@Karthik - Yes YMIS doesn't service cylinder & pistons & that's the reason they ask to order a new one. Even if you notice, the standard size pistons & rings are available from YMIS, however the oversize pistons are available from Goetze & not from YMIS, which means YMIS does not recommend rebore. I guess that's the case with any manufacturer including todays modern motorcycles.Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

@Karthik - Yamaha will not care who is restoring the bike. They cannot be involved re-engineering of used parts. They mean instant money across the counter for the parts. In this case, they do not have stock for the reason best known only to them.
FYI, all bike manufacturers have good size their earnings from selling spares.
You might have hardly heard A.S.S saying 'we can service the part rather than buying new one'. NO, they always wanted to put in a new part on your vehicle. They convince the customers saying that if new one is installed would be long lasting and durable.RX100 1996 | Karizma 2004 | Karizma-R 2011 | RXZ 1999 | RX 135 1998 | RX 100 1993 | CBF150 2005 - 2011

I dont understand why guys here have misunderstood what i had asked for ?
I am editing the original post with my query to them as well.
I had asked for new bore-kits & crank shafts & never ever asked for servicing the same.
Btw, as far as i know, brand new 5-speed bore-kits & crank shafts are no longer available atleast in Bangalore & Mysore.Last edited by karthikdattag; 06-08-2010, 06:36 PM.

Yamaha India sells ART piston sets for 0.25mm & 0.5mm sizes. Its a factory boxed item. Let me know if you need any !!Originally posted by aargee View Post@Karthik - Even if you notice, the standard size pistons & rings are available from YMIS, however the oversize pistons are available from Goetze & not from YMIS, which means YMIS does not recommend rebore. So guess, they do support re-boring upto atleast 2 sizes.
I have never heard anything about Goetze or Godzilla for that matter.

Yamaha RX 135 Piston-Cylinder Kits & Crank Shafts
Dear Sir,
This has with reference to scarcity of Cylinder kits for Yamaha RX135 (4 & 5 Speed versions). It is observed that in places like Bangalore / Mysore there are no Bore kits / Crank Shafts available at all. The last of which was avaialble was sold at close to Rs.9,000/- per piece for Cylinder kits which is way more than the company fixed MRP.
I would really like to know when will these essential spares be made available ?
FYI, the dealer in Mysore has no stock at all & is selling imported Cylinders (Black colour) for Rs.5,900/- with ART piston. We don't even know if these Cylinders are genuine !!
With Regards,
Karthik Datta
The manager here is trying to tell that there is no possibility of manufacturing any more Piston-Cylinder kits for RX135.
I have never heard of servicing a Piston-Cylinder kit !!!!!
P.S: If any one of you have a mail from a senior member from Yamaha India assuring you that parts will be made available for RX series, then kindly share them here as i have done. My mail here clearly says a big NO to any futher manufacturing. So better accept the fact & move on...

Karthik - I don't know what has happened, but in the morning I got a different picture than what it is now. I also see this in your post
"Last edited by karthikdattag; Today at 05:20 PM"
So I don't have much to comment on what was there in the morning or is it misunderstood by both of of us.
Also the above line forces one to get carried awayPlease inform the customer that cylinder piston kit is not serviceable due to manufacturing constraints
Yes, pls get me one 0.20 & 0.25mm boxed item with bill from Y.A.S.S; I'm willing to transfer the money. I presume it should contain piston, rings, bearing & circlips, correct me otherwise.Originally posted by karthikdattag View PostYamaha India sells ART piston sets for 0.25mm & 0.5mm sizes. Me too haven't heard or said anything on Godzilla, but I leave my comments on Goetze to other RX experts
Edit - On a hunch I was just checking on a different thread where someone actually sent an email to YMIS asking for the availability of cylinder kits; here's the links for you

Ok I'll get them personally or through sources. Atleast let us know the name of the Y.A.S.S dealership, I'll ask any of my friends to visit & get it & shipped it for me. There's no point driving down from Chennai to Mysore & returning empty handed right?Originally posted by karthikdattag View PostYes, it has all that you have mentioned.
