Excellent update! thanks!!!Originally posted by ansh@honda View PostHi Guys!!!
Short Intro: I am an Vehicle Stability & Brakes testing engineer at honda cars.
Just got in touch with a buddy of mine at HMSI who does Homologation testing for HMSI bikes.
He drove the CBR for about 2 months at VRDE pune.
He did a maximum speed of 148Km/h, without any difficulty. There is no vibration trouble from the couling, the brakes are more then sufficient for the bike.
The mileage was found out to be around 37Km/h during testing so he said it would be around 32~33 Km/l during street driving.
The bike with the C link ABS is totally worth it if u like to take the things to the edge. But for regular drivers ABS wouldn't affect that much.
Also I talked to a designer at Honda R&D, he mentioned the ABS was mainly meant for the heavier bikes. Since the CBR is not a heavy bike so it should be fine without the ABS.
The petrol to used with the CBR would be the High Octane one.
The lights are superb, good enough visibility in the darkest nights.
I hope you find something useful from comment.
I am booking my CBR on 8thr April. Cheeers!!!!
But I am still confused about The Devilish Red ...or ...The Haunted Black.

148Km/h, without any difficulty sounds awesome
, I am sure others comparing this speed to the top speed should keep in mind the Indian roads/riding condition where it was tested, riding position sitting or racing and also riders ability to push it to the max
You should check the bike in flesh/person to choose the color, Majority like the Red/Silver incl. me
Welcome to Xbhp. Thank you for your valuable inputs and clearing up the ambiguity. I am sure many will appreciate you incl. me.Originally posted by sayhi2sai View PostFirst of all, Hi everyone... This is my first post, although I have been very closely following this particular thread for a very long time now.
What I have observed is that, although the question has been answered many a times, there is still ambiguity regarding the Octane rating of the fuel to be used in the CBR250R. In this regard, I felt it was necessary that I intervene and clear the air once and for all (hopefully).
Thing is this, after the BS3 norms have been implemented in the country,(April1st 2010) all the petrol bunks are mandated to adhere to these norms. And it clearly states within that , they will have to serve 91 OCTANE PETROL . Infact the BS2 fuels ,87 octane are no longer available in the country. You can check the authenticity of the information on any of the manufacturers websites, i.e IOCL or BPCL or HP or BP.
Although I knew this, I wanted to be absolutely sure before posting it here, so I called up a couple of my friends, one of whom works for IOCL and one who works for BPCL,(both very high up the food chain) confirmed me that all the petrol in the so called, normal bunks for us (i.e those excluding Shell and Reliance) is indeed 91 Octane Petrol.
Bottomline, Have no inhibitions to get your bike refueled at any station.
P.S:- I booked my bike on Feb 2nd from Kun Honda Adyar..
Everyone, Here is another new video, Fourth Test Drive

Our CBR has a short-stroke/oversquare engine. So, engine life is low compared to other commuter bike of Honda in Indian maket

.
Short stroke engines durability are low compared to square engines...
but short stroke sucks for peak torque
Your technical suggestions please!!!
ANYWAY... A CBR IS A CBR... A BEAST IS A BEAST! TRUST HONDA! TRUST CBR!

I guess you missed a zero from the previous post a few pages back, it is mentioned 2,00,000 kms / 2 lac kms. This is awesome, compared to any other Indian Bike..Originally posted by arunteche View PostOur CBR has a short-stroke/oversquare engine. Is it? Didnt notice it. I guess doing 150 and being rock solid is good enough. I am hoping the suspension works out fine.Originally posted by MeTaL_MaNiaC View Postthe 170 speed bike is modded.. Some CO box and custom fuel mapping done.. The same guy has a video of stock bike doing 154kmph..
And heard the speedo error being 2% in the cbr250r."Never recreate from your memory, always imagine new places"

Being an international bike, I guess it will be good!Originally posted by myg124 View PostIs it? Didnt notice it. I guess doing 150 and being rock solid is good enough. I am hoping the suspension works out fine.
Lets hope for the best
I feel like Peter Parker when I drive my Hunk in the city but I become Spiderman when I am on my CBR swinging from one lane to the other on expressways.

I am planning to book the bike from Honda Wings (new one) itself. They have very few bookings so I would get the bike sooner. Plus, it is very near to my home!Originally posted by ThisPointer View PostChecked with both.. Both are expecting a demo bike after 10th..
Don't think newer showrooms will have more info.. Pashankar honda has been the showroom with most no of honda bikes sold in Pune.. Also with the most number of bookings for the CBR (according to the sales guy)... So i guess they're bound to get the info first...Last edited by xsreality; 04-06-2011, 05:31 AM.

And really good info. I knew the counterbalancer will definitely give a vibe-free ride and overall composure.
My query: hows the handling and suspension?? any rides over bad roads?? this would be really sweet. Do reply! And go for the red hot red
Hiten: Haha! Well I said so because these showroom idiots wouldnt allow one to sit anyway and luckily during my time nobody was bothered about the ceeber. Rolled the leg over, sat for a good while, got the entire house down to attend me. Customer service..really!
Hey Buddy!
Well the bike is tested over bad roads for endurance testing, life cycle test, weather control room test, high rpm engine temperature test, crosswind drive test, cooling efficiency and its a pleasure to tell u it has passed honda standards with flying colors, the bike is a winner is all aspects.
Regarding suspension and driving comfort, please read about the Pro-link suspension system thts been used on the bike. I think that would answer ur query.

There are no Optional Accessories for the CBR (in the price list). Does that mean everything is included in that price or we need to pay for it again?
Heard that Honda gives Number Plate, RVMs, Side Stand as accessories.Last edited by sudeepnbr; 04-06-2011, 10:33 AM.Sudeep P Nambiar

Thanks for that info. Freaking 20k Road Tax is what I was screaming about earlier. Its life time. This is the reason why vehicles from other states when being ridden/driven in Bangalore, need to pay a hefty sum as tax.Originally posted by vijaydutt View PostYesterday I went to Silicon Honda BSK 3rd stage and I got the official price list of Bangalore.
