anyone riding to LEH from bangalore this year?
hey i am planning to ride to leh this year from bangalore. my idea is to form a small group or may be be a part of one. any inputs from the ex LEH riders would be of added help.

Hello,
After staying the night at Pangong lake, i plan to visit Marsimik la the next day.
Is Pangong - Marsimik la - Pangong - Leh possible in a day?
As I am already crossing chang la the previous day, this day there won't be any breaks just for photography.. Is it possible or bit too much for a day?
Any other suggestions are also welcome

Hi I'm Pranay from Pune,just in the initial stages of planning a ladakh(manali-leh route) ride from 30th,31st May to 14th,15th June.Honestly speaking,I'm fine with any plan which covers khardung la and Pangong.(most of us do plan to cover this anyway i guess).Looking for a few riders with similar dates ,it'll be my first time to this region so riders with a bit of experience would be great.Comment

Hello guys,
as per the new intrusion my chinese army is it gonna effect the leh tour calendar this year.
offcourse the famous places of leh ladakh are far from the places of tension, but still there will be now heavy presence of army and it would also lead to non-permit to some of the places.
Some of my friends who where joining for this year ride are moving up to go on back foot.
Moreover the tensions prevailing in Northern India due to acquisition of Sajjan kumar and death of Sarabjit Singh would surely lead to road blockades and more tension.
what do you all say guys on all these scenarios.

Hi Nuck, even i am getting leh'd this year and would be starting from Bangalore self. My plans are from 15th june to 30th june. Are you planning for solo ride or moving in a group.
you can go through the previous links and you will get some good inputs too.

The intrusion by the Chinese army has made me uneasy.. Will it affect getting permits or any other things..
It will be immensely helpful if anyone who has taken the Srinagar - Leh road and been there recently or anyone who has contacts in Leh can comment on this..
I am riding there in second/third week of June and it will be excruciating if they don't issue the permits, especially for pangong..Comment

It is hard to say what kind of effect the Chinese intrusion will have on permits. Intrusions are pretty common and have been happening for decades all along the LAC and in Arunachal.
