Nope nothing as yet. I have done around 110km on ODO. Till now nothing. I have used premium petrol as of now at India Oil. I have just added a tank pad to the bike to avoid any scratches.

I've been saying this in the forum for quite sometime now. Why're you buying from Pondi? It just because the taxes are lower. Obviously you're getting the PY registration & bringing to KA. Did you realize that during this process you're not paying tax to KA Govt?

As long as you're in BLR, you might not be disturbed, but once you're outside BLR, you'll understand what PY registration means.

Mishaps was a decent word I put for ACCIDENT. So once the bike meets an accident & if the other person files a FIR, you're life is over, because...
- You'll be in the guilty of possessing the vehicle in KA since the date of purchase without paying tax. So you'll have to pay the tax immediately as well as fined or punished or both to not have paid the tax

Well the braking of the C-ABS is very good as long as you are using the front only and partially the rear. A hard on the rear gets the nose into a tendency to dive and that can take you by surprise (which in a wrong situation might prove to be a bad one). So, I would say go for the C-ABS, but at the same time don't let go of the habit of using both brakes (specially when braking hard) and don't get complacent with the C-ABS

I didnt understand your " do not let go habit". Most of we bikers have a habit of applying brakes both front and rear which is kind of inherent in us. If abs sys want us to apply only the 1st one and the rear would come into action due to sensor, it is really weird for an Indian biker to get used to. He would take a lot of time to get accommodated to it and even if he gets habituated he would have to only rely on those bikes with abs system.

In Karnataka, there's no option for yearly road tax for civilians

Then the best option is to buy the vehicle once you've settled in the city where you work.

In Bangalore you cannot pay Road Tax on yearly basis. It's always Life Time Road Tax. Either delay your purchase, or if you already know where you're going to relocate, book a bike there.

Test Rode the CBR on Saturday from Silicon Honda RV road.

My observations:

1. Seating position - Awesome (Considering my height of 5' 10")
2. Handling - Awesome (considering my weight of 78 kilos & there will no problems handling this bike in Bangalore city traffic)
3. Gear Shift - Super smooth.
4. Power - Good (could not get the feel the power as I was told to ride only below 50 but I took her till 70) but the 2nd and 3rd gear pick up is awesome. Overtaking will be the easiest part in this bike. No vibrations found (including my body parts ).
5. Console Display - Good. The Blue LCD back ground is real good.
6. Suspension : Super soft. It will be a good tourer. It can cause a light pain/stress on your palms while hard breaking.(Caution: People who take this bike for long rides may fall asleep while riding. Carry a Mosquito repellent )
7. VFM - 100%.

I was able to reach out for the Horn easily, did not find any difficulty. (might be my fingers are long ).

As per the manager & according to my booking number, I shall be getting my CBR by this month end or 1st week of June. This completes my waiting time of 5 months (PHEW...) but the wait is worth. I felt the bike is made for me as soon as I sat on it

I don't like to compare the CBR to any other bikes which are available in India as this falls in a complete different segment. THE CBR segment

I am still to get some real positive comments from owners about braking ability of abs model bikes. So far, the comment has been below excellence for abs version.

I am not worried for spending extra dimes, but the real braking ability of abs model is pricking me. Please clear the dust guys. Why the owners are silent?

I also went to Silicon Honda on Saturday for the test ride, but the guy there said that the test ride will be starting from Wednesday (18th May).. It seems they were providing test rides only for those who booked the bike @ Silicon..

We (sudeep, sourav, girish and me) went to silicon. He was not giving test rides initially, but after we started speaking about CBR, the list of owners and some usual chit chat, he not only gave test ride of CBR, but gave dazzler test ride to sourav and also started talking about yamaha rexy, etc. Nice guy, dont exactly remember his name, I guess Altaf.

Anyhow, am getting my bike tomorrow morning 11am.
