That totally depends on his style of liking IMO. Classic has more upright stance and TB has the unique butterfly handle bar. For me, Classic is more of a city rider going at 60kph, TB is more of a lone cruiser which likes highways.

With regards to Bull-my pov has been very simple.

All him to test ride all the models. With one model he will feel great. Pay the money and walk away without thinking back again.

Its all about your heart with respect to your bull.

Electric start doesbt come with std350. Well, it can be fitted later but it is a tedious job as said by svc guys.

Classic isnt actually a bullet. If you want electric start over the standard 350 then go with electra. Plus electra gets the disc brake. That is why the rate difference mainly.

Btw do you use it for city riding or highways mainly??

              • Royal Enfield Bullet 500 or Classic 500

                Hi Guys,

I am planning to buy RE in next 6 months. It was thunder bird in my mind till a few months back.
But now its either Royal Enfield Bullet 500 or Classic 500.

Please help me get out of this dilemma.

                What I like bullet is
                • Looks
                • Low tech carb
                • Traditional amp meter

                For Classic
                • Engine specs are slightly high.
                • New Tech

I am more of a DIY guy, So which one will be better for me?
Also please let me know the waiting period of RE Bullet in kerala.

I don't know about the technicals much. If you tour a lot then Thunderbird will be much better (comfort and 20 litre fuel tank).

                  Prices are as listed below
                  Bullet 500 - 161407 (4 months waiting period)
                  Classic 500 - 171505 (3 months waiting period)

Standard and Electra comes with the same engine. What makes the price difference is - Electric Start, Front Disk Brake and Rear Gas Shock. I choose Electra for these reasons. Electra's mud guards are different than that of Standard.

So the other day I was passing by the Enfield showroom, I just strolled in and I was captivated by the sheer awesome looks of Continental GT. I had seen a few of them on road, but never up-close. So the Sales guy handed the keys to a Test vehicle and on I went for about 5-6 kms. It's an awesome machine. Loved the brakes. Loved the power produced by it. And even though I'm on bigger, heavier side...I found it to be very comfortable. But it was only a short run. I was almost sold when I didn't even step in to the showroom with any any intention of buying anything.

However, the twist came when I saw the TBTS in matte finish. The sales guy tossed over the keys to that as well and off I went on the same route. I found the ride to be a little less fun compared to GT (which is bound to be) but oh my! What plush seats! The sales guy was seated behind now, since he could and he told me that "This is the bike if you've got a wife". And that folks, I do. And she's got a weak back as well. So when the time comes to travel together, I would want her to be comfortable. The ride was mature and everything. But the question was I can only make do with about 1.4 lakhs MAX! So he suggested why don't I go for the TBTS 350 since my 80% travel will be office commute. And even this one is a cool 12K more than my budget.

So what I wanted to know is...should I wait for a little bit more time and gather funds for TBTS 500 or should I book the TBTS 350. My daily office commute is about 50kms in Bangalore. Let me know.

                        Hi Xbhpian Brothers...
As like everyone here going through my terrifying last 3 weeks before getting hands 👐 on RE TB 350 marine. * name yet to be decided.. This is going to be my first bike, off course I know how to ride a two wheeler but not most like others didn't had a good biking experience before.
As much I am excited that much I am very fearful about my 2 years dream. I go through most of the threads on how to check my TB during delivery and about first 3000 kms in 50 km/hr. But still not got a perfect idea on riding. As I understand I have to get that by experience only. But any advice and help from you bro's will be helpful to give life to my dream. I am planning to do the first service 500kms after 3 days once I got my bike. Due to work location and after that again 400 kms to Chennai from erode. Hope I will get some advice on this friends. Thanks for reading and helping out [emoji120] [emoji120] [emoji120]

                          1. I'm on the shorter side 5'.5".. will std 350 or electra be ok?
                          2. What are the seat heights of all the three mentioned?
                          3. Mileage and avg waiting period in bangalore? 4. This will be for city use primarily.. daily office commute is about 12 km (one way)

                            Hi,

"bullet vs classic vs thunderbird" is something I google every day for past few months.

But whenever I say I like thunderbird, the new thunderbird 500. I am going for it.

I will hear "THunder bird?? its the smallest from RE", "It will not give you that look", "No resale value"," Go for classic instead", and some starts talking abt 70s and 90s RE.
AFAIK, its just the look that differ in classic 500 and TB 500. is there something I dont know abt??

RE T'BIRD is a great bike in it's own. Do not let any one foul what "YOU" want to get. Everyone tries to talk as if they are bullet maestros, yet most of them have never touched a bull in their life. T'BIRD is different from the rest RE's. But so is the Conti 535. So what? You'll have one heck of a ride. Go with your choice and do not let these pinchers sopil your mood.

                              All the best....

and I own a Classic not a BIRD

                              Happy thumping.

                              regards,

                              Achyut

P.S. - And there is nothing you won't know about. Same Engine, same power, better brakes, a good DRL, better instrument cluster, bigger tank. And the subdued Thump can easily be brought back by a Wildboar Reverse Cone (Looks awesome on the Bird).

Don't worry, just take what you want.
