Hello Justwheels! Welcome to xBhp. What you experience with your bike is completely normal. I too feel the stiffening of the engine once i approach 80 kmph and go beyond but i've never hesitated to cut down acceleration if i'm in the mood to zip and the bike has always complied! I've touched 100 without any protest from the bike and it has been great.Originally posted by justwheels View PostHi Guys, My first post on Xbhp, so I m excited.
I own a Gladi SS 2009. I have driven it over 12000 km and I am quite happy with the performance. But there is something I would like to discuss. How is the high speed riding on your Gladi's. I mean I always feel the engine becomes very throaty when pushing above 75-80kmph. I know its once in a blue moon to drive that fast but still. I eventually come down to 60kmph. Is it normal or not normal?
Whats the max speed you guys have touched?
Too bad mate. Hope you enjoy your new ride!Originally posted by Sumondatta View PostGladiator Sold.
It is not a rev happy bike. Had to do PITA to go over 65KM/h. Bike seems very sluggish. Seems smoke coming out of silencer during hard revving.
Going for Apache Hyperedge. So long yamaha.Right now, 11 Bhp at 7500 Rpm.

Yes Madhav, i intend to use only low beam for city riding. I did some reading up about HID's before the purchase and i read that colour temperatures upto only 6000K are legally permitted(on www.**********.in if i remember right). Above that, the lights are cop magnets. This is one thing that i'm worried about because the light i bought said 8000K. I'm sure there are many other vehicles which particularly have more than 6000K temperature lights. Does anyone know if there is really any law which specifies/prohibits/limits the usage and intensity of these lights?Originally posted by madhav krishna View PostWaiting for the pics. I would recommend/request you to use the low beam while riding in city. These HID's cause a lot of glare which is a major reason for the accidents.

Well yes there is a such law. But I dont think that our cops are that well informed to differentiate between a 6000K & a 8000K oneOriginally posted by Sharkbite View PostYes Madhav, i intend to use only low beam for city riding. . They just have an impression that the vehicles with HID's should be fined. Sometimes they ignore you and sometimes they dont. Its just a matter of luck.

Hmmm.. Ok. Fortunately, the light i bought has a Halogen low beam and the high beam is Xenon. Yesterday i took the bike out in the evening to get a feel of the light and i felt it was REALLY bright! But my bike's battery had grown weak since the past couple of weeks and i belive the Xenon sucked the remaining juice out of the battery, so much so that it stoppped glowing! I've been planning on getting an Amaron battery installed. I've had Exide as my battery from the beginning. Amaron should be good i guess? And i'll take/post the pics after getting a new battery.Originally posted by madhav krishna View PostWell yes there is a such law. Yamaha Gladiator SS Black/Red 2009 - Braking problems
Hey Gladiators!!
I am new to xBhp here. But i own a Gladiator SS Black/Red 2009 model. I have done 16000 Kms on my bike. Since January this year after a particular service of the bike, Am having serious braking issues. Prior to the servicing in January, there were no braking issues at all. The bike would stop properly when i wanted to even at good speeds. But now when i brake suddenly(speed is 50-60), i get screeching sound, i lose the balance and the rear of the bike slides.
I went for a servicing last wekend and I told the mechanic that there is a braking issue, most probably related to the disc according to my perception. The mechanic told me after servicing the bike that it is related to brake oil getting depleted and he said that he had fixed it. But today morning i experienced the same kind of unstability under braking. Any ideas what could be causing this unstablity? Wheels misalignment?, Rear Tyre needs to be changed?, or is there realy a problem with the brakes of the bike? Please help!!

^^ Welcome to xBhp, comrade.
Your bike's problem seems strange. Braking is top notch in Gladiator. I can't think of any reason why this would be happening. Try taking it to another dealer/mechanic and get it analysed or get some expert advice from the many wise folks here.Right now, 11 Bhp at 7500 Rpm.

Guys, i've been having problems with the HID that i got installed on my bike. Apparently, the Xenon(high beam) has stopped glowing now. When i switch to high beam, the light flickers for a while and then dies out. And the Halogen(low beam) seems to have a mind of it's own, sometimes it glows and sometimes it doesn't. Initially the Xenon shone like the sun, the first time i tried it after fitment, but now i've begun to feel it's an investment gone bad. What should i do? Ideas/Suggestions?Right now, 11 Bhp at 7500 Rpm.

Simple logic, Ur discharging rate is higher than the charging rate or might be also due to a kaupt battery. You should check your battery first.Originally posted by Sharkbite View PostGuys, i've been having problems with the HID that i got installed on my bike. Guys,
Please suggest the braking pattern I should follow when riding in speeds of above 60 kph with a pillion..
Right now all i do is lock both the brakes to bring down speed and still feel less confident in the braking abilities of the bike. I still feel, the bike is meant to brake and stop more quicker but not happening the way expected.
If the front fork is loose will it hamper the braking abilities not localized to a gladiator but asking in general.

Yes it did seem strange to me. I regularly get the bike serviced every 3 months/2000 KMs by a trusted local mechanic. Prior to the servicing done in January, i never faced this issue. I had a couple of close shaves when trying to stop the bike from hitting other vehicles from behind. and then once i hit one car in the rear under sudden braking. The bike just floated when i applied the brakes.Originally posted by Sharkbite View Post^^ Welcome to xBhp, comrade.

Could it be becoz of my braking pattern? I apply both the front and rear brakes albeit rear brake a bit earlier than the front one.
Please advise.
Thanks
