Even the global one doesn't ave any separate silencer pipe.. But the exhaust part (without the silencer pipe) in the global model looks better.. Also the global once has a engine guard/mud guard (not sure whats that called) below the engine which our desi one is not having in the picture..Originally posted by cHoKoBoI View PostOne & Only,

The "Global" version has the silencer in exactly the same place. What you are talking about probably is the "125 Race Concept" which was just a "Concept" to be shown at the Milan Motorcycle Show.Originally posted by cHoKoBoI View PostYeah i saw that already but was expecting pipe as in teh global version?
Does this mean its reworked??
Saree Guard, Bar End Weights, Front Number Plate, Engine Belly Pan, Rear View Mirrors, not to mention Decals... a lot of stuff is missing.
This is a Test Mule.

Saree guard on a off-roader

That's Govt. of India rules, can't help it. Even the R1/Hayabusa/Harleys got to show it to our Govt. Babus.
But then for your information:
KTM Duke's are "Street" Models, NOT off roaders.
>> The 990 Super Duke is a pure Street Fighter
>> The 690 Duke is a Street Bike but with a more of a "Supermoto" attitude [if interested one can Google to find out what a Supermoto is)
>> The 125 Duke is definitely a Street Bike with a little bit of "off road bike" look/character
[Tip: Just look at the tyres to get a hint of whether its an Off road or Street bike]
KTM is the most revered/famous name in off road bikes, but not every KTM is an off road bike.
But yes, according to me if the Street bikes of KTM get the off road genes/looks/attitude of its mother brand KTM; it does become its USP. Therefore maybe its a good thing if the common "desi" people think of the Baby Duke as an "Off Roader", although its NOT.
If it's the India spec model that is being tested, then it has to be the 200 cc engine (as mentioned by Mr. Bajaj).. but then it could also be the European spec 125 cc engine which is still being tested. According to Mr. Bajaj, the launch in India probably should be by the end of this year.Originally posted by pulsar_flame View Post@payeng is that a 200cc engine ? also when they are launching it any idea..

I love the hidden/centralized silencer and the detailed and chunky looking swingarm.
At 200 cc, I am not expecting it to be much powerful than my 20 Ps P220 DTS-Fi.
"Need for speed" is no longer my priority anymore. But then with just 130 Kgs of weight, this Baby Duke should still be a exciting enough.
What I am looking for is a different kind of ride experience.. something which I am hoping that this KTM would provide.
i.e. a Street/Highway ride with the attitude of an urban off roader.

Its KTM we are talking about.Sure it not going to be anything to brag about but more than 20bhp for sure.Originally posted by payeng View PostI love the hidden/centralized silencer and the detailed and chunky looking swingarm.

I was just imagining how awkward the bike would look with a saree guard, b'cos there' huge space b/w the wheel and rear seat....even CBR looks bad with saree guard, everyone knows it's useless piece of metal sticking there and spoiling the looks of these bikes!Originally posted by payeng View PostTrue..

Govt should instead think of penalizing saree clad women on back of such bikes ! !
