I hope these are official tips
BTW i used OEM Honda Mineral oil SAE 10W30 and Does it recommended to drain engine oil at 6000 Km interval ?
Jaso MB grade oil can be used well as engine oil. For the gear oil SAE 90 grade oil is more suitable as per honda recommendations. We use SAE 90 oil in transmission with drain period of 1yr( honda recommends 2 years).
In honda maintenance schedule it is recommended to change engine oil after 4000kms or 6 months whichever earlier.
I recommend you to change engine oil every 2000kms to get better engine life.
Don't go for such high drain intervals like 6000kms, engine won't last long.

My activa suffered from this problem from the day I bought it from showroom(2.4.2012) and i used to visit the asc like 4times a month till september. Finally what i was told about the problem was , fuel quality and carb tuning was an issue.
I would advice you to get your carburetor tuned by a very expert mechanic and use the petrol from a reliable petrol bunk. Dont change the petrol bunk frequently and use choke and kickstart in the mornings.
Also, when using self start, use the accelerator.
Now my activa starts in the first go and never stalls , be it morning or evening.

The pic is a starter motor as you said. It lies just besides the carb in activa. If convienient try to crank engine 2-3times lightly during cold start and then use self start(for temporarily relief)(please try to give feedback on this).
In your case the battery might be the main suspect because the problem occurs only during cold starts. Generally, this problem occurs when the battery goes weak due to which the starter clutch is not able to rotate fast enough to get engage with face plate. So first of all get that battery checked and revert back to us. We will try to sort out your problem at the best.

I don't remember the exact price of pleasure rollers. It could be something around Rs. 20 to 40 per piece some 2-3 years back when it was replaced. One thing I remember well that some set of aftermarket rollers costed only Rs. 40.. I think they won't last long.

Checked the packing of the original honda rollers.. mrp 366 (cost per piece Rs61) as printed on the label. i got it for 350 i think.. i'd stay away from local/cheap rollers and dont mind paying 350rs for 25000km replacement intervals and piece of mind

The pleasure rollers are same in dimensions and its weight is 12grams (still i need to confirm this). The 12g rollers might be reason my activa feels relaxed without compromising much on torque and acceleration.
Honda's are 11g (again printed on the packing)

Has anyone here tried experimenting with different weight combinations of rollers.
I have.. for a few 100km.. went back to stock, cos these were china/taiwan made (procured from ebay) and i dint want to risk running them longer..went back to stock.
I'll play with the rollers again (this time will try to get the 'sliders' from usa)when i get the clutch shoes n springs replaced after another 4-5 months.

I had used a emery paper of high grit size probably 240 to remove those scratches inside the variator. I did not remove extra material.

Welcome. Good to see that you have maintained your pleasure well by proper replacement of parts. The spark plug is a small issue P-RZ7HC is colder than P-RZ9HC. This could create problems like cold starts, more carbon deposits. Keep check on the condition of new spark plug. If required replaced with recommemded one asap.

                  Get the stock plug.

For the engine oil, its time to switch over to semi-synthetic. Shell Advance AX7 10w40 is very good, far better than Hero or Honda oil. In Indian market we don't have much choice in Jaso MB grades, so you can use Jaso MA or MB. Just stick to the recommemded grade 10w30 (10w40 will give better protection).
Castrol (even motul is supposed to have one, but i havent spotted it yet.. Pinaki has mentioned it in another thread)makes the JASO MB grade.. now in two viscosities.. 10w30 and 20w40.. i have been using the 20w40 for more than a yr now and its good. Better than the JASO MA shell ax5 (which i really liked too) - don't go for the AX7, not really recommended for scooters since its a JASO MA2..stick to ax5 if you have to.

