Fake??? But they were bought from authorized distributor.
Infact, Y.A.S.S also had both the grades. They specifically told about the difference on both of them & asked which one do I need. What do you think? Would Y.A.S.S also sell a fake one? Is that possible?

Thanks buddy. I assume, 6 plates to be 6 friction plates with 5 clutch plates.

        • One more information about the clutch plates; enquired thoroughly they're not fake ones, looks like the newer ones are being imported for durability. Could someone confirm this? I enquired with 2-3 people here in Chennai, if someone can confirm from other parts, this will help our RX community. My existing clutch plates (old model) are worth only for 9.5K kms, they started slipping now.

            • These are some of the part that I bought yesterday, basically clutch assy. But I'm missing the bolt-nuts & the spring; they're not to be found. Can someone help me with those OE's pls?

                • Well, if it were available in any of Y.A.S.S, then somehow the info comes to me - don't ask me how. Worst case, I'll use existing. I'll give a try over next week. Thanks for the info.

Oh!!! BTW - did I update you? 2wheelers India did not have the old model of OE Minda Yamaha keys. Bad luck for me.

                  • ^^ Well, I went to Paras for buying clutch plates, there the guy also offered springs and clutch boss. Ah, that was in the month of March, I thought would still get lucky.

Yes, you updated on the Minda OE lock set that was not available in 2Wheeler India.

Can give a shot at Noor Auto at Pudupet unless you do not have any problem.

Oh!!! Yes buddy I need them, I PM'd you long back on this; IIRC, you'd mentioned it one of the post & I'd asked for it. Its not the key set that has black plastic cap, what I need is the original steel based one.

                          • Finally I'm getting the front fork assy as the bill has been invoiced by Yamaha . But I'll keep my fingers crossed until I get them this weekend. Fortunately I'll not be running out of cash this month to procure things. I hope to keep a deadline for this rebuild as it has been 5 months now (time flies) in simply procuring the parts & still I'm missing few more of them. I'll probably reserve the entire last week of May starting 23 or 24th onwards; anyway it depends on leave from office too. Right now the target is to ride the phoneix - the rebuilt motorcycle to the tri state get together.

@JD - That was a fantastic piece of idea you gave me regarding the forks to procure it locally. Appreciate it.

                            • Just spoke with Yamaha India over the toll free & enquired about the 100 & 135 cylinders; people out here, pls don't LOL for the reply she gave. She said, "the parts are under production in Japan and they will be available in June 2010". So I asked her about the previous commitment on Apr 2010 & she said that the current update is June 2010 (poor soul, I didn't want to bombard her with any more questions).

Then I asked her about the orders being cancelled by Yamaha on certain parts. So she provided me an email ID - [email protected] & asked to email for the parts & depending upon the parts availability, they will be shipped to the dealership.

PS - It took a whole 5 minutes to get someone over the phone.
Attempt 1 - No ring, absolute silence
Attempt 2 - Rings about 5-6 times, then heard someone picking up followed by music
Attempt 3 - Rings about 5-6 times & the call is answered
