  • Im sorry to hear the comments... who says its stupid to use a 4 S barrel on a 5S gearbox... Do u have the gear ratios with you??? because what i remember, the 4S and the 5S both have a same final gear ratio. And i remember reading this in the 5 speed RX135 test ages ago as well.

    So basically the 5 speed allows for better driveability, like the 6 speed does to the GS150R..

    ANd its better to go for a stock 4S barrel than to settle for a 100 barrel once youve done a 5 speed conversion. The 100 can/will take it, but the extra power of the 4S 135 will improve performance further.

    I respect and appreciate the charm of the RX100, but the 135 is faster and has more power ( even though you wont be running either bike at the top speed ). Which suffices the OP's requirement of good low end torque.

    Just reading a 132cc on the side of the block is not gonna change anything. With the money spent on the project and the hardwork involved.

    Really upset

      Very very true & this is exactly my requirement;

      I don't need a top speed of more than 100, but what I need is quick & better acceleration & the ability to stay (cruising) around 80ish.

      The sprocketing of 5S on 4S barrel does this magic - correct me if I'm wrong on this JD.

      • ^^ the higher gear ratio ( rear sprocket/ front sprocket ) will improve torque and low end driveability..

        • Just a few minutes back I saw a HID setup on HH ZMA & was very beautiful; what fascinated me was the bright, white light; I enquired about it & he said it was a chinese make & has been using for last 6 months with no issues; comes with some black box; noticed it, but couldn't understand anything; no wiring changes were required & runs directly on batteries, no winding on alternator or dynamo; costed about Rs 2000;

          Now, after falling in love with that HID setup, I'm planning to shamelessly copy it on to my RX; May be its not possible with the current setup of OE Minda/FIEM dome or does it? Has anyone experimented on it? What're your thoughts?

              Nope. I think they supply on CDI, 100/90 dynamo (if this is what you intend) & uni filters, not sure on the reed valves though.

              • Update
                Bad News - OE Main axle rear stay is not available ; however, an comparitively equivalent model is currently available for almost the same price

                Good News - 12V OE magneto coil for Rx135 old model is available; I'm using the same word he used as "old model" & they confirmed that it is for 4 speed barrel; for newer model, its not available;

                Now I'm in a dilemma whether to go in for this or not; is it worth or not?

                      • Buddy I'm making sure you're talking about OE & from the dealer/distributor & not from someone who has stocked. If yes - I'M MORE THAN INTERESTED
                        I'm aware of equivalent model in Coimbatore, but I'm not interested, I need only an OE - you know me better

                        • ^^ its been lying with him for quite sometime now.. So you might or actually should change the swingarm bushing, but it will do your work.. Actually why dont you just get your swing arm re-painted, and change the bush... iirc, i pointed out to change the bush only if you get OEM bush.

                          • Yes, painting is suffice as its still in good condition; but the thing is when I change everything, should change everything - clean quality job; you never know which is the lose nut until it falls down - hope you got what I mean.
