Re: Random Questions regarding the RX series
NO its 6volt although i would like it to converted to 12volts but iam quite confused, the reason for confusion is that whether to change whole wiring, alternator, rectifier, flasher, battery, bulbs to 12volts or should i just change the recitifier, flasher, battery and bulbs to 12volts, all of the mechanics in delhi suggests the latter method but iam not convinced till now so i have not gone for the conversion even if i convert it with the first method then there is very little chance that i would be able to procure all thsese parts.

Re: Random Questions regarding the RX series
ASFAIK you have to change everything starting from the magneto. A generator that produce only 6 v cannot give light to a 12 v bulb and the battery charging may not be proper or will not take place.Originally posted by kusmaker View PostNO its 6volt although i would like it to converted to 12volts but iam quite confused, the reason for confusion is that whether to change whole wiring, alternator, rectifier, flasher, battery, bulbs to 12volts or should i just change the recitifier, flasher, battery and bulbs to 12volts, all of the mechanics in delhi suggests the latter method but iam not convinced till now so i have not gone for the conversion even if i convert it with the first method then there is very little chance that i would be able to procure all thsese parts.
Just changing the magneto only will lead to a bulb blow out as it can't withstand a 12V current.
Wiring you can use the existing ones except for facts such as the sockets will be different. So its better that you change the wiring kit.
Except for the magneto all other parts are easy to get. Magneto too you will get if you do some searching.

Re: Random Questions regarding the RX series
well ihave been searching this magneto for past 15days still not able to source this part,a shopkeeper told me that he is having 135 magneto, wiring, rectifier etc,the make is of minda, but he will have to search it in his shop, so is it okay to use 135 parts in rx-100, do by upgrading the electrical my bike engine will not be reliable, as one of the mechanics was saying this thing that if i change all the setup the bikes piston will erode faster because its been loaded to produce double amount of current with the same engine, can i use 100/90 wiring kit, of which brand , because i want to use 55/60 headlamp, is it possible to convert my bike to full dc,lastly in the previous question i told u that the compression of my bikes engine was 140,when the engine is cold than the compression reading is 150-152,4 , and after some running it comes down to 140,also when i removed the spark plug one spot of the central electrode was black and the remaining portion was little better, the plug was not exactly medium tan more on the darker side but this one spot was black even after two hours of running , my carburettor is set according to the stock setting so what can be the issue, i have written quite a list of problems hope u will bear.

Re: Random Questions regarding the RX series
hello friends, I own a yamaha RX135 and Rxz. Bought the RX 135 one year back and RxZ 98 model 4 months ago.The details are that the RX 135 was built one year back and bored with its second last piston and now there is a serious problem, due to which i am not riding the bike.I fitted discover alloys on the bike but whenever i released the throttle while riding the bike, the chain used to touch the swing arm and made a tak-tak- type sound. Also the chain was loose at some places and tight on the other. After that came back to normal rims but 17inch and now the bike is breaking the bolt mounts of the chain sproket hubafter every 50km.(3times changed it).now what should i do?
Secondly when the bike is in gear and i press the clutch ant try to move it it does not move freely and moves as it is in gear.please helpWITH REGARDS

