actually i have just booked 390 today.was hard enough convincing family for this.now when i present the case of jacket and a new better spec helmet its like...'whaaaaaat?!'
i use a pretty old vega half face and that flimsy motocross dupe type.already opposition for changing from motocross helmet as i have maintained it well.but quality wise vega is not up there.so any price reduction is welcome.i believe the apparel/jacket price is same all over india.same as said in spg site?i read that here itself.man,is there any offer whatsoever from spg for deewali that u know of?would help a lot if they have some kind of promotional or festive offers.intend to get the sol sf1(preferred)/ss1 or any other model plus the helios jacket in phase 1.gloves and knee protectors to follow.
multiple times of saying 'abs on the 390,blah blah' had no effect on family.so already scoffing off at the idea of spending money on a jacket/"coat".

Thanks guys, my bad luck that I did not get the ear plugs as SOL doesnt give it out any more (As per Lets Gear up guys). Is it sold separately? I have never used earplugs.

I checked the visor. It is sitting tight no loose stuff. Need to see on the next ride what the cause is and somehow fix it. It becomes maddening after a while.

The whistling sound will be present in almost every helmet post a certain speed, how is the helmet fit? Is it snug or is it loose at certain places?

Also if you do need the earplugs I got an unused set lying around, you can have it

The helmet is very snug, no movement when worn.

It will be great to get the plugs from you. PM me on when you will be free and where you stay. I can drop by and will be good to meet you

The helmet is oozingly gorgeous, congo. You made Bachoo Motors' day a good day with all that purchase. BTW, do post your review on the Rjays Gloves, you bought the Canyon?

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Thanks! Yes, it was a splurge. But their prices are good so it felt worth. Yes, its the Canyon gloves. Seem pretty good. Haven't used them, actually it was purchased for my bro-in-law who had accompanied me. I already have Alpine Stars that I got from DSG Pune long time back. These Rjays Canyon are 2500, so its half the price of my A Stars, but seem to be equally good.

hello everyone!
ummm I need a new helmet somewhere around the range of 10k
I have previously owned a sparx, which was not such a good experience and a yohe which saved my head twice!
I recently sold my duke 200 and I am currently waiting for the 390 . But since my current lid has already been through two accidents I think its time to replace it although it doesn't show any major damage apart from a few scratches.
So what will you guys suggest within the budget. I will be using it mainly for touring purposes on the 390.
When life gives you Yamaha, make it RD350 not R15. :D

jeevan.life If your helmet has vents try closing some of them when riding at high speeds. That might help too. But earplugs are the best remedy.

I had all the vents closed but still the whistling continued. Thanks to lets gear up folks, they arranged 1 set of earplugs for me. I am planning a 2 day ride tomorrow, will check it out and post here if I have further doubts.

HJC , KBC are your options i guess, or you can go for the ls2 carbon fiber, but i think it costs 12k or something.

Okay so I have owned the Sol dragon 68S for close to two months... the helmet is really good but I had major issues with the flashy orange colour. I originally wanted the matte black in SF1 but due to unavailability and my urgent need I had to settle for the dragon.

Finally had the last two days free and had the material required so decided to give my SOL 68S a much needed custom paintwork.

The visors clip had broken about a week back while I was cleaning and hence got a new light tint visor too. Visor costs Rs. 973 incl of taxes (bangalore)

Used a 2000 grit paper and wet sanded the helmet surface, then one layer clear coat, one layer of wet black coat and one layer of dry black coat to get the desired matte finish. Finally finished of with a nice rubbing wax touch.

Are KBC helmets better than HJC ? Cause I find them more decent looking. Also what about Airoh ? Can I get one within 10k ?

And can anyone guide me as to where can I get KBC helmets in Delhi apart from Karol Bagh, cause I dont really trust those dealers there.

That is a trick question IMO.

The models of both brands currently available in India under the Rs.10k level represents their starting range and therefore not their best. Some brands because of their lower cost structure will be able to offer you technically better products at a lower price than higher price products of another brand, so unless you are technically sound, you might end up paying more for a lower spec helmet simply because of brand recall or snazzy graphics. I would suggest that you first do a recon of the helmet brands available, note the model numbers that interest you and then do your independent research into the tech specs of each model. You might be surprised by the results!

I would NOT recommend buying ANY helmets from Kbagh in Delhi either given that almost all are fakes. I would recommend that you check with the availability of both these helmet brands with their authorised dealer, which is PRS in Mumbai, though I think that PRS has discontinued (please check first) KBC/Sparx due to the unchecked and rampant counterfeiting of that brand. Airoh from Bachoo Motors too is another good choice, though again, I personally would select from their higher ranges only.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
