The price Will matter a lot here. Hero can give the 250CC at 1.5L but Ninja wont be less than 2.25L

I am still not sure about the pricing. The refresh ZMRs are 1.26L on road Bangalore.. so i dont think this will be 1.5L. Maybe 1.75/- but cant comment on reliability till the bike is in the market for couple of years..

I have a feeling that this engine was tested on the Karizma Refresh and ZMR refresh bodies.. just a gut feeling. I still remember in a scoop pic.. the bike in front seemed wider to me compared to the bike that was following

Indeed its an under seat exhaust. What we have on Duke is called an under belly exhaust.

          All hail HERO!!
          HX250R
Was at office & saw this pics & yelled loudly "Holy Fu***ng Shit" & every one was looking at me like I have killed someone
Now coming back to this Masterpiece, after seeing this I've dropped my plan of RC!!
250cc, 31bhp, 28nm torque, rear monoshock, ABS, FI, full fairing, Underseat exhaust, new swingarm, 139kg of kerb weight
Till now Hero was like Dr . Bruce Banner who was trying to control his anger, but now after getting pissed by Bajaj & Honda the Giant has shown his true colours
If the front shockers would've been upside down & front end would've been a slightly more slanty, Man it would've been a killer.
With underseat exhaust like CBR600RR we can expect it to be a screamer!!!
          Now the Hopes
          1. Hope it handles as closely as R15
          2. Hope FE will be around 35kmpl
          3. PRICE: anything below 1.8lakh & I'm booking one
          4. Hope new 250cc mill is as smooth as HONDAs
          5. Hope the fancy gizmos don't have problems with the performance of Bike.
          6. Hope the bike doesn't have issues like Dukes

Clearly what's making everyone go "wow wow" (i did as well) after seeing this bike is the because of the fact that it's been developed by Hero itself, a company that always used Honda tech. And now when it did work on something, it's as big and cool as this. A Liquid cooled single cylinder 250cc engine generating 31Bhp and 28Nm torque, DOHC, FI and most importantly a durable rev happy motor (i hope so).
+ Bike looks great, clearly resembles older CBR600RRs. The undertail exhaust may help improve the look of the bike from rear. (yet to see a pic of rear)
+ Just like Dukes, NS and R15 this bike appears to be very compact and probably uses lightweight materials ? Hence the ridiculously low kerb weight.
+ The attention to detail is terrific
+ 250cc generating 31bhp, 0-60 2.7 secs. Never expected this sort of performance coming from a Hero engine. Only time will tell how reliable this engine will be. Liquid cooled, rev happy motor. Better late than never Hero!. The power figures in this totally boggle my mind.

-This clearly isn't a a cheap or amazing VFM package from Hero. Expect this to be priced high enough and unreachable for many bikers. For killer looks, performance & reliability at reasonable costs.. Pulsars would still take the cake. Minimum 1.5-1.7lacs for HX250r is my guess. Still a terrific bike for that sort of price. I'd pick it ! (once it's durability is confirmed as it's first Hero invention :P)
-Absence of a perimeter frame that takes handling to a whole new level. But may be it already handles like charm

            Salutes to Hero!

I think the power to weight ration is the best quality that I see. I think after a long time Hero used their rusted brains to bring such a nice bike
Life is a road, therefor I wander !!!

Yesterday in the other thread about the new unveiling of bikes, i had mentioned a 500cc motor, but i was wrong about that.
I had also mentioned about the 250cc bike which HX250r is.

So yes i knew it is coming from Hero.

It is a stunner in looks and also we need to keep in mind the price of this product, the non-ABS will be around 1.5 lakhs on road and add 15-17k for the ABS one.
So yes for a bike with on road cost of 1.8 lakhs it will definitely be a looker while on streets as well as justify the price of the features it will carry.

Its time for me to save some money.

Wow this is just amazing.Today i was completely pissed at office but this thread just lifted my mood. The indian giant is giving competition to established player in market. Helmets off to Hero.I am not ashamed to say that i am a loyal customer of hero for last 14 years and i have never faced any problem with all my hero bikes only fill petrol and do servicing and nothing else. From the oldest member of Hero my Joy to the newest member the extreme none has ever given me any problems to leave me stranded on the road. Now where are haters and bashers?I have said before and now also:- "The emperor strikes back".I have also said that a 250 CC is in line up and will produce around 30 bhp of power and i knew my sources of news are always reliable. Watch out for more fireworks as next in line-up is their new 500 cc and 1000 cc bikes.Everybody is enamored by the 250 cc bike and hell bent on praising it but do not forget the silent Hero standing in the middle - SPLENDOR.The actual Hero is splendor as it is the bike which is shouldering all the new bikes. Splendor is the bike that turned the fortune of hero to make it the company it is today. Splendor is the bike that taught people to have faith on Hero. Splendor is the bike that put Hero in millions of Home and become a part of family. So what technological innovations or new products you see the original Hero is splendor- deserves applause.Ya indeed i am very happy today.

The specs looks like a Nuclear bomb dropped on the 250cc class straight away from the Hero stable.

But what I feel could have been better is the upper portion of the faring, where they could have made it little wider and little shorter windshields. With the current styling, I feel it looks like a hybrid of 600RR and a Multistrada (with those tall windshields).

Anyways if Hero price this product well under 2lacs or 1.8lacs, then its going to knockout the other competitors from the Market Ring...

Excitement is good, but it should respect reality too. The bike is a looker for sure and performance will be spot on considering its power to weight ratio. Top speed will be better as well. Fortuner and xuv 500 have similar top speeds too and the fortuner is way costlier than xuv. But still it is being preferred. Yes, this is where reliability, stability at high speeds, braking, etc hit the scene. Let this 250cc mill hit the roads to realize its actual potential. R&Ds of bigger brands actually standout from the rest. You guys can wait for yet another performance savvy mill from Yamaha and it will again transform the Indian auto market just like the R15 did. Let's save some energy for bigger games. 2014 will give a perfect bath to Indian auto industry.

Wow just saw this news! Loving the HX250. It is as if Hero read my mind, and added all the things that I thought were missing from my ZMR. Brilliant specs. Really this bike has everything I wanted: more power, mono suspension, ABS, lower weight, liquid cooling, better tires.

If this bike has the same build quality, reliability, low maintenance of ZMR, then all I can say is RIP CBR250R, and eat into market share of all other similar/higher spec competitor bikes.

With HX250 as their new premium bike, they should just keep one lower spec ZMA/ZMR, which can still sell because it will be cheaper than HX250.
