Ya it is OK use stock lighting on the projector if you can mount the bulb in projector. But it will not give you that much intensity as that of HID. Temporary its fine. Upload the pics with stock ones if possible.

    • I want to increase my Bike (pulsar 150 dtsi) illumination. I have checked some forums and found that fitting Avenger's coil with a high wattage bulb can increase it significantly.

I went to Castrol service center and asked for the setup, with their suggestions I am confused even more. They told me Avenger 180 cc coil is different than Avenger 200cc and 200 provides even better electric current. Is this true and my bike is compatible with this ?

They suggested me to use a regulator and white bulb for this setup. Currently I have 60W bulb (or 55W not sure).

Appx cost quoted by castrol service center:
      Avenger coil: 700
      Regulator: 500
      White bulb: 450

What are the components needed to be changed in my bike and please mention the cost involved in it. I am not interested in xenon lamps.
      Thanks for your help.

      • well.. tried and tested method is with Avi 180 coil.
I am not sure, if anyone tried it with Avi200 coil.. ask them, if they have any example of someone using it.. personally call that person on mobile and take feedback..

I got the change done from outside local mechanic.
        Avi coil --> 540 Rs.
        Philips premium 55W H4 bulb --> 100 Rs.
        Changing labour --> 70 Rs.

        total cost 710 Rs.

using the setup from 1+ years..

        Note: mine is P150 UG3.

P150 UG4 onwards have DC setup and don't need any tweaking for upgrading to bigger bulb..

So there is no need for regulator thingy ? I don't the purpose of regulator but the castrol service center mechanic suggested me this.

One more thing, white light bulb really produce better illumination than the conventional yellow bulbs or its a waste of money buying it ? or wattage that matters ? I have heard higher wattage bulbs damage the doom reflectors.

            Thanks once again.

            • need some advice...

              i've got a P180 with an R15 front end...
and i'm planning on installing two 35W HIDs.

now... since the Avenger 180 headlight was 55/60W...
would swapping my stock stator coil (stator coil) with the Avenger 180 one be sufficient?
and how long would i be able to run the HIDs like this?

or do i need to get it re-wound?
              .

                  cool. thanks.

anyone know somewhere in bombay / new bombay where i can get a proper
                  re-winding job done.

looking for something that'll support the two 35w HIDs that i plan on installing.

mine's a P180 UG3 with a relatively new battery and stock stator coil / wiring harness.

                    2. does a bi-xenon HID bulb requires two ballast or it works with just one of them?
                    3. does the bi xenon hid comes in h4?
                    4. how much does the bulb of bi xenon hid costs (just the bulb)?

                      Avenger bulb cost: 110/-
Bi-Xenon generally use one ballast (for solenoid type)
Yes, H-4 HID bulbs are availble!!
                      I guess around 750/- u shud get a h-4 HID lamp

these prices vary from place to place

                      • Hi all, finally i managed to fit p220's projector and 2 ellipsoidal unit into my zma here is some snaps. I have some problems now. Though am using p220's bulb with relay and Amron 9amp battery, my light output is not as bright(low beam) as that of my brothers p220. why is it so. is there any problem with my electrical system or is it impossible to attain the brightness of P220. please provide some inputs.

Thanks a lot to Arun(aarun), Ranjith(ranjithMN),Ashwin(H H svc), Nano, Sajan(sajith) and Sreeni sir for their valuable inputs.

                            wow. that's a of wattage.

                            i'm assuming the 2 ellipsoidal's are on 35W + 35W

is the bulb in the projector 55W... like the P220's too?

and what kinda re-coiling work have u got done?

No bro they all are 55w bulbs 55w for low beam and 55w+55w for high beam. I couldn't find any 35w h7 and i've not done any coil modifications, is it necessary?

                              • @ vineeth

                                congrats buddy.
                                great job done.
look no further and replace all the bulbs (or atleast the projector one) to HID instantly.

the reason why your output isn't as bright as the p220's output would be because of the following reasons..

                                1
as your projector is USED and from junk, maybe the reflective surface wouldn't be upto the mark.

                                2
there maybe dust inside the projector which really gives 50% less brightness

                                3
maybe you haven't used a relay, thus the bulb isn't glowing to full brightness.

hows the battery performing will all the three on ??
Giving a lot to a fiero.
