF-R15; 09-22-2013, 12:59 AM.

Re: MotoGP 2013 Season - Updates
^^Amazing compilation..gives the feeling of nostalgia. Thanks for posting nadz11.ns.
Espargaro looks to take advantage of Redding:
Marc VDS Racing Team’s Redding still has a 23-point gap to Espargaro at the top, though will be looking to improve over his Misano performance which saw the Brit struggle somewhat on his Kalex. This was partly due to ‘arm pump’ in his right forearm, formally known as compartment syndrome, on which he has since had surgery. He will be able to race in Aragon, though will not be at 100% fitness. Espargaro looks to have found some race-craft and arguably some patience, as he stalked Takaaki Nakagami until the final laps to then take the win last time out.Last edited by R-series; 09-23-2013, 05:57 PM.Just because you haven't seen it doesnt mean its impossible...expect the unexpected.

Yamaha might retain Lorenzo and Rossi for 2015 and 2016?
Patience key for Pol Espargaro

Re: MotoGP 2013 Season - Updates
I posted an article where Lin Jarvis expressed his insecurity about Jorge saying that they will have to give him a competitive package for next year in order to retain the 2010 world Champ beyond 2014. With Marc and Jorge being the only forces to fight for the championship, Honda certainly would target him beyond 2014 making a guaranteed 2015 championship investment. and we all know that Honda can always offer enough money to strong riders. It's going to be interesting next season with contracts expiring and new signups affecting performance and results near or beyond half way point

Re: MotoGP 2013 Season - Updates
can you please post the article where you read that ?
i'd read some articles (in motomatters and mcn) saying that he is interested in continuing with yamaha further and that he wants to end his motogp career with yamaha (something he has said several times in the last few years actually)..however that he wants to keep his options open whenever the time of contracts comes up.
repsol honda will obviously be very inclined to bag lorenzo...99 and 93 in one team is a superteam.

Re: MotoGP 2013 Season - Updates
It looks quite attractive to have 2 top riders but, Repsol Honda 'll look to keep MM as no. 1 which means that whoever rides the 2nd RCV 'll be a step son. MM is going to be the blue-eyed golden boy. Lorenzo knows this and more than anything else, ke knows that RCV is very different from M1 and changing the bike acc. to his strength is going to be an uphill struggle. He is more calm and clinical in his ways and IMO, won't be wild and jump off the Yamaha. He joined Yamaha in 2008 and it 'll be 2014 when the current contract ends. By now, he knows what the nuts and bolts are doing underneath him. He 'll not try something new.
In 2007, Alonso and Hamilton raced for McLaren - very fast and competitive drivers under one roof. They battled a lot on track and the team didn't intervene. Kimi walked away with the championship. It was a narrow finish.

Well, the post from MCN also means that Yamaha 'll be ready to provide Eps Jr. a factory support if he performs well. However, he might continue to have Monster girls even after that.
