re: Hero HX250r revealed, with 31ps Liquid Cooled Engine: xBhp News
Oops guess we are all in the celebration that we forgot totally about this. . . Anyways, I have this one small doubt, I know it has got all best features but considering the handling, how good do you expect it to be. . ? The handlebars as we can see in the pics are a bit raised up, making it more of a sports tourer IMO but looks more focused towards sports overall than touring. . . So can we expect good/great handling from this machine. . ?Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostBut did you guys forget the Pulsar 375? Mind you, this bike shods a perimeter frame with all the nitty gritty as the same, and even more funkier headlights, and optional ABS. I guess Bajaj wants to keep the tension till Auto Expo. But with regards to 375 , you can expect an even better handling or the same as the 200 NS.
The pulsar 375 will also be brought with a storm, with aggressive pricing and better features I guess. . . Let's keep our fingers crossed as the big day is coming soon
. . .
Cheers!!!

re: Hero HX250r revealed, with 31ps Liquid Cooled Engine: xBhp News
This is really a great comeback story for Hero, because both in the styling and performance segments they were lagging behind, people started saying that break up with Honda is the last nail on their coffin, more bashing came after they showcased the revamped Karizma few months back, but after that without any spy shots or any rumours about this bike, HX250 really came like a huge surprise for the Indian bikers both looks wise as well as specification wise! Hope they will price it aggressively. And hope they will be able to retain the smoothness of their previous generation honda engines.

Just FYI
These are Code Names given to the motorcycles, the production versions will have a different name. Since I forgot to mention this earlier.Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!
Give your details here if you want to help your fellow xBhpian stranded in your city

Are the electricals all DC? The 35watt headlamps disappoint me, also the 6 AH battery
Now, I'm looking for a streetfighter from them. Looks like they really nailed Bajaj this time, anyway, any speculation on price?I am back!

re: Hero HX250r revealed, with 31ps Liquid Cooled Engine: xBhp News
Well they have all the boxes checked.
- ABS (yes, comes first for me)
- CBR beating BHP figures
- A compicated sounding EFI
- Underbelly exhaust (Not so much of positive though)
- PSDs
- Better breaks upfront (three piston callipers)
- Synthetic oil from the start???
Now, as with any other new thing that is introduced we expect teething issues. My concern is, with so many new things introduced in the bike, for how long teething issues shall occur OR in what time shall the teeting issues disappear, this would be a deciding factor. Even KTM 390 ownership forum is fraught with teething issues and some issues are yet to be resolved even by the company guys (stalling issue). I pray for Hero to do well.
Mileage doesnt seem to be a concern here. I will be satisfied with a mileage around 30-35 Kmph (Yes, my expectations are high).
Certain things can be said for sure
- Death knell for the already aging Karizma ZMR (it would be wise to withdraw ZMR from the current market)
- Periliously close to death knell for Honda CBR250R (Makes more power, will obviously be cheaper and has better tires on the go - Few reasons why people still choose CBR in current market is because of its comfort, tank range, power, honda reliablility - HX250r challenges every damn domain)
- Will eat away market from KTM 390 (but not so much)
Now, on the pricing part - Hero products have always been costlier compared to Bajaj products because they had that reliability tag. In this case, i think Hero is not entering the arena with reliablity tag, so having a somewhat equivalent price compared to future bajaj models.
Price for HX250r including all bells and whistles should not exceed 1.7L INR on-road (My expectation)

re: Hero HX250r revealed, with 31ps Liquid Cooled Engine: xBhp News
Saw this bike today at about 4pm and ignored the message thinking it was just a ninja and on looking closer i saw the hero logo and i stop right there with my mouth wide open, just staring at the pic. And then rushed home leaving all my work and open up this page to reply but decided to wait in order to see how the folks here reacted. Can't wait longer now!
First of all, this is the exact reason why i've been a fan of hero. Everything in the company goes on so secretly unlike other companies whose riders are careless enough to deliberately or unkowingly let the photos leak and we have people crazy enough to start their own sketches and what not. That considerably lowers the value of the bike. But when things are handled in such a way as we are seeing now from hero, everyone just shut up and absorb every detail. Those moments are simply priceless!
Coming to the bike, am at a loss for words. But at the same time i get a question as to what was hero thinking when it launched the two karizmas few months back. They may look good in flesh though i guess. Speaking of colour being dull, i guess the theme would be the same with just the colour combos varying. Was waiting for a 250cc from hero but man, this is way way too early. LOL!!
And if hx250r is not the real name, i just wish they name it as another Karizma. Cause that name has respect.Last edited by abhi7013; 01-29-2014, 08:38 PM.ZMR- PGMFI re-defined

Does it really have underseat exhaust? I couldn't make that out from the pics. I think it's more of an under chassis exhaust(like we have on the duke 200). I may be wrong, but a rear shot would be welcomeOriginally posted by Deathmate.Zed View Postand now the HX250R (first indian bike with underseat exhaust) and the RNT concept(first diesel scooter and also the first turbocharged two-wheeler in india)

look closely at the pics posted by rreneav1987, and you can see the lower portion of the silenser under the seat. In another pic, you can see it raising up near the mono-shock.Originally posted by Doga View PostDoes it really have underseat exhaust? I couldn't make that out from the pics. re: Hero HX250r revealed, with 31ps Liquid Cooled Engine: xBhp News
I have got to say wow to the specs. 26nm of torque from a 250cc engine. That too a non honda engine. Even the legendary N250R produced only 22nm of peak torque from an engine of same size. If priced right, this bike would sing the RIP song to the VFR250F(CBR250R). Sport tourers are getting more and more to rejoice these days
The Ninja had 194 PS/tonne. This thing has more. Also, the tourers get the peak power as early as 9000RPM as opposed to the Ninja's 11000RPM
