Test ride update Bangalore - Silicon Honda,

Guys, I called up Mohseen from Silicon Honda. He said the test rides will be starting from Monday or Tuesday (9th or 10th).
They shall be giving us a call.
I also asked him about the delivery, he said it might start from 16th May onwards but will confirm once again.

If you notice the silencer cover has been scratched on the bike this guy is riding. I have similarly seen lot of scratches on the demo bikes as well. I doubt if the silencer is in Sync with the body or if it is too much on the outside and subjective to scratches by the three legged monsters in Mumbai.

Yes, I too felt that the silencer positioning is a bit outside.

Update from Sapphire Honda - Test Rides only from Monday.

Last Thursday I give a call to JSP casually asking if C250R is available for display & to my surprise they say YES. I was wondering how this is possible because each time I called up they assured me that, they'll call me & inform when the bike hits the showroom for display. So I asked them why they haven't called me. So the lady goes over usual gaga & finally mentions that since I've booked the vehicle at Ambattur branch, they missed out calling, but assures that my details are in system & she proved it too

Anyway, I couldn't make it last Friday, so I call them up this morning & find out the bike is still there for display & no test ride. Fine, I go up to see the bike all way riding 13 Kms.

First impressions - The bike looks somewhere in between commuter & big bike category & certainly in one go it tends to give a big bike feeling.

Thorough check - After reading so many good & bad reviews, I decided to check them all by myself. First & foremost thing, yes, there's a slight quality lack from a Japanese manufacturer or CBU perspective, but certainly, a good quality compared to any Indian manufacturer. The quality loss are mostly noticeable at the weld points such as frame & clip ons. The saree guard is missing on the C250R here, so can't comment much. The front panel seems to be slightly smaller in size compared to the huge pics that is floated around the internet. The one that was put up was STD version Black in color with silver creasing on the fairing & under seat. Clutch seem to be very smooth & soft.

Will I buy - From a big yes, it has changed to a million dollar question now. One of the primary reason why I'd booked was easy access to ASC compared to limited number of ASC of N250R.

I spent a good 15-20 minutes looking at the bike & no one even came near me nor when I tried to ask someone, all of them seemed to be busy selling other Honda stables. Tried approaching the manager, but those people are no where in sight & their seats are empty. As we all know, most of the sales talk are sugar coated followed by pathetic ASC. But in this case, forget the sugar talk, there was no one around to ask what I needed in the first place.

While keeping the above experience aside, any day you ask them when the bike would arrive, no one has a clue. Each time you call up you get a same trained answer - 2 months waiting period. That was the same thing they told me this morning over the phone too. So when I asked if it would take June/July, they don't have a concrete answer, they say, they're expecting first lot by May 10 & would decide after that.

I'm gradually loosing interest on this bike as HMSI first said...
- The launch date was mid Apr
- Deliveries commence by end Apr

Now its May 6th now, but still dealers have no clue nor HMSI isn't letting out any concrete news.

Frankly speaking, my hopes are put down miserably by the attitude of HMSI & the dealers. What should I do? Cancel my booking & wait for something else? Pls advice?

First off, nice to see your post after a long hiatus. Were you on vacation?

Its awful to see the deplorable focus that Honda dealers have on the consumer. Add to that the company is not doing much in terms of analyzing strategy vs. reality and taking corrective actions.

The initial rush will be there and will die down after a bit.

If you really like the bike... if you have taken a test ride that is and if it has put a smile on your face, wait it out. Forget the reviews from others and go with an open mind. You'll get your first hand feedback from yourself and that will tell you if its worth the wait and the headache.

Personally i would cancel the booking and wait to see how they (honda as a co.) perform. If they are clueless now i can imagine how they'll fare when it comes to servicing and maintenance.

P.S. This is my opinion. I do not intend to hurt/negatively influence honda lovers or buyers.

Umm.. Now even i am in a dilemma, I would love to cancel the booking just to rebuke the showroom guys, though am sure it will hardly be an issue for them. But if an entire lot of people cancel their bookings then we are sure these fools in the showrooms will realise their mistake.

Adi, thinking through the heart its N250R, but, thinking out of brain, I decided to settle for C250R. To me, N250R/C250R is certainly going to be a work horse; means, a regular commute to office & to take me to places when I ride alone (don't want to take car). With a heavy heart & great arguments at home, I made up my mind firmly on C250R & was still happy. But this type of attitude is certainly letting me down. Forget the dealer, even HMSI is not putting up a word till date anything concretely. Its really disheartening!!!

I'm more of thinking on these lines now; I'd rather cancel C250R & go for N250R or R15 on worst case!!!

Its high time that xbhp officials take some positive actions against HMSI. Xbhp is a brand name and has official magazine these days. What is the use of being called as number one community in Indian biking if we do not see any thing in deeds?

No offense meant anyways, but it is disheartening to see the bike enthusiasts getting cornered because of the recalcitrant ways by Honda dealers. Customer satisfaction is the first priority in any business and HMSI should be brought to realize these very essential basics.

I seriously doubt that if this attitude persists, the after sale service would not be up to the standard. The dealers, showroom guys are just making fun of us

Bike is good, but because of dissatisfaction, I AM IN(and thats really shouting).
if more people join we can cancel in bulk.
Let them sell to others if they want, they should know that they will make other bikes customers think once if this brand is trustworthy.

Alright guys Just checked the honda website it says " now available " from "Delivery commences from April "

What's the point by changing that on their website!
First week of May is almost over and still many cities have not started the deliveries. Forget about deliveries, not even a test ride.

i checked out CBR in chennai today its great in flesh but they told minimum 5 months it will take to deliver the bike..WTF...am waiting for 250's from yamaha now...

me too will probably wait for Yamaha or Hyosung.

Which dealer is that? Its not different from what I hear from JSP. Next time ask them more questions & they MIGHT say something different.
