        All those hypes were gone.

I think they want to test with Akula, and if it holds the Indian market well, then they will launch G310R. This way BMW brand will be safe.

Even launch in 2018 is a question now.

Totally agree with you buddy I was so excited and eagerly waiting for its launch so I could buy it as my next bike but will have to settle for something else now Dominar or ktm may be.

            Hi,

I agree that there usually is quite a lot of baseless speculations, but BMW's official Twitter handle had previously mentioned about a launch in the first half of 2017 if I'm not wrong.

Technically, it may not be called an official press release/statement as such. But, there's no denying that BMW indeed wanted to launch it earlier than it is going to be launched.

On the brighter side, it maybe is going to be for the good. As they'd get more time to analyse the market and also to prepare themselves, keeping in mind this would probably sell more numbers than the other bikes in their existing lineup.

            Let's hope for the best.

            Cheers.

As far as a authorized dealer here in bangalore. When I asked him about the G310R, he said the motorcycle for the time being(or forever) will only be manufactured for the international markets and Akula would be the indian version.

I didn't took his words seriously when he said that but once he stated that he has visited the Main TVS manufacturing plant and the newly built BMW assembly plant inside the TVS Factory. He also explained in details how clean, systematic, inorder and futuristic the BMW plant is compared to TVS assembly point.*

He said there are high chances of G310R not releasing in india and instead we get Akula, he was saying this with affirmative. The dealer is the owner of TVS showroom "Skanda Motors" South bangalore. BTW he said all this back in march (3 months ago) so I didn't bothered to post anywhere as it sounded bit stupid back then but with the new revelations I think it makes sense now.*

But then again no source is true or false until it comes from a direct reliable source i.e TVS/BMW.
There's a light at each end of this tunnel you shout cause you're just as far in as you'll ever be out.

I am unable to fathom that if they are delaying it to build their own network of sales and service and not use TVS dealerships for it. How will they even manage to sustain it's running and functioning by just one bike? Which is still premium enough to be not sold in enough volumes to keep this kind of infrastructure up and running. I really feel they either will have to build a complete lineup in this portfolio or use TVS network. Considering they have already rejected the feasibility of the latter happening, I feel even 2018 is a long shot to start selling G310R.

I have personally seen akula on the track and boy it's quick , and about the price, the tvs people mentioned it will be around 2.5-3 lakhs , because of the BMW engine and some components from Europe such as the instrument cluster and a few more things.

This better be on road else they are going to find it very tough to sell well

Who's gonna pay 2.5 to 3lk for a tvs which makes only 35bhp when u get ktms producing 44bhp..
It should be priced on par with d250 with an additional 10k for the fairing anything above, tvs not gonna get any buyers.

BMW should have lauched the g310r b4 akula 310 as tvs could have had a chance to get a better price for their product

I don't understand what's the point of all our discussion if BMW is not launching the bike in India ? I don't think they will launch it even next year b4 June as they want to see how tvs rr310s performs and if it doesn't have enough sales then BMW won't risk their brand image .I am in a dilemma now which bike to buy ? My budget it 2.5 I was looking forward for BMW .dominar was shortlisted but heard has lot of issues as always with bajaj. What to do ?
