i have changed my pulsar ug 2 s headlight unit to classic unit.it is the BEST MOD i have done till date
.
i used the full front unit of tvs fiero fx fiem clear lance reflector with a bixenon 4300k hid.the light throw and output seems to increase as the focus and throw of the light is too good.ITS NOWHERE COMPARABLE TO THE OLD UG 3 S REFLECTOR I WAS USING.
as of any mods i faced some problem and thinking of to get around them.first one is where to place the ballast properly.
second one is the place of wires are very less because the bixenon takes so much of space so have to place the headlight dome a little bit front.
i will update with pictures as soon a s possible.sigpic
RIDE AND DRIVE SAFE AND PLEASE CHANGE THE PICTURE ON INDIAN ROADS.

Sir,i own a yamaha crux,upon reading the post i want to convert my bike to full dc after magneto coil winding,can any one help me,i want a brighter headlight,because i am finding it difficult to drive in nights.i identifier 4+2 wires coming out from magneto,of the four wires,one yellow is for headlight,other three wires white,blueand black functions are not known,without these three+2 wires bike fails to start.how to proceed further?

Check which of these wires go to RR unit and which to CDI unit? BTW, why do you need the wires? Sir,can you help me upgrade my headlights to xenon by upgrading my stator coli?i am in india,my bike yamaha crux,got 6 wires coming from stator,2 seperate and 4 seperate,of the four-one yellow is headlight winding,but all 6 goes into rr unit,how to proceed?

sir,thanks for your reply,
all the six wires from stator goes to the rr unit,my headlight is 12v,35watts halogen bulb,i want to increase the power.so i thought i could do the coil rewinding and put a bigger battery and install a 65watts halogen bulb or xenon.of the six wires 2 wirs are seperate and four wires are seperate.i want to know the working details of this rr unit,i will be very happy if you can you help me.

It can not be 6 wires to the RR unit. Please recheck. Thanks sir,today i will verify the wires going to rr unit.
i have an idea-unground the coil wire supplying headlight,bring it out and connect a additional rr unit to it and feed the battery.the second rr unit is additional to charging the battery with stock rr still functioning.remove the existing 2.5 ah battery,install a new 5 or 7 ah battery,put a xenon bulb and feed it from the battery,will this work?
if rewinding is possible i will do it,if this will support i will do this,what do you feel?regarding xenon,how many amps of current will it draw?how many ah battery will this charging method support?last week when i tried to open the magneto cover i saw oil coming out,so i closed it,do i have to drain the oil before opening the cover,iam electronics and communication engineering graduate,with little knowlegde in automobile.regarding coil rewinding i know a person who winds coil for heavy motors and pump sets,i can get it done through him.please reply.Last edited by l_gbabuin; 11-10-2010, 03:29 PM.

sir,you can easily find it on your own,check which part of the relay has failed,whether the relay coil or contacts?if it is contact then go for higher contact ratings.if it is coil,check the voltage to the coil,if it is high add a series resistor so that the relay is just able to hold,and the coil current is just above the coil holding current.

I do not favour a second RR unit. HIDs will take upto 4A or so. Yes, some bikes have stator coil dipped in engine oil, but not all bikes have it that way. dear abijeet,iam sorry as i was wrong,today only i found out the rr unit which was under the petrol tank,previously i was confusing cdi unit with rr unit.also opened the magneto cover and traced and photographed the coil windings.
in magneto there are 8 coils,all connected in series,with black being grounded and white being the end of 8th coil.yellow is tapped from 6th coil.now black,yellow,white goes to rr unit,red comes out of rr goes to battery as well as to cdi.yellow wire is connected to headlight parallel too rr input.when battery connected and rr unit removed also bike engine starts and runs.
now i need your suggestion,
1.unground the black wire in magneto,connect ape rr in white and black,feed output to big battery and cdi.put a xenon hid from battery.no need for changing winding.
2.wind all 8 poles with 19swg,unground magneto black,connect to ape rr,feed big battery from rr,use xenon hid or 65watts halogen,
of the above 2 methods,which do you suggest?i usually drive slow 35-40km/hr,and 15km/day usually.
i need your suggestion,thanks,awaiting your reply.
