This article on Yamaha RX100 was published way back in May 2007 in Deccan Herald (One of the leading news papers in Karnataka) Bangalore edition. I liked it & thought would share the same with one & all. Enjoy the read.

    - Karthik..

RX owners rave about the sheer power in the machine that thrills them no end and helps build a macho image for the rider.

Bangalore is slowly emerging as a hub for the RX. The RX stable comprises only two strokes namely the 135, 100, RXZ and the RXG. The RX models have a resale value despite their age. A good one would fetch atleast Rs 16,000 and this is regardless of the fact that it is a 13-year-old one.

The huge advantage in having an RX 100 is that spare parts are readily available across the counter. Also in abundance are professional mechanics.

        • Bring back RX!

Is there even a miniscule chance that we can sort of go to the Yamaha dealers/offices and push them to bring the RX100? If not the bike itself the spares at least?

Fix a date, have a rally or something across India? Would have an impact...No?

            • ART Piston

Anybody aware if "ART" piston sets are available for Yamaha RX135, sizes: 0.75mm & 1.00mm. I am looking for the series '4Y2' only.

Any clues/leads will be highly appreciated. I am really not interested in brands like TOP / TOP PRO / Mahle / Godzilla etc etc.

Just want to know if any piston can be used for 0.75mm & 1.00mm sizes in lines of "ART" & "Wiesco". The intent is for race use & not street use.

              Thanks.

              • Godzilla?? you mean Goetze rt? Never Heard of 3rd/4th overs from ART. You might have to go bigbore using some other bikes piston like the DT or IT etc. you get Wisecos/ PROX/ ART for them.

Yes. I will rather not run my bike than using that Godzilla. And yes 0.75mm ART does exist. I am trying my best to source one. Once i have it, i shall post a pic.

As far as big-bore project is concerned, i am not very keen on doing it. The STD sleeve will of be no use for this big-bore project. I mean its really crazy to convert from 132cc to 174cc just to use good pistons.

Anyways i am still clueless as to where to get those lovely "ART" upsize pistons, but i am quite sure i will have one someday.

Well, sure proves that oversize (Beyond 0.5mm) ART does exist. The cylinder looks very nice, i am sure this is the OE RX-K cylinder. Any idea how is it different from our 4TL10 barrel?

                                Thanks for sharing.
