    Hi Kusmaker,
Thank you do much for the tips and advise. As you've stated that riding heavy vehicles can be a good thing to start off with. Also I'm trying to put up some weight. Hope that within the next half year these changes can happen.

Dear friends, can you please help in choosing between bullet 500 and DS. In terms of handling, pick up, ride comfort for rider and pillon and reliability is better. Intended usage is weekend ride and touring to himalayas twice in a year.

You meant Classic 500 and DS 500?? Absolutely no difference!

He meant the Bullet 500....it is the carburetor version whereas the classic 500 is the FI model.

If your a true bullet fan and dont mind losing out on a little bit of power (theoretically) the Bullet 500 is just for you...the sitting position is and has always been like the standard...a true tourer....very relaxed riding

But if you like vintage styling and sometimes like to ride around solo..
Then classic 500 is for you...the throttling is super crisp...although I've always felt the seat to be a bit hard...but thats just my viewpoint....pulls like a train...more colour schemes too

Take a Test drive and select the one which touches your heart.
Afterall...owning a Royal Enfield is a lifetime investment...

I would say go for DS-500, FI is the technology that every bike in the near short time will have so why not choose that technology right now, throttle response is absolutely instant, plus engine breathes better with FI.

Hi. with all the discussions going on here, I would like to know one thing. I have been "sighting" the thunderbird 350 for around 2 yrs now. Now my new job makes me travel around 45km one way daily. Is the T350 a good value for money? I was looking for a bike which offers a good riding position and no backache...

Thunderbird is the best machine for munching miles and miles so your 45 km journey will be an cake walk with this bike, you can go for the bike blindly, seating posture is as comfortable as an couch in your home.

I don't get backache even after riding 1,000+km in 24 hours on my Thunderbird 500 during/after long one-day trips like Chennai>Kanniyakumari>Chennai, Chennai>Athirapilly Falls>Chennai, Chennai>Kodaikanal>Chennai and Chennai>Ooty>Chennai. See here for details.

Hi friends I need your help regarding my new bike purchase. I am interested in GT and Bullet 500, but the price difference is around Rs.60000. Actually I can wait until GT with ABS arrives. Then the price difference would be around 1 lakh. I took the test ride of Bullet 500 and very much liked the comfort and torque, and will take test ride of GT in few days. Whenever I call Vijayawada showroom guys for test ride, they are telling, sir bike has problem with ignition. Is GT reliable with fuel injection when compare to carbutetted Bullet 500. I need your sincere help friends.

                      Thank you.

Great...So what mileage can I expect from the T350? The roads I use as fully smooth, 2 lane and I would be driving at around 60-70km/hr mostly

Mileage will be around 40 to 45km, any bike will give good mileage if it's ridden in economy zone.

Thanks for all the responses but just a question :
What about the reliability issues for thunderbird as I would be using the same for 80km ride 6 days a week. And the route I take is through ghats such that breakdowns would be an absolute tragedy
I have seen many members comment on the reliability of the bull so is it worth for a daily commute?

Reliability is always a hard nut for RE to crack none of there vehicle comes with so called bullet proof reliability, so you have to be ready on this matter, as you will be using this vehicle for your daily routine you will see problems arising the only thing is how fast SC can rectify it,keep your fingers crossed and hope you don't get stranded in the middle of your route, just make a visual check everymorning before you leave for your work and bring any problem to companies notice as fast as you can, but don't worry too much about the problems or you will loose pleasure of riding TB.

I would say, Go for GT. Its a legend like Bullet and with modern tech and better Quality. Its definitely the top quality product from RE stable.
