The first Pulsar was designed (engine and looks) in Japan. Bajaj hired an engineering firm for this job. I am not sure of the later models. It was said that the first completely indigenous bike was the TVS Victor and TVS has won an award from the Government of India for the same.

What I said is something that I remember from what I read years ago. No first hand info.

      • ^ the designs were taken from there (I guess it was Kawasaki R&D) but none of them made it to production. The final product was designed here taking inspiration from the jap designs.

Ahem there may just be the 220 after the new 180 (Bye bye 200)

no the bike is still going on it's only 290 kms as of now. and yeah i've had a nice weekend with the bike. spent a lot of time cleaning the bike. already have some apache guys eager to drag bikes once the run-in is over.

about the clutch, there is an uneasy feeling about the clutch. the first gear kindof slipson to position with a soft clank.

about the gear box. this gearbox is very smooth, does not feel like the gearbox i have read about so much. must be an improvement but gearbox is slick enough and absolutely no false neutrals.

Since the 180 is a totally different machine now (in the context of P180 only) , we should have a ownership UG4 180 thread. It is interesting because refinement levels have gone up further according to the test ride reports of various magazines. It will be also informative to hear from the owners themselves.

na bhai... let me put it this way:
for a newbie or 'which bike' guys, they need info on the different bikes and choose/compare them. so i believe we should have dedicated threads (ownership and first impressions) for all the bikes irrespective of what brand or CC, etc.
so xBhp would be a one-stop solution for choosing the right bike.
hence i do not agree with mixing new P180 UG4 with the 180 all versions thread either.

                          my 2 pncs... peace!!!

Are you sure? Have not been following this thread too much, but has that been said before??

But isnt the XCD engine the Si variant? Did they do the same with the Pulsar engine too?
