the pic on the website is without the orange rims..i doubted that would come to India. But being on the assembly line, I just wish it's for the Indian market and not for export. I've got my Ninja ready to be exchanged as soon as this baby comes out for Indian market. I think I'm getting desperate for this now :PJust because you haven't seen it doesnt mean its impossible...expect the unexpected.

With the D200 costing almost 1.5 in most cities. I think the pricing might be on the wrong side of 2.0 for the 390.
Bar end weights are a welcome addition but also point to the fact that this will be one vibey lil machine.
Orange rims...Slurrrrp!!! It has a saree guard on it so may it is actually for the Indian market after all.
But this is in contrast to what was announced at the KTM Orange Day on Mumbai recently. From the pics it looks like the bike is barely a month away from launch...._________________________

to keep the bike competing in the segment with the kwackers and honda's i speculate nothing short of 2.3-2.4 lakhs.
product placement is an important strategy for business.. after all this makes more power than the ninja 300 and almost similar to that of upcoming honda.
and it will still stand cheaper."A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel."

ABS is a welcome addition especially to the 390. I hope these are the same as the ones meant for the Indian market. And I think the ABS employed by the KTM in the duke is from Bosch. Will have to wait and see if thats true.Originally posted by tanay View PostABS ring with sensor wire visible on the rear disc, good stuff
I too have a similar dilemma. Lets see who posts firstOriginally posted by yellowspunk View PostSo ninja 300 or ktm 390... hmmmmm... i think i will be the first to post that topic! lol
(although I already have a "D200/CBR 250" topic which will be changed to N300/D390

I feel D390 will be priced at around 2, then there will be 20k - 30k difference between different variants.
D390 - 2L
D390 ABS - 2.2L - 2.3L
D390 Toring/ Faired - 2.5L - 2.6L (both will come with ABS as standard)
this is just my assumption. because if they price regular D390 at 2.2L +, then ABS, faired/ Touring versions may touck 3L, which may hurt the sales.
and then P375 may come only in faired version which will serve as touring version as well (becaulse of the bigger tank)
whats your take guys?

I really appreciate the design choice of 4-pot brake calipers and ABS on the duke. It will, without a doubt will be one of the quickest stopping bikes around, specially considering it only weighs 140 odd kgs.Bajaj Pulsar 150 : 2004-2005
Honda Dio : 2005-2012
KTM 200 Duke : 2012-
Aprilia RSV4 APRC ABS : 2014-

Bajaj will also be exporting the same model, I doubt if they will want to produce different quality bikes from the same production line.Originally posted by sudhi View Posti really hope it is, and i even pray for that. Bajaj may take any drastic step for cutting down the cost._________________________

D390 seems real threat to lot of motorcycles in the premium naked sports bikes<500 cc category. Really exciting product in terms of Power-to-weight ratios
Wonder how will the touring version (if there is one in the pipeline) look like .... Hyperstrada from Ducati, Whats from KTM, the Duke 390 SM T or Adventure ?

Alright guys, here's some news I've got. Got a call from the KTM showroom here in Delhi. i had registered and entry at their place stating I was interested in the Duke 390. They called me up today, confirmed if I was still interested, and said I can get the delivery by June only. They also stated since you interested in exchanging the Ninja, you can look forward to the Ninja 300 which can also be delivered by the same time though it would be around 4.20 L which the KTm is around 2.2L
. Now wouldn't that bring a smile on anyone's face?
So I'll visit them over the coming weekend and get more details and post here what's relevant
