  • Coming to the Bangy guys' traffic problem, I was once sitting on my bike at a signal stop in Pune. As there was 100 sec left till the green light, I turned off the lights and engine . As I was standing in front line, a cop came to me and said why is your lights and engine off? Can't you see other vehicles with their lights on?? He pointed to a car beside me. I said why should I waste my battery when I know the signal is red for another 80 sec. He said this is not the way to stop with your lights off.

    • @iamvik : i do agree that the questions can be exasperating , but not everyone is well versed in the department , so what i'm sayin is , rather than thinking of them as dumb to not know even that , try to consider this possibility ...

The question like what is the best tyre pressure maybe due to conflicting information . like for example the manual and tyre specs read 28psi front and 33psi rear , but the head mech at the SVC told me to maintain 35psi at the rear for indian road conditions to avoid punctures , now whom to trust ?

so what to do but ask around to get a better prospective , i would think of it like taking a second opinion from a doctor . we care about our machines , so if we dunno something why not get it clarified , i think we can spare a moment to answer these questions , however amateur they maybe seem to be .
People ask me , why are you cribbing about the BHP ? to them I say "MORE is never ENOUGH" xbhp.com

FZ16 headlight assembly with projector and angel eye for sale .

I think I was very clear about my post NOT being a rant. I clearly mentioned that it is because of surprise at people's carelessness or whatever be the reason that they don't read the manual.

If somebody asks the question, "What is the correct tyre pressure, because the manual says one thing and the mechs say another?", I agree that it is because of confusion. But if somebody just asks "What is the tyre pressure" because of not having read the manual, then what should one think?

The consequences, for example: A motorcycle owner does not know how to remove the side panel because he has never bothered to read the manual (Which I assume has clear directions) because of sheer carelessness or arrogance ("I already know everything about the bike because my friend has one/I've read all about it, etc.). One day he is forced to remove it and in the process, breaks it. Cost: Rs. 500+. Entirely avoidable.

To sum up, my post wasn't about what may be posted on this forum or another. Forums are for discussion and mutual help and I and most other members are glad to contribute and help fellow members. My post was about self-reliance and awareness. The concept of "better safe than sorry" comes to mind.

          Hmm...thanks
It's not what you ride, it's your attitude that counts.

dude i think ur putting a lil emphasis on grammar here , the thought behind the question maybe different ... , no offence bro , jus kiddin .

BTW: the side panel removal screw is different , so wen it's not given along with the tool kit , it could have raised a few questions .

the third bold sentence : you hit the nail on the head there dude , and also "better safe than sorry" , so wat better way to do that other than ask around ? ...

jus my thoughts bro ... peace and out !

            • Talking of tool kits, why do we have nothing to adjust the "adjustable" rear suspension
C-spanner should have been supplied in my opinion.
Just another reason to take it to SVC, and part with more $$'s

              • ^^ you can get it adjusted during a service. i dont think they should charge for it.

That's right jd.........had mine adjusted the day of collection as I knew what setting I wanted.

the point was it should have been in the tool kit, then you could adjust it when your out riding and find your personal setting.........instead of svc...try it out....svc....try it out svc

                  again just my opinion
jd........thanks for the quick reply bud

the bike responded amazing at high rpms...as i said kept up with the rippers of the group....while returning average spped was round 70-80kmph over a 80km stretch...was with the group the whole time never lost out...am very satisfied.......little bit of vibes but that is cause bike is nearin 6k kms and hasnt been serviced since 3k...overall a 7/10...while coming down i filled petrol and well the aerodynamics changed drastically...the same curves that i was slicing thrg in the mrng were like butter...the weight of the petrol was really a bane ....
Even i kept the bike around speeds of 70+.....
but the bike wouldnt go past 90kmph although we were two light weight persons...
the clutch had been adjusted by the svc not more than 10 days ago....

so what could be the reason for vibrations above 80kmph....i simply dont understand...

Yeah...the fuel makes some difference on the corners....even i went through some ghats....was better when the fuel was low...
