Its obvious that the competetion has increase massively in the performance biking segment in India and frankly Bajaj alone as it is cannot hold on for long, unless they get in some foreign technology (Liquid cooling, twin spar frames, better performing bikes etc..).
Same is the case with TVS.
Once the super biggies (Honda, Bajaj, Suzuki etc) get into their own league in the market, Indian companies will really suffer unless collaboration happens. Think Bajaj will now have to bank on their KTM tie up to succeed in motorcycles now.
It is just a matter of time. Yamaha is on the way to revival in India, Honda has already captured the scooter segment, the economy bike segment and maybe they are just waiting in the motorcycle market.
Bajaj has to do something more than mix and match. Seriously technology and performance will be in demand in the future.

    • It s not just mix and match. There are other improvements too.Just dont go by the visuals.

And i beleive it is better than silly sticker and red paint "upgrades".

BTW going by ur logic, i think u might wanna call the R15 also as a mix and match.(But it is not, atleast accordint to me) As it is basically a fully faired body with the Vixion s engine retuned and improved.
When everything comes ur way, u r in the wrong way ;)

        Yup... right said.

Just ride the previous generation Pulsars and the 2009 P180 UGIV back to back, before anyone should try to cast a stone.. believe you me, the improvements will be noticable.

Even TVS is trying to smoothen out the rough edges of the RTR 160 in the form of RTR 180.. and the to be launched refreshed Flame.

"Rome wasn't build in a Day".. at least our desi bike makers are slugging it out with the big boys.

@Payeng : What is the criteria for calling a bike maker a 'Desi' or 'non-desi' ? On what basis you call HMSI or HH or SMIL or Yamaha India as 'non-desi', these companies are in fact producing bikes in India using Indian labour/materials etc etc, these companies pay tax to the govt.

Is importing technology a criteria? Then Bajaj too bought Pulsar Engine technology way back in 1999 for few hundred crores, TVS is still using basic Fiero engine design, TVS has Austrian tie-up too. Bajaj produced Chetak only in collaboration with Vespa not on it's own.

HH/HMSI/SMIPL/YIML are all very much Indian companies like TVS and Bajaj...and personally I feel these companies are offering better products / services.

infact the lakh rupay ka sawaal. i just about forgot. the mileage. now what i generally do to an automobile to get the fuel consumption figure iis top the tank, drive a humdred kilometres and again top the tank, but this gives you litres per 100 kms. so i decided to put thirteen litres in tank and with a reserve of 3 litres will get the kms travelled for 10 litres (which i expect to be 350 or more atleast.) so a bit early here. will let you guys know when i have them figures. an average of 40 kmpl will make me happy though.
Hi Purja any news on the mileage?? Hope you had a great weekend with your new bike

Power has increased. Its total VFM now. What is special is that better features are available at the same price. Got it?

And what are you trying to prove with that silly pic?

If you ask me, even I will say that your views are crap and you are brand opposing. Tell me, have you ridden the new P180 to form such strong opinions?
If you like pulsar this doesn't mean all other will like it
                        and
@ abhijeet - i'll put any image i like - if like well and good and if you don't like i don't give a damn about it .
Take it of leave it. Becoz u can not change it.

                              Oh is it?

Lets see. I dont know where from they procured that 97.2 cc mill that runs in a zillion number of iterations in the form of pluses and supers and limited editions. I am guessing it is from Honda as the initial CD 100's had Honda etched on their engines.

Honda Activa 's Engine in HH Pleasure
                              CRF230's Engine in Zma
(i forgot the model C** 150)'s engine in CBZ Classic
The same engine with a smaller bore for the Ambition
The Unicorns mill for the acheiver
The same with a diff cam for the CBZ X/Hunk

As we can see, everything is from Honda. The engines are all form Honda. They just homologate it here. So can u call them DESI?

And about Honda and Yamaha, come on mate, they have unmatched experience and expertise in the foreign market. They can in no way called DESI.

And BTW, Pulsar was produced after Kawasaki left Bajaj. The design, the engine everything was done IN-HOUSE. It s Indian. And that s why the Pulsar, and the models that followed it(Discover,XCD,etc) are all DESI.
When everything comes ur way, u r in the wrong way ;)
