re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
I have not used Honda synthetic till and its only available at Honda ASC.Originally posted by vineeshvv View Postis there any one using Honda Throttle 10W30 Full Synthetic Oil in Our CBZ Xtreme ??
is it really worth it , i am currently using Mobil 1 Racing 10w-40 Full Synthetic
Honda Throttle Cost = 550/-
MObil 1 Racing Cost= 800/-
Try to find out its make. Then you will come to know about its quality.
Mobil1 is simply the best but expensive.
Shell ultra fully synthetic 10w40. Rs 650. Its also the best and economical too.
Lets not forget shell ax7 semi synt 10w40. Rs. 300. It gives the feel of syn. Best value for money.

re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
Guys got my bike 1st service.
here is the thing that happened at SVC.
As i had mentioned previously about loose tappet issue, i asked supervisor about it & he told me its normal sound in new bikes. Will go after you ride more. I was like..
Then showed my ride to another mechanic, he confirmed tappet setting problem. After test ride he said clutch setting, rear break setting, tappet setting need to be done+oil change [from barrel..
] left my ride at 11.30 a.m.
At 4.30 p.m. went to take delivery of bike. Paid the charges n left SVC.
After a short highway ride realized vibration at foot pegs. SVC guys tighten my bikes chain so badly that it dint have slack of even 0.5 mm..:O
Went to SVC again loosen chain & clutch as clutch was also tight. Now main concern is that how can i know that my tappets settings are done correctly using feeler gauge. I am bit worried, considering the thing they did with my chain & clutch setting. Please help guys.
Rest the ride is much smoother & gear shifts are bit smooth now.

re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
So Guys
Time for some mods to be carried out in my bike for which i need your help.
From the esteemed members i would like to know the things which i need to do on my bike are feasible or not.
1-Change of Battery(high amp rating) How much Amp rating battery would fit in with the battery comp. in our extreme??? And probably costs of the batteries of different makes
2-Change of Headlights to HID's(that is why changing the Battery)-How much min Amp rating battery should i buy so that it can withstand the power consumption of HID's.
3-Rear tyres- I want tubeless tyre for the rear with more grip than stock. Open to all suggestions but the size should not be more than 110/80 or 110-90 18. and will 120 section tyre be a direct fit without causing any harm to the swing arm and chain guarg?
4- Change of horns to a much higher sound 1's.
These things i would like to get answered from the members.
Will get all these things undertaken within a month or so.Hero Honda Dawn-2009-2011
Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme-2011-2017
KTM Duke390 2016- till now

re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
Beware of wrong chain setting and always check the slack after each service, as tight chain it is believed to be a reason for the 3rd gear issues which is very common across Hunk/XTreme.Originally posted by PRATHM View PostGuys got my bike 1st service.

I have a 120 section rear tire (MRF Zapper) in my Hunk and it has been slightly touching the lower chain guard and I had to remove the lower chain guard.Originally posted by tusharxtreme View PostSo Guys

Lately I noticed that on riding with a pillion the tire is touching the edges of rear mudguard as it is having space only for stock tire.
And the end result - busted swing arm bushes and had to go for a swing arm overhaul! And it may happen again so planning to go for a stock tire soon.
I think you can safely go for a 110 size tire at the max.
Regarding horns, you can go for Pulsar/Apache twin horns with out any mod I believe.

re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
Just like the mechanics at A$$ love to overtighten clutch free play, chain and drain bolts- similarly they might have even overtightened the tappets also to reduce noise.Originally posted by PRATHM View PostGuys got my bike 1st service.

Not only xtreme but every Hero bike feels very rough and returns poor mileage for the first 500kms - this is because the parts have very tight clearance which gives the engine a long life (if run-in carefully).
My xtreme is almost vibe free after 3,000kms and is returning a good mileage of 52kmpl in city and 58+ on highways. Initially the gearshifts were notchy, vibrated at 4.5K RPM, FE of just 43kmpl(first 200 km - 37kmpl).
Just for the sake of warranty, I am getting my bike serviced at ASC and will get only the free services done.
I always mention in the job card - NO TEST RIDE, NO OIL ADDITIVES, NO TEFLON, NO CLUTCH Adjustment and NO EXTRA WORK. I just stand beside the bike during service and ask the mechanic not to touch anything other than engine oil, air filter, chain, spark plug and washing. I don't even let them to start the bike
.
When it comes to my bikes or cars, I am extremely finicky about certain things.Last edited by shoeb2015; 12-11-2013, 07:57 PM.

re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
Today dropped my cbz for its last free service , this time I thought to change svc as I was fed up from all nearby ones. So went to different one and gave them at 11am. Clearly told them to wash properly and change air filter and drain bolt as it was leaking oil and had reached min level. This time I was really shocked Ti receive my bike just after an hour, went and saw it was washed and even polished properly also they promptly gave me old air filter and mech told me to bring bike at 10k for fork and brake oil change. Hero has definitely done progress in customer support, even customer lounge had carrom and chess boards
Odo read 8809 and was 8810 at delivery. Only lemon was I had to drain Gulf oil just at 600kms
When I asked for drained oil , they gave it completely in bottle (i will use it for lubing purpose)
Bike feels bit harsh as I was used to SS and shifting to mineral doesn't feel good now its like addiction
Now at 10k I will do service on my own and if possible put up pics and diy too
Cheers

re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
Guys,Originally posted by nishesh.kumar View PostI am thinking to try the 55/60 watts bulb.
Can anybody suggest me any particular brand in this segment, which is easily available and compatible with xtreme
Please suggest, so that I can improve the head light visibility.
Its getting really difficult to ride during night.

re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
First of all you need to get head light converted to DC then simply plug n play a 55/60w H4 bulb. Never buy blue coloured one. Philips xtreme vision or osram night breakers are best buy but expensive.Originally posted by nishesh.kumar View PostGuys,

Apart from this you need to change the parking bulbs to LEDs and also the bulb which is above the rear number plate. This will reduce the overall power consumption reducing load on battery.
But i am bit concerned about the 4A battery. Otherwise you need to upgrade battery to 5A (for single/ stock horn) or 6A ( for double horn setup).
Correct me if i am wrong.
This is all I think it should work according to my experience on my discover with Philips xtreme vision 55/60w, LEDs and double horn( 3A +2A of different frequency) with 5A stock battery. All working good since a year.
Get a good advice from others( sibun, shoeb ) before proceeding further.

re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
Expect to spend around 3,500 rupees minimum. Get the stator coil rewinded, get an Ape RR installed, this should make your bike run on full DC. Now you can run a 55/60w bulb all day all night long without draining the battery.Originally posted by Lokesh027 View PostFirst of all you need to get head light converted to DC then simply plug n play a 55/60w H4 bulb. re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
Bro, i had to do tappet setting as i was facing loose tappet issue within few days of my bike purchase. I had also posted video & sibun ji confirmed that its loose tappet noise. Rest things i checked personally & did chain, clutch setting in front of me. Is it common that xtreme doesn`t start early with kick in cold climate as i had to do 3-4 attempts without choke on. Its been lil bit of cold here in Mumbai. Tried starting her using kick as she was standstill from past 3 days. She din`t. Finally with choke on fired engine. Although with self start she starts with one press, but many members suggets to do first kick start if bike is not used for 2-3 days.Originally posted by shoeb2015 View PostJust like the mechanics at A$$ love to overtighten clutch free play, chain and drain bolts- similarly they might have even overtightened the tappets also to reduce noise.
