I think as good as this bike looks on paper, let's wait for the road tests.
Remember when the duke 200 came along, everyone thought it would beat every performance figures with its(then) insane power to weight ratio. But it didn't turn out to be did it?
People even expected the 200 to give teh Ninja's a run for their money thanks to its non existent weight. But we all know how it turned out.
I think the KTM looses a lot of the 25 Bhp it has on crank by the time it reaches the wheels. The experience and finesse of the Honda's shine here as they have perfected the art of motorcycle manufacturing. Same might(I hope not) be the case with the EBR-hero collaboration.
See how the fireblade still shines in almost every road/track test the mags conduct despite having the least(or second least) hp and no electronics ? I was stunned to see the CBR bagging the number one position in the quarter mile drag in one of those tests. It had the S1000RR/panigale et all as competitors.
And Honda being Honda, will surely find a way to take care of any gap in the performance figures.
So lets wait and watch before writing obituaries. Let the bike first see roads where it can lock horn with other makes.
In the mean time let's doff our hat to Hero, for they have come up with a beauty.

Erik buell racing if you haven't done your homework.
