Re: MotoGP 2014 Season - Updates

This would certainly add some spice to the upcoming season.
So if Marc for any reason is penalized for his actions the last race in 2014, he carries that over to next year with the chance of disqualification or starting from back of the grid.

and I was surprised not to see this posted yet

There is no Yellow on this but Rossi did tweet that this can be changed.

^^ I saw that documentary "Why we Ride" and if I am remember correctly, one rider said this type of racing helps riders to be more fearless and help them in going into corners with more speed and at the same time have better control. They have to ride without any brakes.

MotoGP riders use this for training in the off season as this gives them all them good practice. Precise throttle control gives them good practice for controlling their monster bikes. Like Stoner and now Marc have shown, by reducing the electronics and controlling the motorcycle by the feel of the wrist.

Flat track is considered to be the safest form of training as the speeds are low and there are no jumps like motocross

Baker would have thought the only way to win is to knock him off!!! Yeah I was really surprised to see Marq do this, giving Baker a seasoned rider a run for his money on his home ground! This guy continues to amaze me. Sheer talent and it is going to take a masterclass from someone to stop him taking his second title this year. Cant wait for the testing to start!

Honestly, to me it appeared more like Baker was playing with Marquez, giving him a chance to stay in the same frame to make it fun. Did you notice that after Marc fell off, Baker was turning around and looking and still staying far ahead of the remaining riders. To me it looked like he was just having some fun with the Tarmac Riders!!!

Yes, we may never know but looking at the lead these guys had over the others it feels these two were too good and moreover in a race like this anybody can win, the one who has his nose a little front will win and the way baker was easily getting to Marq and overtaking him was noticeable but still marq has to be given credit the way he rides. Even Baker wouldn't have expected this much from a tarmac rider!

Marc has a personal flat track on which he and his brother train. So he is not exactly new to dirt riding. Rossi, Marquez and Edwards are the only MotoGP riders who have built dirt tracks for training purposes.

Yea, I remember a video of Rossi with a couple of other riders doing rounds of Rossi's dirt track.
To stay at the top, they have to practice like that is the real deal.

Yes I agree, even Stoner & Hayden were very good riders and always train hard during off season but still to compete with a seasoned rider in his own comfort zone was something!
