If u think, Joel uses his bikes only for racing ur wrong. Those are his prime commute. He commutes to office daily on them, tours on them(of course to the race track), roams around and does all that stuff with the same race-prepped bikes.

He he he..well my RTR is a group D spec bike and its pretty much a stock engine. No harm in roaming with it. For the race, I only need to change the tyres. Same case with my R15.
I used to ride my Fiero everyday, but it has retired from streets since 10 months now. Its only a purpose built drag bike now. I still might sneek an opportunity to take it out on weekends now in the full drag bike form for some fun . Otherwise, my Fiero is a race bike only.
A group B spec engine is a lot more radical than the stock Group D spec engine. Hence its not advisable to take it anywhere outside the race track.

I've never understood the difference. What are the difference specs, Joel? How are they classified? I meant about the different race specs.

For the 4-stroke racing class, there are 2 classes.
                        Group B and group D.
Group D is a stock bike with only a few tweeks allowed as per the racing regulations.
Group B is a fully modified engine again modified within the specs of the FMSCI. However choice of most of the engine internals are free. Regulation is only for the number of gears, cc, external casting and a few other bits. You can play with everything else.

                              • ^^And as for Group - B what kind of tweaks are u talking about and is there any specific area of the bike to which the tweaks should not be done(or concentrated on?)
