or the CBR250R has the worst speedometer in the industry with lowest grade of calibration,if that speed had been truly registered on it.

Anyways,Bluevolt, please cool down........I had the luck to meet a most gentle person like you during your cross country ride, and now you seem to be really pissed off now, personally I think it does not suit you.

Even I am feeling bad that you too got irritated for the amount of thoughtlessness this thread has suffered.

      • anytime there is a new bike launch thread this is what happens. agree with nitrosatya's comment, only God knows what will happen to the xbhp servers when the big bikes launch without the excessive taxes on them.
        Lots to do still...

It has never heard about mechanical restriction. I threw the ecu and it smokes the american crap out of my sisters unicycle. I will install a new sprocket and then it would touche 300KMPH, which would mean its faster than my toyota, yamaha scale models.

          interesting

            @ 7K RPM 100-102kph
            @ 8K RPM114-115kph
            @ 9K RPM cant remember
between 9.8-10K RPM 149kph from what I've observed on earlier occasions. Stock gearing. Will recheck and update. But it hits the rev limiter at 10K (true) doing 150-151 kph on speedo.

            @Satyen: +1 ROFLMAO!

              NRS250 the moto3 engine is a CBR250R engine and it makes 50BHP

              CBR250RR 4cylnder makes 45@14000RPM,

1bhp is the difference between 4 and 1 cylinder bikes

it would have been nice to see CFR250R engine on CBR250R

Wow 43BHP a single cylinder 250cc.. is that one cylinder form CBR1000RR is it ?? no its not

CBR1000RR 2008 makes 175BHP @ the same 13000RPM and for one cylinder it makes 43.75BHP and 250cc (1000/4 = 250 lol) and the Honda CRF250Ris making 43BHP hmm thats strange link
The conlusion you derived about 'just 1BHP more from 4cylinders' is outright stupid. This is why we mentioned that cubic capacity is not the only yardstick to measure the bike. Each of the bike you mentioned were build at a different time period, for a different purpose. Comparing them is like comparing Powerpuff girls with Charlies Angels and with
              Kingfisher Calendar girls.

The CBR250 was build with an intend to build a 1)Cheap, 2) affordable 3) quarter liter bike for the world.
The idea was simple, a bike which could go places... Would be easy to maintain and fuel effecient. It was always touted to be a bike for the world (a learners bike in matured markets) and an affordable250 in the developing market.
Hence it doesn't have the CRF or the moto3 engine!!!!
A slightly modde cbr150r could probably squash the elder sibbling on a race track!
And the so called CRF250 engine is already in india in a slightly different form.. Ever wondered why Honda didn't 'swap parts' and made a more powerful bike?

Seems You have RATTA over Honda bikes and have good numericals.
But in multicylinder-inlines, single cylinder, V-config, and lots others, one thing important is power output. The Multicylinders have more uniform power output, while Vee's and single cylinders are more punchy.
thats the reason R1 with cross plane feels lazy, but it delivers power uniformly and beats the similar config planer crank engine.

On the similar lines, KTM's are famous for their punchy nature.

There are lots of things. All that just doesn't go on add, subtract, multipy, divide maths.

CBR250R is no way related to CRFs and CBR250RR. Its intended for the exact market as explained by Satyen.

                        my 2 cents

i agree with the haphazard posting by some members.. maybe to increase post count.. or just to have their word in or their presence felt or simply "i know it all" attitude.. irrespective of whether its relevant or not.. but locking the thread is not an option..

i religiously follow the thread everyday.. read every single post.. and glean more knowledge on the bike from genuine and informative posts.. but the fanboy type .. baseless speculative comparos and posts... these type of posts simply spoil the fun.. (they may fare better with a site related to astrology.. )

@moderators: rather than locking the thread, maybe u can take away rights to post of guys who even after repeated warnings simply wont stop posting ridiculous content that in no way help a potential CBR buyer or a keen biking enthusiast wanting to know informative facts about the bike..

+1 . Couldnt have said it much better . thats what CBR250 stand for .

Rather than debating over the timings and performance figures just a little longer and let the bike tell us the exact figures and information .
