    • @drvmtm, sajjt: Thanks for clarifying my doubt regarding the APE RR unit.
I'll be getting the coil rewinding done this friday... Any special things to be taken care of, or to tell the guy while doing this?

        oem rr
        use cutout for headlight
19 gauge or lower wire for rewinding
one rr only, dont complicate by retaining two rrs thinking one will help u in case of a disaster,it wont.
No switch in between coil and rr.
Dont put a 90/100 inside oem dome,it will melt.
Dont waste money buying so called premium bulbs like phillips extream power or night breaker, use good quality oem bulbs, its good enough.

        happy to help.

Shree, for a proper lighting means everything includes, road visibility, sign boards, pedastrians etc. If any one of them misses, its not good for safe driving. THats all I meant yar. Dont feel bad and njoy ur flood light rides. Let my 2 cents be there dear about bulb types, I know u r one of the best in JuGGAD works. Oh its bcz of aging man I must read twice before posting.

Silicon sealant from Pidilite is used for sealing of domes and other joints to make it water proof and its easy to pull out when u want to open. Only 45/- tube.

Yes, if u want to make it full DC, then ask him to rewind the whole poles as a single coil without grounding to the body, take out the both wires with a long wire to reach atleast to the stock RR position to avoid more wire joints, else, he'll rewind with a higher guage but in stock manner(Light+Batt). I've done with the same guy, but that time I didnt've the idea of converting it to full DC, just want to upgrade the 35W to 100W, so done with both the coils. Now batt charging coil is idle now. U can ask him to do it as a single coil to squeeze out the max. Even ur batt is almost flat and hesitating to self start, ur HID will light up once ur engine is started even on a flat batt. He may not agree with u as he is not aware of this mod, when I briefed about this to him, he was not convinced and said it wont work with a bike, its all meant for 3 wheeler. So I done it myself and tried the experiment and I never made a visit to him after that.

Lijo, is it with a spare coil or with the stock? After rewinding as a single coil, u wont get any power from the coil either to batt or to light if u r not finishing the other wiring mods. So do that also else, u will be left alone in darkness while u r returning. I wont suggest that guy to do the job as there is no job perfection in wire joints and neatness too.

Thank you for your inputs sajjt... but the last paragraph is confusing me. I dont have a spare coil with me, so I'm getting it done with the stock. also, right now I'm not keen on going for full DC..but maybe at a later time yes...
The sentence in bold...that worries me... are you saying that this guys work is not up to the mark? What are you suggestions?

                  hohohohohoho HOLD ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

U NEED TO CONVERT TO FULL DC FOR A APACHE 180....PERIOD!!!!!!!
WHY?ITS A TCI IGNITION SYSTEM NOTA CDI LIKE PULSYS,IF U KEEP AC /DC SETUP THE BIKE WILL NOT PERFORM WHILE ACCELERATION.
SIMPLE FUNDA GO FOR FULL DC OR DONT DO IT AT ALL.

CONFUSED? I THINK U HV MY NUMBER.

All right... no worries, I'll go for DC conversion... So i guess the only difference is they have to wind in a different manner than the stock winding... My worry now is if the guy I identified knows the how-to...
