Me and my friends travelled with a group of riders who are friends of a college buddy. We went to Lonavla on 7th and 8th June 2014. It was by far my 1st experience of group riding. Here are some pics.Click image for larger version

And with the option to remove the pillion seat...it gives the retro feel par none....even when its stationary, I still just stand and admire its looks....an absolute vintage piece of art..!!!

If you feel the classic still has problems like its inital lot, trust me when I say RE has resolved everything.
They have made the classic a beautiful machine now....

The choice is yours my friend...

Man are you sure that RE has resolved all of the problems, i don't think so, recently me and my friend went to the showroom of RE for booking electra, we took a look on the electra model that was on display, and the display model had some issues first of all the paint job was not upto the mark, secondly the buffed engine parts were covered with black dust, exhaust had got a small dent which even the showroom guy didn't knew and we had to point this dent to him, i don't know of the new FI bullets but the older one with FI's were totally nightmare, the service centres were not equipped with the mandatory equipments to deal with the problems of FI and Ecu,what i have heard is that some older desert storms were renowned for fouling of plugs as company has not fitted Fi with O2 sensors, as O2 sensor alone costs 15 to 20,000 Rs, before purchasing FI bullet i would say pls do visit there service centres and see that whether they have got these necessary equipments and trained personnal to deal with electronics gizmos or not.

The issue with the spark plug has been resolved by the company....I believe they replaced all the existing plugs with another plug of Bosch brand....not sure of the model...the air filter issue has been resolved by providing a cover for the same...the wobbling issue has been solved by the addition of some rubber bushing to the swingarm side and the increase of 18" front rims to 19"....the main issue which was claimed by many was the paint job....they too have been improved after the change in production factory...I believe its bigger and better than before....the absence of O2 sensor does not really affect a generally warm country like India (please seniors, excuse me if I'm wrong), its omission has also helped to keep the price in check.

I honestly don't think there are many issues prevailing now except for the fact that you get a defective piece or lemon(which is very unlikely).
All your issues will also be covered under warranty too....

To me....everytime I wring the throttle....I feel my dugu dugu literally pulls like a train....!!!

So then why fear about anything?

Buy a piece of history that India thumps on...

I was wondering why haven't ownership thread for Continental GT come up yet. I am eagerly waiting for a good review from an owner's perspective.

Why didn't you said that sir this is a HD but is made by RE for Harley. That answer would have been appropriate, acutally we always underestimate or don't believe on our own ability, and that's why we ran for imported products. Well done RE but just improve your ASC also.

Experts what is the weight of newer cranks in RE models, yesterday i was talking to a bullet guy, he was having old cast iron engine bullet of the year 1998 and he said that newer cranks are very lighter some 7kgs and the older ones are of some 12kgs, and because of lighter cranks the engine has got less life.I tried to explaing him that the newer UCE engines have far more oil flowing to the engine compared to older ones but in vain. So i thought of getting expert views from you guys.

Though I'm a noob when it comes to engines and its internals, but here's an analogy:

A Hindustan Motors Ambassador weighs more than most mountains, but that doesn't guarantee you that its outer shell (or even the engine) would last longer than a Maruti's/Toyota's.
Newer engines, newer tech, lighter materials, higher efficiency, greater longevity. - in their respective segments of course.

                      (Purely my opinions)

Yes the newer technology is more efficient, with higher efficiency, and longer running, but that sometimes is not always true.

I haven't read whole of the thread but the way you have descripted the matter, is truly wonderfull and the answer by Mr. Monk is as good, the more difficult a bike is to maintain the more real it is, time has got the fastest wheels nobody can catch him and with time difference there comes evolution or revolution whichever way you take it, the older generation will always love there metal monster as compared to the newer cheeky sleeky ones, the guy to whom i was talking has got three bullets and the fouth one is getting ready and after this bullet he will start restoring triumph.

                              Hi Riders,
I always wanted to have my very own Royal Enfield and ride. The only thing that bothers me is my physic is very low. I'm too lean and my fellas always get me into a negative vibe when I try to giveyself a try.
Is the physic of a person a real barrier in becoming a proud royal. This is one question I've been asking myself!

It's the Heart that should be strong, if you are strong from your soul or energy you can overcome any obstacle or face any problem, if you wanna purchase an RE just take a test ride at your nearest showroom, or try to ride a heavier bike other than RE, heavier bikes only causes problem once you ride them slowly or in jampacked situations, but that too depends on how the weight is distributed in the bike, and don't be too possesive on your physique, eat well do some exercise plus your stomach should be absolutely healthy, if your stomach is healty you can overcome your physique problem, stomach is like engine of a bike if engine is healthy so is the bike and the rider.
