              • Strange Problem

My bike has run around 3000kms , i had not taken it to the limits until yesterday, I made a run to check the top speed ,i was able to go unit 90 thats it it refused to move above that, and the strange problem is if i rip the bike for 5 min i get a feeling like the petrol is empty the bike starts jerking but if i run at around speeds of 60-70 the bike runs fine.
Can any one point out the solution for my problem.
I had my service a week back , based on your suggestions i will get to the service centre and have a talk with them..

Maybe you are running on a lean mixture.. get your air to fuel mixture adjusted at the service center.. make sure they dont make it too rich either otherwise you might end up making frequent trips to the petrol bunk.

                    • Hi Guys,

Well I need help this time around very badly as I guess SVC Guys at Delhi Scooters have really done a bad job of 4th service. Before 4th service of my bike, it returned a healthy average of around 45 kmpl and on open road I did 120 km/hr easily. There was no problem of bike getting shut often and long starts. However there was some strange problem of Bike getting wayward if I took a sharp turn be it left or right. I thought wheel balancing wud do the trick so told them to do so but was shocked to learn that it costs Rs. 850/-!! however after service the bike's performance is pathetic!! It takes a really long time to start and shuts very often, Average is below 40 and top speed barely goes to 110km/hr!! and even after paying 850 bucks the waywardness of bike is more prominent!! And earlier I had shown them some problem with fuel metre because of which I had to tow my bike four times but these guys have flatly denied that for 3 months now and even after showing this to their supervisior they still haven't replaced it and these shameful guys still say that they need to check it!! well please advice of how should I go about it since its really frustating by now. The bike is totally ruined for me. Haven't driven it for more than 200 kms because of the problems now. Please advice as I am really fed up visiting to SVC and take their excuses and want yamaha guys to intervene now else it would be better to sell it with a heavy heart!! Those idiots at SVC Delhi scooters have made life hell for me....so please help...

                        • Hey guys... wanted to ask a question about FZ-S.

I had seen an FZ-S - brand new (the garland from the initiation 'puja' was still on it) - and the color coding looked like the yellow streak model, except that the yellow portions were done in green, including the rim stripes.

After I reached home, I checked out Yam's website to find out if that color was showroom delivered or he got it done like that. Could not find anything there on the site.

And today, I saw the same color on an FZ-S (and this one had 'Yam Factory Shop', along with their contact details written on its number plate). Just checked the site again and I still dont see that color on it. Is this some new limited edition model or is it a huge co-incidence that both guys went for the exact same paint mod?

                          PS: It looked real sweet

If it shows factory shop, it means that the showroom would offer them the new colors and when you get the bike delivered, they spray paint it. The model is not default.

Nothing to worry about mate!! You shouldn't have done the wheel alignment at the SVC as they would recommend it even if you say you 'feel' the wheels are not right.

I suggest go to a good mechanic, get him to tune the bike or there is a detailed bike tuning manual at www.bikadvice.in. Maybe improper tuning might be the problem for you. I also get 45-50 mileage without any tuning so your bike must be great on economy. I had given my fz for the 3rd and 4th service at a private authorized workshop and they do work efficiently and it just costs you 50rs extra for free services.(I think so. or maybe the oil change costs so much). DONT EVER GIVE UR BIKE TO YAMAHA'S SVC.

Regarding the fuel meter, I experience that problem sometimes. There is just 1 solution. If you are in reserve, reset the trip meter and go exactly 30-35km and fill the petrol. The SVC haven;t figured out a solution for the fuel meter problem.
