    Hi,
I bought Pulsar 200 NS. The recommended oil by company is Bajaj DTS-I 10000 [Grade : 20W50 API 'SL' or JASO 'MA'].
I got my first service at 451 kms. They used Bajaj engine oil.

But some how I seriously doubt the quality and durability of this oil. So, I was thinking of getting my oil changed at 1500 kms. And then go for 2nd service at 2500 km and then the oil will be changed again. Will this process be good for the vehicle ?

I want to know, Which Engine oil should I use @1500 and @2500 kms ?

This is what I'm thinking, I guess
@1500 km - Same Bajaj Engine Oil [as it will last 1000 km or so.]
@2500 km - Fully Synthetic Engine Oil [ Please advice which one? ]
try valvoline premium 4t 20w50. Its a semi-synth oil, much much better than bajaj oil. And still if you want to have FS oil, motul 300v is the best full synth oil money can buy.
P.s. Make it sure they won't void warranty if you use after market oil.

    • Is hero honda genuine 10w30 oil safe for my 2002 model splendor? the manual says 20w40 oil should be used.

if 20w40 is to be strictly used, then i will have to buy a different brand since HH no more stocks 20w40.

which brand 20w40 oil do i buy and what will be the cost for 900ml bottle?
for comparison, HH 4T Plus 10W30 costs Rs.215/-

Yes,old manuals recommend 20w40 but Honda shifted to a 10w30 specifically made for it.so you can go ahead and use it. If you're not satisfied with it,then you can try motul 20w40 or shell ax7 10w40

use 20w40 (from motul or valvoline) if your daily one way running is ~10kms or more. Prices (MRP) are between 210rs to 270rs. HP racer 4t (available in 10w30 & 20w40) costs less than 180rs.

and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

#i have learnt to manipulate my own adrenaline and the perception of biking is different.
              #overkill is underrated.
#how random roads may appear there is always a destination.sigpic
#i don't subscribe to co-incidence,either it is the rider or the other moron on the road

(:)people keeps on saying add spark to life, bajaj got hold of that idea and added an extra spark to bike.

              • Thank you all for the kind suggestions regarding 20w40 oil brands.
Iam a little fuzzy when it comes to oil types.
The ones you are recommending to me are synthetic or mineral?
Is the HH 10w30 mineral oil?

                  Currently using TVS Tru4 = 10w30 (SS)

HH 10w30 is a mineral oil . There are a few synthetic oils available in this grade .
There are no synthetic oils in 20w40 grade that I know of here , so if it is a 20w40 you can be certain that it is a mineral oil .
How many kms on your Splendor yet ?

well, users have used fs from beginning itself. But its better to continue with mineral or ss for at least 6-7k kms. Old & Trusted method.

try motul 5100 or shell ax7. Use 10w40 grade.
Edit: and change oil every 2000km or 6 months whichever is earlier
