  • Is this a myth or truth?

Ever since I changed to AGIP Diesel engine oil, the gears are getting better. I wouldn't say they're smooth, but atleast, I've some predictability now from what it used to be.

Still I feel the metal scrapping noise when I shift gears (be it high to low or low to high), but atleast with one tap the gears are getting shifted. Also from the stage of NEVER possible to shift down several gears at once, now, it is POSSIBLE to change them now.

Is it due to normal wear & tear or with the Diesel engine oil, I don't know. But its fare better now.

          • Aargee: When we have so many options in 2stroke (two wheeler) oil. Wonder what makes you to choose Diesel oil for a petrol driven vehicle.

Having said, as long as it is not going to hurt the engine, fine.

Waah!!! You know what? I was about to buy MGP 20W-50 that's used in my WagonR; I dismissed that thought & finally settled for this one. Reason? Previous experience with Castrol CRB!!!

What to do Sri? I'm running for such things at last moment; I think I need to follow your steps on stocking oil. Already Wifey & Mother are in the verge of throwing me out of home, if I talk like stocking things, then they're going to dump me in the car shed for ever!!! I'll take a pic & post here!!!

Actually, its not fine with me; I need to use that Motul kind of stuff, since I'm not having option to run around now, I choose bad among the worst!!!

never use engine oils for petrol cars on bikes, it will lead to clutch slippage

                  • Thanks for the link @KB100.

My latest update on a 275 Kms round trip from Chennai-Tirupati
I could clock 100, though shifting gears are still to become smooth. Otherwise, Rx did its job well. I'm now beginning to suspect the "tuck tuck" sound from the chain due to rear wheel. I guess the alignment is worn out slightly & needs truing.

Another observation is that the wheel is tending to move slightly (say about 1-2 mm) after which the rear sprockets move. I suspect the rubber dampners inside the rear wheel. Is my assumption right?

If yes, I don't think this is a normal wear & tear caused for just over 2K kms isn't it?

Any relevant answer is highly appreciated. Tks.

I'm looking to buy a new Rx100 cylinder & piston assembly. I enquired about this with a dealer here in Chennai & they gave me a strange answer. However, I'm going to try that, meanwhile, I thought I could discuss about this in our community & take your opinion.

They asked me to send an email to Yamaha customer care & request for the parts & ship them to the nearest dealer. They provided me a contact number - 0120 2351193 stating that this is Yamaha's customer care number.

I'm wondering if this is the case in every city. Pls post your thoughts. Thanks.
This is the same problem in Bangalore also. The engine kit for RX100,135,RXZ and the 5-Speed varients are not available anywere here also.

I had written regarding the same issue to YAMAHA ([email protected] and [email protected]) some time back and got a reply that these parts are going to be available only by next year April due to some unavoidable reasons, as the Part is under development at overseas. I have tried my luck with the Delhi dealers and they too dont have RX-100 cylinder kits with them.

So in the mean while i was searching for other alternatives and found a supplier for the 100 and 135 cylinder kit. If this is of any help to you.

Apart from this there are many kits available from China also but can really comment about the quality. There are Malayasian bores available here in Banagalore for 135.

                        FYI..

I called the number given above and spoke with Vinod (could not get the last name). He said he is the manufacturer of bores and supplies all over India.

He does not have any 'Yamaha Box piece' with him. However, he manufactures bores for 100, 135. For RX100 he has got the piece made ready for sale. For RX135, would take 15 days to manufacturer. He also said that so far he had not got any complaints from the customer and his bore kits sells hot cakes according to him. All bore kit comes with Goezte power piston.

He has Malaysian and Taiwan make bore kits which accoding to him has got good finish. When asked about the Malaysian bore out put(bhp), he had no idea but said it is compatible.

There are many such suppliers in India today who are into manufacturing their own bore kits for RX100/135. The good thing is, they honestly reply that its not OE stuff, but an after market option for the needy ones.

Better to use a used 4TL00 or 4TL10 block for RX135 than to end up using such alternative stuff which is going to only hamper the performance.

I receive so many calls everyday enquiring about bore kits for RX135 & i do have a tough time explaining & educating them about the difference between the OE kit & the after market stuff along with the pros & cons. As far as engine parts are concerned i never ever deal in anything other than OE parts of Yamaha.

Dont waste money on this stuff. Its utter crap. I know from first hand experience. The amazing thing is that there are zillions of people blinded by this malaysia/thai/china bore stories who spend 6k+ to buy this crap kit.

Most of them will have a black finish on the fins around the bore. Local make/cheap import. Definitely has to be avoided.

In regards to the above post... Does any one in b'lore been to a place called MCC (Motor Cycle Company) on JC Road? He has bore kits for RX-100 - they look like crap... He says he has got it from Indonasia. I tried to get some specs (piston make (ART, Goteze), the batch number engraved on the clyinder Y1, G1, E2 etc...) None of it is there.

I tried to explain him the reason for not buying that it's not about money, but it's the love for the bike that I dont want to buy and that guy got personal and started shouting at me

I am a newbie, would fellow bangaloreians share their experience @ MCC?

Oh by the way, he sells those crap-kits for 5.5K
