  • Ok, these're all the things I need
    1. RHS L bracket (on the kicker side)
    2. RXZ disc model's right side front suspension bottom
    3. Tube guide, Ring leaf (on the RHS throttle side)
    4. Fuel Tank Cap lock
    5. Centre stand (this is fine, I almost have it)

Good to see the list of parts coming down, but I'm trying to keep off cool & keep the excitement down. Too much of work load, too many days to take leave during June in addition, leave for rebuild. God alone save me. Pray nothing should go wrong, otherwise, I lose time on fixing them.

    • Whoa!!! bursted a part of savings, not much, but still savings are savings, the moment you touch them you know how precious they're. All of a sudden I'm beginning to feel the pinch of losing large sum of money this month; not worth telling the money spent on the shopping this month; anyway, I guess it should be forgotten once the motorcycle is ready. Here're some more parts that I brought today. The RVM's belongs to my friend*

*He assumed I would give him the RVM's; instead, I would give him laddoos

That means, money is also fast disappearing , I'm almost left with Rs 150 in all my banks put together & have about 6 more days to run. Thanks to the new age credit cards, otherwise...

            • where exactly are you buying these parts from...have u hunted for parts in puthupet... there is a shop which was recommended to me by everybody there while i was there its called vsr or ksr or something like that i know the exact location not the name though... btw try to source some of the non critical parts from outside it will come out cheaper than oem just look out for the brands fr example for lighting fixtures go for ones made by lumax/feim /swiss/minda

              • Will you believe me, if I tell that, I haven't purchased even a single washer from Pudhupet so far? All of the parts are sourced only from Authorized Yamaha Dealership/Distributor/Stockist.

My immediate requirement is to get a brand new Yamaha RX; long term ambition...well lets keep that closed for now

                • well done bro ! hats off to your patience & effort ! your dream bike will soon be ready ! i am sure you will be jumping up & down when that happens

just a small query,i see you have got a 4s speed head,i guess you are building a RX100 right ? any reasons for why you have got a 135 head ?

also what colour you are going to paint your bike ? how about the Classic Sliver which came in the early 80's ?

                  • @Codezero - Pls go through the pages to understand the project. Also see the title of 3 variants as what has gone in the rebuild. Appreciate your patience to read them & welcome to the forum & do post an intro on the relevant section.

Color is black, I cannot change it as I like RX black & don't want to undergo the hassles of changing the color from the RC.

                            • Guys - just need a help from you; the mech is quoting about 3.5K as labour. Is this normal? The work includes the following
                              1. Day 1 Evening - Completely dismantle the motorcycle
                              2. Day 2 & 3 - Assemble the motorcycle with all the new parts
None of the old parts needs to be given & the entire work will be carried out at his garage.

Another question - He charged about 2K for sleeving an old cylinder to standard size & the standard size pistons were being provided by me. Is this nominal or a rip off?

                              • Rs.3.5K is what I was quoted for (RX135 4S job) the work mentioned by you by DTW. Disassemble and then re-assemble with new parts in four hours flat. Followed by a day of 'testing', 'running-in' mechanic ishtyle (with bike in idle) and delivery in the evening. 1Year or 25,000kms warranty/gurantee don't remember now.

                                DTW is considered a rip-off, aren't they

                                Sleeve job no idea.
