Dont understand this comparison when the bike is not even launched, not even price has been discussed by the company.

And just for sake of 'FUN', I can say my 150cc bike which is priced at 1.3L also provides me 'FUN'.

We need to understand one thing, every bike can be different for different people.

This is what is called customer feedback about what kind of bike is being expected or going to to expected by the brand. Just as triumph is doing for the 675(new 765 expected) after inputs from forums. Lamborghini does to make a V10 or V12, Aston Martin Vulcan went for the V12 naturally aspirated instead of a turbo unit

And your point taken about the bike providing 'FUN' regardless of the CC, price or HP.

        Ah....what do we have here!

Yet another launch from a global brand and the Rumour Factory and Speculation Services are in full swing! I read comments from some "blogs" and "auto sites" that say the little Bimmer will be priced at 1.8 lakh. Let's say some of them are doing a great job in providing some comic relief..

This is what got me here after a long time and it's sad that no sooner than the manufacturer putting a few test bikes on the road, do we love to jump and go all-out in predicting prices and whatnot! Hold your horses guys, and while this bike might lack KTM's power and equipment I don't see that as a reason for BMW diluting its premium/luxury image in India, if it's indeed sold as a BMW only as people suggest and not TVS. Let's not forget that BMW Motorrad is a super-premium marque in India

Secondly we all learnt the hard way when Bajaj took their own sweet time to launch the D390. We waited with baited breath like fools for months with our cheque-books while March tuned to April and April turned to May and the orange thing was nowhere to be seen. So let's not take the Oct 2016 launch date too seriously here, it will only save us heartache if we keep our expectations and emotions in check!

Looks like the price is almost finalized.

Autocar Magazine has pegged it around 1.8L ex show room.

I feel that is a fantastic price and finally a entrant in the market that will give some competition to the D390.

                Topic Approved.

Guys, do not take this as a confirmed indication of the final price in India.
Please note that while TVS would want amazing sales and market response anyday, there's no denying that Product placement strategy, profit margins and cost structures differ from company to company..... Any one of these points may cause a price hike, and here there are three instead.
I'm amazed at the naiveity of some authors on the internet.

Although, I'm still fearing a dilution of the BMW brand. Probably the first time a BMW would be sold this cheap in this country (excluding the stock clearance sale of F650 years back, in around Rs. 2 Lacs or so).
I mean, even if they had a inline 3 for approx 4-5 lacs, that would've still meant seriously Premium, but this pricing would make it mass market anyhow(by premium motorcycle standards though).

Incredible pricing if this turns out to be true!

As per my e-conversation with BMW personnels, the bike wont be having any renames, it will be BMW g310r in all countries. But I can understand the fear, as its India anyway

If true, and if it performs even slightly better than the CBR, My CBR is up for sell.

Dunno why some are too concerned over the brand dilution thing. Brand dilution happens when manufactures decide to shift or extend the brand from its intended area (imagine a Harley Davidson branded lightweight supersport!) or to flood market with sub standard products diluting their QC standards. Not by introducing a 'reasonably priced' entry level machine with inherited characteristics of their larger offerings. Its only a matter of time for other manufactures to step in, under the current 2 wheeler market scenario. Ducati alredy got a 500cc scrambler, which would have been a hell lot cheaper to us if it was made here. What it does is to introduce more people towards the brand, which is good especially for us.
Some even believed it to be branded as TVS fearing the brand dilution!