Sorry for the late reply, for some reason I was unable to see these notifications. I cant engage the break lock still. I think its faulty, will check with honda before the warranty expires. Thanks a lot. Its just 15 days remaining to complete 1 year

weird, that you are unable to engage the brake lock.. i am yet to come across a faulty one of all the kinetic honda's and activa's i ve ridden..
is your rear brake adjusted such that there is very little free play at the lever ? If so, it might be tight/difficult to engage the lock.
Anyway do get it checked as its difficult to pinpoint the issue without actually seeing it.. and let us know what went wrong.
btw.. the default warranty is only 1 yr ? I thought it was 2 !? -- Pls check again, the default warranty (i mean without having to pay for the 5yr i.e. extended 3 yr warranty) i believe should be 24000km or 2yrs (whichever is earlier)

Wow, that's news. I was assuming it is 1 year warranty. Yes, you are right, there is actually very little free play for the lever. That could be the issue. I will get it checked and update it this weekend. Thanks again!!

I have been thinking of posting here for long but on seeing here there are many experts i didn't had the courage to post here.

The thing is that my sister has a pleasure which was bought in 2007 and is at 36k kms presently. The scoot has been a pleasure as the name suggested and has never given problems till now. Once the rear tyre has been changed and the front racer has been changed once. The front suspension bushes and the front wheel bearing has been replaced once.

Rest all it has been running like new.

Recently at 35k i had done a major service of the bike. Service includes a head cleaning, valve polishing, head cover thread like in extreme that i have posted, Changed the clutch shoe as it had hardened with time, greased the bendix drive of self, changed the gearbox oil seal and changed the air filter. Bike feels like riding a new bike and has become extremely peppy.

Since the discussion has been going on about rollers then let me tell all that Hero rollers cost Rs.53 each and not Rs.20 as said by others. I had taken these rollers from my friends shop and on opening the roller not even a scratch on them leave alone wearing out. Returned the new rollers and fit back the old rollers.

In rollers grease is never used. Only light grease is applied for the roller to remain in place while fitting the disc. Presently using Motul 10W 30 scooter LE which is a Jaso MB certified oil.

Since my sister is a gentle rider bike has been returning a mileage of 50-55 kpl always and also i take care of it like my bikes. The way my sister rides can be seen as in 35k the rollers are still brand new.

Will post some photos over weekend as presently i am on slow network.

On my Dio '07 model - I haven't yet had the need to touch the front wheel bearings thus far.. only used to remove the wheel and clean and grease the bushing/suspension area around twice a yr @ every service. Probably the bushes need replacing now, cos there is squeaking noise which disappears for a few 100 km on greasing but reappears.
Mine is on the third rear tire (first and second the mrf zappers, third time ceat secura neo) and the second front tire (replaced it a month ago) -- @ 44k + km

Will be changing the clutch shoes and springs in a cpl of months.. its lost a bit of the peppiness, and is felt especially when riding with a pillion.

Glad to know that we honda owners are not paying too much compared to hero.. the honda rollers set as i mentioned earlier cost 61rs a piece but are sold as a set of 6 for Rs366.. at the asc its probably gonna cost more cos of vat.. at a local spares you could get a minimum 10% off.. i got mine for 350rs. -this was around 6 months ago.

Oh nice, i wasnt able to find the motul oil around here.. but anyway i am skeptical of using 10w30 will need the courage to move away from the 20w40 that i have always used and been happy with.

Will post some photos over weekend as presently i am on slow network.
sibunji you are most welcome on this thread. I was really surprised to see your post here, I thought this is our Xtreme thread.

I appreciate your work on pleasure. This is all I had in my mind since a year about head servicing as it is never done before on my activa 2005 model 44k+. I was looking forward on this but that whole covered body is something that was restricting me and I was not confident, though I have experience of opening half engine on bike.
This is what I need. Please share details and pics. Thanks in advance

Now, about the rollers, I was not sure about the its cost. Thanks to you for sharing the exact price. In my activa, rollers, belt, clutch shoes, main spring, clutch springs were all replaced at around 40k kms. The belt had gone hard and had visible cracks. It was first belt which was of Bando made. While the rollers were replaced with pleasure ones which are 12g vs 11g in activa. The mechanic told me pleasure rollers are good quality as compared to honda and they cost less too.

I suggest you to check the weight of your each and every rollers in pleasure when you do your next service. That will tell you how much is the percentage wear they have. This will be helpful to decide whether it need replacement or not.

We all are looking forward for more valuable posts form you.
