re: Hero HX250r revealed, with 31ps Liquid Cooled Engine: xBhp News
Bhai, I know that. I ride the duke. I ride and experience the raw performance. The gearing(apart from the fast revving engine: may be the flywheel doesn't have weight at all) is both its 'ace up the sleeve' and its 'achilles heel'.Originally posted by SubhradeepBuddy, I'd beg to differ from you regarding Duke's performance, yes , definitely it cannot beat legendary Ninja, but apart from that it is a raw performance oriented beast.
It gives those immense spurts which always plasters a grin on your face. But at the same time it ensures you have to shift up many times(5 infact) within the 110kmph mark, robbing away drag seconds. I am sure it has better roll ons than competition.
Anyway, it is a hoot to ride than the unexciting Ceeber, but the ceeber has undeniably better top end and a little bit better 0-100 timing.
But even that should not have happened given that the duke weighs more than 30 Kgs less than the ceeber. Which leads me to think that the power at wheel is a bit lesser than the Ceeber. The short wight difference should offset the short gearing no?
Guys sorry for digressing. All I wanted to say is that we should not start writing off competition just by looking at the spec sheet. ON road realities might be a bit sobering at times. The superduke 1290 was supposed to be 'unrideable', journos almost expecting to see the bike slip away from their grasp when launched from standstill with them rooted. It turned out to be "The beast" alright but a tamed beast at that.
The HX would no doubt be a great performer, but I am sure the other makes would still find takers. The RC still, IMO gets the marks in the looks department as compared to the HX and that carries a lot of weight in the Indian market.
The R15 is still selling isn't it, despite having very humble(look at the competition) performance specs? Also the CBR 150R(though in lesser numbers).
PS: I think the forehead is a bit stretched. Shorter would have been meanerThe hero always RIDES into the sunset!

re: Hero HX250r revealed, with 31ps Liquid Cooled Engine: xBhp News
HI All...on my view... the bike is superb with lots of gizmos but not sure on the reliability. I guess Hero has copied CBR1000RR upfront and at the rear with underbody silencer. However..as i see the pics it feels bit tall and bit narrow...may be because its a single cylinder (it should have been wider and shorter then tall and longer). 1 more thing is it angle of fairing is not as sporty as the R15 or the Ninja ...here it looks like a copy cat which always cant be perfect. Rest is all fine on the looks...Hope they dont concentrate on milage for this machine else it will be another 250cc splender..
..
.
I will also add on to this stating that the bike is going to bash P220 and RTR180 atleast on the looks and Pick up seeing the performance figures.
Thumbs up Hero...was very disappointed when I saw new Karizma....please dont bring such cheap things on indian road else it will look like a chinese handset with Serial set sound..
Few Points to remember for Hero
:
1. Looks
2. Performance
3. reliability MAINLY. Putting in good stuff and not filly only gizmos which wont work.
4. Identity of its own not copying the Japanese Giants...
5. Test it before the launch and make sure the bike is 100% problem free...
After all its out Indian bike competing at international level (I say it international level bcz all the major companies are in India).

That's cuz we journos werent allowed to step up to the platform and take close up pics / rear pics. The only pictures we have all managed are front / side

Lets wait and see.
How come there is not a single shot from any of the sites with its rear end. Everyone wants clarification on the Underseat / Underbelly exhaust confusion, If its an under seat exhaust what is that under the rear brake pedal, it looks like a canister and it also seems to have an outlet.

WOW, SIMPLY WOW.... Looks like a superb product with the required power and features to match, a winner on hand.

....
true the front wind shield part of fairing is too tall, and over all the bike looks like too tall and too slim.
maybe its because of camera angle.

6. If one can't keep the website up then what's the need to be present at launch? Why is this keep happening at every time? I spend thousands of hours here building posts I've started to think I was wrong to expect the live coverage by this site. I had to look elsewhere for the information. It could barely cope with 300 visitors. ....
Please let go of iffort and pair networks, they are holding xbhp back.
now we need cost? 0-100 timmings.
and a proper road test report.

Exhaust appears to be Under seat. One can see the exhaust pipe going upwards from Swing-arm Pivot. And also extra material type just above the tail part section.
Over all, A pleasant Surprise from Hero. Was expecting its 250cc to be in and around CBR. But they have just beaten all the expectations and they did well.
But, the unsung hero's of Hero here are RnT and Dash.
A 150cc Diesel Turbocharged Motorcycle Hybrid. Come on, how frequently you hear this term
Just imagine the possibilities if Hero successfully pulls of this stint.

2008 - Yamaha YZF R15

re: Hero HX250r revealed, with 31ps Liquid Cooled Engine: xBhp News
This should compel Honda to bring in 300R and not 250R with newly launched bodywork.
So is this still a concept that will be revealed now and go into production a year later? Or it goes on sell right away post launch at AutoExpo?
BTW, i have been seeing the Pratham Motors' Showroom in pune has its signboards hidden for quite some time, also the showroom is kinda empty.
I guess Hero will go the Bajaj way with some Swanky looking outlets like "Bajaj Probiking" with the new stratergy and models.Last edited by ZMAtic; 01-30-2014, 04:28 PM.***Correct me if I am wrong :)

Great Launch by Hero. What remains to be seen is how the service centre handles this. As a premium bike customer, I wouldn't want to get my bike serviced at the same place where 1000's of Splendors and Passions are being serviced. I would want Specialized Mechanics in a separate service centre a.la Probiking.Ride Safe. Respect others on the road.

Wow, this thread is just flying away. It was around 9 pages yesterday now its more than doubled- hehe means bikers are all exited, congrats to Hero for starting the new year with a Bang!
Nice looking bike IMO though a tad slim and the handle bars suggest a touring friendly riding posture rather than track which in a way makes sense. They are going after the CBR250R but its price and on road performance only will tell the complete story.
