Im all but surprised how low maintenance cost of 650f is! Especially compared to benelli! There should be a comparator sheet which should show the maintenance costs of each brands and categories for all to compare!

I think the comparo should be made with the z800, ninja 650,TNT 600 and the street triple. I know all are different motorcycles but they are all middle or upper middle class motorcycles.

I think it'll be better to compare in same engine capacities even if one is a 2 cylinder vs 3 or 4, end of day you're comparing is a similar cc segment.

True , I have specified all completely different bikes , but in the similar category of middle class bikes... Now for example comparing the CBR 650f and the tnt600, both inline 4s but thats where the similarities end, but as I've noticed even tho the CBR being more expensive, it seems to be cheaper to maintain,fewer issues and few more nit bits,

Is my understanding correct that Pirelli Angel GT is C shaped whereas Stock Dunlops or Michelin PRs are D shaped?

650F has other colors available but not in India. In India, this is the only color option available.

I think the service costs would go up to around 4-6K ballpark after first year, once the free services are done.

Well its my opinion, I've seen reviews where they compare the 650f to the z800... Now we can't exactly compare all the bikes related to the specific category because we don't have many options but its obviously much better than a few years back. My honest opinion many would say the z800 has more torque and HP, which is true but I'm not sure how reliable, Honda has more usable power and is lighter,and a better top obviously owing to the fairing and lightness , coming to comparing with benelli, cost of Spares are way too high, a set brake pads cost 4k... That's not a joke, 5-6k for the CBR after free service I suppose is fine because of where the bike stands in the middle segment, only time will tell what more costs you incur, I have had my eye on the 650f since 2014, thought it was a bike which made sense to own.

My perception is very similar to yours. Till now the Honda is going strong and feels well built for a few years.
CBR650F is the bike that actually made me really consider owning a 600. I always believed I will get only 1 shot at buying a big bike and hence wanted to buy a 1000 straight.
Unfortunately 1000s over the years became even more expensive and I could not get enough finances.

CBR650F gives you around 80% of the fun at 50% of the pain. Plus the breadth of abilities mean you can use it more often more comfortably.

new 650 naked launched. exhaust is different i think. So can a custom exhaust be put in? is the inline 4 growl loud enough around as other heavier bikes? hope by 2017 march naked is around at 7.5 lakh.

Saw the new CBR650F. Looks good, although not a lot of changes. I think the biggest are Peak Power gain of around 4-5 BHP, New Showa front suspension and what it seemed from the video, LED lights in front.
The Naked 650 is not coming to India. I have spoken to the Honda dealership here, they are not expecting the naked version to come to India.

In stock form, the bike is very quite. You can fit after market exhaust though, like I have.

Personally the looks of CBR650F and the paint scheme were a huge turn off for me until I laid my eyes on this 2017 model. Wow! That red color paint scheme which matches with the new Fireblade does the trick for me in terms of the looks. The new LED headlight makes the front look tad better than the outgoing version. The slight bump in power due to changes in the exhaust system helps the bike reach close 90 BHP and updates to the suspension (I still dont know what those bending valves do) and improved braking performance from the Nissin calipers makes this bike worthwhile now. I am hoping those annoying vibes which I felt test riding the old 650F is not a part of the new model coming up.

I spoke to Honda and at this moment they don't know when it will be launched in India and if at all the 2016 model would be skipped to directly make way for 2017 sometime in Q2 or Q3 of 2017. I think there will be a bump in price when the new model comes in. Current model is 8.6L Mumbai, god knows how much more premium will the new model bring in. How I wish the dash was updated too

Till last year, honda had no plans to bring the CB650F to India. It has not been even showcased at Auto Expo. They have never shown any intention of launching it. Plus since the dealership here is quite close to HQ, because Honda HQ is in gurgaon I would say they generally have a decent idea.

Things might change, but I am pretty confident honda is not looking to launch the naked version here.

I agree with you. For a big company like Honda, supply chain for multiple colors should not be that big a deal. With CBR650F they have this weird thing going with some markets getting some colors and some other markets getting some other colors.

For me as a current bike user, notable upgrades are the power bump and the LED lights. Shocks and brakes of the current bike are also pretty good. Not sure how much these upgrades would make a difference in the new model though yet till the time some reviews start coming.

I seriously think Honda should not be looking at bumping up the prices. In my opinion they have sold lesser bikes than they mush have originally planned.

Dash definitely deserves a better unit.

They have sold 90 bikes since Dec-15 and I am 100% sure the price will be hiked when the new bike comes in. Honda is not going to give those add ons they have made without making some money. If they don't do it then good for the consumers but don't think they'll retain the same price tag.
