Re: Honda Dio, Activa and Aviator
Mine is a 2007 Dio, and uses the 5Ah battery. The exide extreme that I am using is also of the same rating (12XT5L-B) and is a direct fit in.Originally posted by SparKot View PostWhat's the power rating of that eXide battery?
PS: Pay attention to the dimensions of the various batteries. Now i understand why the battery guy said the vrla ones dont fit correctly in the older Dio/Activa's.

Re: Honda Dio, Activa and Aviator
Nearly 2 months and 500 odd kms into ownership, found oil leaking under the kick lever side of the engine. Leakage was slow, so took it to ASC.
They took half a day to fix it and charged Rs. 15 for some oil seal. Asked whether it would be covered under warranty, said that rubber and electrical parts are not covered.
Shockingly the ASC guys took out nearly 1 to 1.5 litres of petrol from the tank which i realized on the way back
. For such repairs they do not note down the petrol level so it is better that we take a picture of the fuel gauge while giving the vehicle for repairs.
Very un-professional approach and stealing in broad daylight.30+ YEARS OF RIDING

Re: Honda Dio, Activa and Aviator
You must be living in a bad SVC place as here in Delhi, while inspecting vehicle before taking it in for service ,they insert a woodden scale into petrol tank and measure how much level fuel is up to .they will show you that and advise to expect 200-500ml decrease.Originally posted by Janesh.J View PostNearly 2 months and 500 odd kms into ownership, found oil leaking under the kick lever side of the engine. The ASC is not in such a bad area, but not a metro city either.Originally posted by shadowgun View PostYou must be living in a bad SVC place as here in Delhi, while inspecting vehicle before taking it in for service ,they insert a woodden scale into petrol tank and measure how much level fuel is up to .they will show you that and advise to expect 200-500ml decrease.

They do note down the level when you give for service be it free or paid, but for repairs they dont, which is wrong and then they can steal fuel. It feels like you give your vehicle to a road side mechanic when we see such things.30+ YEARS OF RIDING

Re: Honda Dio, Activa and Aviator
I had a doubt while researching for a new scooter. Does the HET Aviator come with alloys and tubeless tires for both front and back? Are the tires true tubeless (like on motorcycles) or just Tuff-Up tubes with a new easy-to-market name?

Re: Honda Dio, Activa and Aviator
yes new het aviator 109cc comes with tubeless tires for both front and back.. they are truly tubeless and not tuff up tubes.. but alloys and disc brake is optional.. PS het dio is as good as aviator and looks stylish too
.. but looks are purely subjective !

I think the alloys are standard , but the front disc brake is optional. And yes they are Tubeless tires and not the ones with tuff up tube.Originally posted by shreezan View Postyes new het aviator 109cc comes with tubeless tires for both front and back.. they are truly tubeless and not tuff up tubes.. but alloys and disc brake is optional.. Aviator/Dio/Activa all have the same engine.. Aviator has a telescopic front suspension while the rest don't and yes looks are subjective.. and aviator would better suit a taller person (say taller than 5'10) compared to a dio and i feel is less bulkier than the Activa (not Activa i)

Re: Honda Dio, Activa and Aviator
Correction: Aviator comes in two varients.Originally posted by s1d View PostI think the alloys are standard , but the front disc brake is optional. And yes they are Tubeless tires and not the ones with tuff up tube.
1: Standard- Steel wheels> Both drum brakes with cbs.
2: Deluxe- Alloy wheels> Front 190mm disc brake with cbs.
Tubeless tyres are standard with 12" inch on front & 10" inch on rear.
I have a doubt. The rear tyre of avaitor is same as dio's front & back. Is it possible to fit the alloy wheel on the dio on front & both?Failure should never go to heart & success should never go to head, both makes a person to fall in life-Winston Churchill

Re: Honda Dio, Activa and Aviator
Well, when i checked on HMSI's site, it only mentions the front disc as optional (DLX)... no mention of alloys as optional.Originally posted by MR ACE View PostCorrection: Aviator comes in two varients.

And i do not know if the Aviators' alloys are a direct fit on the Dio..my intuition says it will not be a direct fit.. maybe someone else can enlighten us on this

Re: Honda Dio, Activa and Aviator
Thanks! Disc brake is a major requirement which means Dio is out for meOriginally posted by shreezan View Postyes new het aviator 109cc comes with tubeless tires for both front and back.. they are truly tubeless and not tuff up tubes.. but alloys and disc brake is optional.. Since I'm only looking at the DLX disc model I wasn't sure if the rear was alloy or steel. Thanks for the info.Originally posted by MR ACE View PostCorrection: Aviator comes in two varients.

Haha! Same thoughts came to me when I was looking at a Dio with Aviators alloys with disc but the CBS system is tricky.Originally posted by s1d View PostWell, when i checked on HMSI's site, it only mentions the front disc as optional (DLX)... no mention of alloys as optional.

Re: Honda Dio, Activa and Aviator
Duh, why do we need a 125.. I think the current 110cc ones are just about right for the scooter segment for our indian roads/riding conditions.Originally posted by MR ACE View PostBTW the activa 125 launch happens this month.
My guess.. the 125 will be a dud and phased out sooner. Honda should stop trying to experiment too much and stick to their trusted 100/110cc scoots.. with petrol prices shooting up i wonder if the 125 will provide any increase in mileage and 99% of those who buy these scoots are not performance enthusiasts..and i dont think the 125 will be a pocket rocket either.

Re: Honda Dio, Activa and Aviator
Well, more than 80% of what Suzuki Motorcycle India sells are 125cc Scooters, that's only 25-30 thousand a month. 125cc & telescopic suspension are Suzuki's selling points.Originally posted by s1d View PostDuh, why do we need a 125.. Suzuki's coming up with 110cc scooter while Honda is with 125cc. Same case with Yamaha & other giants. We've 100cc, 125cc, 150cc segments in Motorcycles; likewise I assume 100-110cc, 125cc will become with scooters. There is no honest path to prosperity - KoKa

Re: Honda Dio, Activa and Aviator
My dio is almost 3 years completing. I am still searching for a better replacement for it but only the suzuki's scooters comes upfront. Maybe this activa 125 is the replacement? If Honda is getting dio body in the 125cc, i would happily trade of my current ride to this one. The 110 cc dio lacks tele-scopic suspension & a disc brake(opt).Originally posted by s1d View PostDuh, why do we need a 125.. Previously there was 50-100cc scooters were there. Now every manufacture is phasing out 100cc. So 110-125cc is the current thread. The 150's will take a lot of time.Failure should never go to heart & success should never go to head, both makes a person to fall in life-Winston Churchill