Re: Random Questions regarding the RX series
^^Change the wheels to stock spokes one. Check for chain sprocket or rather change to new one. Second, your clutch needs to be adjusted so that it moves after released from initial tightness. My suggestion is, don't try to do mods that you don't know the outcome and the consequences, eventually you'll end up wasting time at the garage and money offcourse. Re: Random Questions regarding the RX series
There might be slight weight difference between both, if you can check this then its fine. Apart from the slight weight difference there won't be any problem. Even RX 100 came with a 12 v electrical in the last years.Originally posted by kusmaker View Posta shopkeeper told me that he is having 135 magneto, wiring, rectifier etc,the make is of minda, but he will have to search it in his shop, so is it okay to use 135 parts in rx-100, do by upgrading the electrical my bike engine will not be reliable, as one of the mechanics was saying this thing that if i change all the setup the bikes piston will erode faster because its been loaded to produce double amount of current with the same engine,
Try rddreams lighting kit.
can i use 100/90 wiring kit, of which brand , because i want to use 55/60 headlamp,
I don't think its worth the effort. Let it run AC DCis it possible to convert my bike to full dc
lastly in the previous question i told u that the compression of my bikes engine was 140,when the engine is cold than the compression reading is 150-152,4 , and after some running it comes down to 140,also when i removed the spark plug one spot of the central electrode was black and the remaining portion was little better, the plug was not exactly medium tan more on the darker side but this one spot was black even after two hours of running , my carburettor is set according to the stock setting so what can be the issue.
140 is pretty OK. Check the condition of your reeds too.
Like sriram said change to stock set up and my personal opinion is that any day RX looks best on spoked wheels.Originally posted by atulninja.negi66 View Postfitted discover alloys on the bike but whenever i released the throttle while riding the bike, the chain used to touch the swing arm and made a tak-tak- type sound. Also the chain was loose at some places and tight on the other. After that came back to normal rims but 17inch and now the bike is breaking the bolt mounts of the chain sproket hubafter every 50km.(3times changed it).now what should i do?
Maybe the bolt mount has to do something with the clutch settings. Change the dampers in the hub also.
First try to adjust the cable tension. If the problem still persists, you may have to open up the clutch. The same problem can also occur if there is problem with the spacer in the clutch
Secondly when the bike is in gear and i press the clutch ant try to move it it does not move freely and moves as it is in gear.please help

Reed petals. They should not be too tight or loose.Originally posted by kusmaker View Postwhat is the exact that part of the reeds that i should look into,

Re: Random Questions regarding the RX series
Helo bro, today i went to my mechanic for the checking of the reed valve as i was not having time to look into it bymyself, but after i visited this mechanic i came to conclusion that now i have to check reeds bymyself, when i told hime that i want to get the reeds checked , he came up with new story that bikes crank needs to be rebuild and i should go for next o/s piston,i told him that the compression is fine, he said that crank has nothing to do with the compression, i asked him why is it so he explained that crank keeps on flickering inside and the rings on the piston makes that compression,so that's why my compression reading is fine, so guys i feel he is not saying the right thing instead he is just trying to make the money so need advice from you guys.

How did he came to the conclusion that your crank needs rebuild?Originally posted by kusmaker View Posthe came up with new story that bikes crank needs to be rebuild and i should go for next o/s piston,i told him that the compression is fine, he said that crank has nothing to do with the compression, i asked him why is it so he explained that crank keeps on flickering inside and the rings on the piston makes that compression,so that's why my compression reading is fine,
You suspect there is problem with crank, If some weird sound is coming from the engine (piston slapping) the other way is to open the cylinder and check for excessive play.
Ask him to give a specific answer than beating around the bush. These mechanics if they don't know something they blame it on this and that and take a blind shot. If it gets corrected you are lucky.

Re: Random Questions regarding the RX series
You can get it from any genuine Yamaha parts dealer. I think mandap is the OE supplier of rims.Originally posted by atulninja.negi66 View PostWhere will i get original spoke rims and can i use alloys made for yamaha rx(available in market)?
If you can't get it, buy hero Honda's rim. Those who have used says its better, though I haven't used one.
Alloys especially for a tubed tyre is for aesthetic purpose. You can buy one, and some alloys weigh more than a wired rim. So choice is yours.

Re: Random Questions regarding the RX series
He hasn't got any specific answer just the same old mechanics tale, that if there is sound its got to be from the crank,i dont feel any kind of crank play, infact when the previous mechanic who changed my bikes piston from standard to 2nd o/s , sai that the cranks needs to be rebuild and at that time i didnot suspect him,so he repair the crank, bored the cylinder, but when iasked that the sound he was talking for which he has done this rebuild is still there he said that this sound is natural and not the previous sound of play in the crank, and now this mechanic is also saying the same thing but now i know that alll these mechanics go by hit and trial method bcause they r always in profit whethere there is play or not they will charge there labour, but personally i dont hear any weird noise from the engine, the only thing that is bothering me that no matter how many miles my bike is driven the plug always shows black colour and in the morning my bike sounds like "patar patar", as if the air is lean and too much fuel is going into the cylinder, but as i told u earlier my bikes air screw is set according to the company settings,i will upload my bike video in idling condition so tht u guys can tell me that what needs to be done and tomorrow i will check the reeds by myself and post the snaps ot the reeds,
