Best 35w bulb for New Hunk
Hi guys,
Had posted this earlier in the wrong Thread
...
I will be booking a new Silver Hunk
soon and would want to change the stock bulb to the best bulb possible. The reason being i drove a friend's Hunk and found that the stock bulb is insufficient on highways.
I tried searching in the forum but found mostly about Angel eyes/Bixenon
but i am just looking for a plain HID bulb with high/Low beam option within the same bulb and also do not want to pressurise the battery( Do not want the battery to dry up during night rides) so would like to stick to 35w specification.
I am not looking for fancy blue color light but at least pure white or yellowish white will do.
So all i need is 35w HID bulb(with both High & Low) without any wiring change. Please suggest....
Is a ballast compulsory for a HID bulb
???
I came across several types likes 4000K,5000k,6000k...whats the difference
?
If its the temperature measure then i would be looking for a comparatively cooler one (Don't want to burn my reflector
)
Also suggest a brand and approx cost??

As Navnish said, using H7 is useless. Its a single beam. H4 is a straight fit for most of the HS1 holders. If you are very concerned about the stock reflector then do replace it with Autopal seal beam as suggested earlier. I am using 35w X 2 HID's in my ZMR stock reflector. Who cares abt reflector when you have enough light to playOriginally posted by madelikeagun View PostThanks Abijit,
That was quick. Yes, I have been following the Hella story. Since I have posted my last query, I have been reading through the entire forum, thats a lot of pages. Your opinion about 4300K only makes me reaffirm to go for the 3200K.
I will think about Fog lamps after im done with the Head lamp. This leaves me with few more questions left.
- What bulb plug is compatible. Current stock is HS1. I read else where H7 is a straight fit. I need confirmation.
- Also will my reflector handle the 35W HID? Any heating issues. Will the light Focus correctly.
- My Bull's battery configuration is 12V 14Amps. The 18 Pole Magneto generates 220 watt. Thunderbird website says this is to facilitate external electrical accessories. Can I further add two 35 watt Fog lamps?
Thanks in advance to all the experts here for your kindness

IMO, don't opt for fog lights. Plonk in a 55w HID. And please don't opt a 3200K HID. Your eyes will get strained in regular riding conditions. Yes it has an advantage in rain but it won't rain entire year. 4300K is the right choice. For getting ur hands on best possible HID's catch Navnish
On stock wiring, HID is impossible. I am not sure if new HUNK has a all DC or AC/DC. If its AC/DC then please refer http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/universa...ke-all-dc.html.Originally posted by Ravitej View PostHi guys,

Using a higher watt bulb is also not possible without rewinding atleast.

All you experts have given me enough information for my brain cells to function
So that makes me decide, I should go for a H7 and fix it straight to my head light.
35/55W I have to decide - 4300/3200K I have to decide, I will keep posted.Motorcycle Trip log - Summer ride to N. Sagar | Leh 2012 - A story told in pictures | Winter in Darjeeling 2018 | Summer in Goa 2018 |

Can you please tell me the brand and model of a good 35w HID(White) and approx cost if possible.
I will try enquiring about the AC/DC in Hunk and if wiring change is required.

As I said in my earlier posts, when I have enough light to play who cares for reflector.Originally posted by abhijeet080808 View PostThis seems good. But, the reflector does not overheat with both?
I am using regular Bi-Xenon for regular use. Will just swap the bulb when on touring. Thats just to keep the cops away. Last week was caught by cops just for using HID (Regular 4300k) which was a funny incident
