Yesterday had been to the asc to get the cone set replaced. On opening up the front end, it was found that only the upper race and ball bearings needed replacement and not the entire coneset. also had the head light bulb holder replaced with oem since i had been using a aftermarket one from swiss since a year and there was a loose connection and beam strength wasn't good (earlier i had a issue that sometimes high beam dint come on and changed the bulb holder but had to use the connector from the original one since the connector on the swiss aftermarket bulb holder dint mate with the wiring harness) - now again i was having the same issue and it turns out the connector was the culprit, so replaced it with oem and everything works fine now. also picked up a tuff up tube (whose prices seem to be rising faster than gold and petrol) since the front tire is due for replacement.
items 1 & 2 are the ball bearings, #4 is the bulb holder and #5 is the 'upper race' which holds the ball bearings in the upper part of the steering stem.(one component of the 'cone set' - full coneset costs approx 360rs.) and labor charges were 150rs.
    total expenses: Rs.829
also inquired about the cost of a full body panel kit for the dio and was told its around 4000!! and was told its difficult for them to get hold of one, and they asked me to visit the local parts market at ram kote, hyderabad. 7 yrs ago the entire kit sold for around 1400rs!
Dio doesn't have telescopic suspension, how does it have a cone set?

telescopic suspension has nothing to do with cone set. 'cone set' is a locally used name like 'band aid' for adhesive bandages.
cone set usually contains the ball bearings and races or 'cup' to hold the ball bearings in the steering stem of a bike/scooter, different bikes come with different configurations/sizes of these parts.
this the complete 'cone set' part for the older activa and dios: (dont ask why the price was scratched out, that's a diff story )

I was able to find an older parts manual for the SCV100 Lead, i.e. the older Dio (102cc) in our Indian market. some parts may not match with the Dio sold in India, like for e.g. ignore the carburetor since its totally different, and the air filter assembly is also different (the one shown in this manual is actually from the revamped 102cc dio with the viscous type air filter, while the ones prior to 2009/10 had a dry paper type filter)
This can be used a reference for sourcing parts/service. It can be downloaded from Dio-102cc.pdf

I think diesel engine oil will ruin your engine because it has detergent in it which causes wash out of carbon deposited@ piston rings & will make the compression weak

                Hi,

Got Honda DIO - Matte Grey (2013) a week ago. I am not thinking about HIDs for now, but I will be in the future maybe after I'm done with the warranty services.

Was wondering whether the Philips Halogen Bulb consumes the same power as the stock bulb, can someone confirm that?

And my stock battery is around 3Amh or maybe 4Amh (correct me if I am wrong), do you guys think if this can handle two StreetGlow UnderBody Neon/Leds rods? I want to make sure that my battery juices doesn't get drained so fast.

However, in future I am planning to upgrade the battery as well, but for now I need to figure something out.

                Cheers!

                  Its a nice pic. Liked
If you are upgrading to Philips which is rated 35/35W then there wont be issues. But if you want to upgrade to 55/60W then it depends on capacity of alternator. For this mod check other 'bike lighting threads'. I am sure you may get help from there.

Your battery might be of a 4Ah capacity. Confirm with the user manual.
Those neon/ leds will work good because they have very low power consumption. (Just few Watts)

                    Yes I agree with this.
It will be rally a nice comby with the new matte black Dio.
S the power consumption will almost the same as the stock bulb.
                    Go for it !!!

i has been 2.5 months now and the oil is performing really well even in this peak summer heat in hyderabad. there has been no over heating, sluggish behavior, 'roughness', starting trouble and i am really impressed with this oil. It has been around 1600km now and the oil looks like it will hold good for at least another 1000km
I highly recommend this oil for gear less scoots..
Hello can you help me to get a full faced helmet that fits in the under seat storage of dio dlx?

i don't think the new dio can take in a standard full face helmet in the under seat storage [the old dio can't]. you better take the scoot when you go to buy a helmet and check it yourself at the shop.
