Just had an idea of sending a group email to the said email ID & other Yamaha email ID asking for parts. Can we all RX lovers in XBHP send a group email & ask? How would Yamaha respond? What do you think?

If Yamaha is least bit serious about getting its "performance" tag back should take it well and come back with a positive reply. But from a business perspective I don't think they ain't gonna gain much other that the "good will"Originally posted by aargee View Postall RX lovers in XBHP send a group email & ask? They may not because, it may not worth the effort for them. But could happen the other way too. This is a false promise they've been giving since last, say October atleast, on cylinders. Why does it take so long to produce? The vendors are here, they were producing, they know how to do & all it requires is a word "go".Originally posted by yzfrj View PostIf Yamaha is least bit serious about getting its "performance" tag back should take it well and come back with a positive reply.
But I'm wondering, is it not possible to contact one of those guys who were manufacturing the cylinders for Yamaha India over here & get one done as they would have all their moulds readily available & besides they would know the specifications too? I'm sure Yamaha India would've subcontracted this work to some small-medium manufacturing company. From the stock cylinder's quality, I don't think they were made in Japan.
All this just for a Goodwill? They're already cashing on FZ & R15. Lately, I've been noticing too many R15's on the road. Earlier, it used to be one in a week, then turned out 1 in a day, the other day I remember seeing 2 or 3 of them & at different location & not in groups. To them, RX customers are oldies & they're not targetting their motorcycle only for today's youngsters who are interested in knowing that their new purchase will beat RX series.Originally posted by yzfrj View PostBut from a business perspective I don't think they ain't gonna gain much other that the "good will"Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

If I'm lucky enough, I should be having the fork assy, 12V magneto assy & steering top plate by say before end of next weekend; now that leaves me only with the following parts to procure
1. Rear swing arm
2. Springs & bolts for clutch assy
3. Engine casing
4. Transmission assy (if possible)
5. and what else?
I should take an inventory of stocks this weekend. May be clutch & brake levers, the rubber pads to cover them, yokes, spacers in front & rear wheel & these should be available easily I guess.
Spokes from old Honda Unicorn, not sure if it would be a direct fit to RX. Can someone guide me here pls?Last edited by aargee; 05-06-2010, 10:02 PM.Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

Ganesh,Originally posted by aargee View PostJust spoke with Yamaha India over the toll free & enquired about the 100 & 135 cylinders; people out here, pls don't LOL for the reply she gave. She said, "the parts are under production in Japan and they will be available in June 2010". So I asked her about the previous commitment on Apr 2010 & she said that the current update is June 2010 (poor soul, I didn't want to bombard her with any more questions).
Then I asked her about the orders being cancelled by Yamaha on certain parts. So she provided me an email ID - [email protected] & asked to email for the parts & depending upon the parts availability, they will be shipped to the dealership.
PS - It took a whole 5 minutes to get someone over the phone.
Attempt 1 - No ring, absolute silence
Attempt 2 - Rings about 5-6 times, then heard someone picking up followed by music
Attempt 3 - Rings about 5-6 times & the call is answered
I have checked before to the email [email protected] , got the reply as "Available from July2010". Reason is due to recent pollution norm change, the bore will be available from July onwards.

great idea we can do it bcz vendors are looting us .they remove the original price tags and demanding what they want.if we are going to showroom the parts are not available and we tell them to send the part no. the req is declined only new bikes parts no. is excepted....................its very frustrating what should we do. compare to other bikes block pistons the rx is 2 or 3 time more expensiveOriginally posted by aargee View PostSame here dude. @Swingarm - I'm quite happy that you're following my parts keenlyOriginally posted by swingarm View PostProvided if you use the Honda Rims.
, however, can you believe that there're a tons of parts that I should still be buying
Here're few things that I bought yesterday. I'm very grateful to SriramEFunds for sourcing the engine assembly (Crankcase set). Here're some of the parts that I bought yesterday
I still have long list to purchase, not sure if all this can be done within a month or so. Anyway, if I'm unable to obtain the parts such as Swing arm, RHS bracket, then I'll go in for painting in those.
Question - I was being told that the crankcase assy & outer cover has to be painted. Reason, I was being told is that, Yamaha now ships the metal as bare & its left to the customers to paint them. Is this true? Anyone pls let me know. Thanks.
Thanks for that J, but they've been telling this for almost a year now & I will not trust them this time. But, let us hope that I was wrongOriginally posted by kjayakannan View PostI have checked before to the email [email protected] , got the reply as "Available from July2010". Yup. Thats why the date again postponed to July 2010.Originally posted by satishg View PostThat means the new cylinders will be restricted ones I mean BS-4 ? !!!
Also when I inquired one of the sales executive person from Yamaha he told that 2007-2009 only around 2000 OEM bores are purchased from Yamaha as per his comments. He is simply saying its just 8 or 16 hrs production job for Yamaha but due to less sale they increased the price as well. But how many people like you ordering OEM? Very few he saying every body is giving bike to the mechanic and he is putting the grey market spares.
Some of the points I guess its correct.

One more hard truth - Only people who're hard core RX fans would try restoring. Others?
1. Buy the motorcycle our of curiosity just because of the hype on RX
2. Buy thinking it will turn R15 & ZMA to dust & only find out their mistake to have compared between the classic & modern & regretSkill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

Oh!!! Yes, I did order this number plates from Utsav; I need to Thank Bluevolt for this for 2 reasons
1. I first saw this number plate physically on his Ninja & was impressed
2. He recommended this site recently to person who bought a white speed bird
The experience of buying from Utsav & support was more than superb; the support through was email was lightning mail & truly they provide an exceptional service. Let me summarize through the incidents since Friday
Around 11:00 - Mail to Utsav asking for clarification between Utsav plates & HSRP
Around 12:00 - Recd satisfactory reply from Utsav & made the payment & asked them to acknowledge
Around 13:00 - Recd an acknowledgment email & confirmation that the shipping will be done Friday evening
Around 11:45 Saturday - Received the Utsav plates through Blue Dart courier
