Has anyone tuned their bike themselves? I couldn't find the fuel screw, so i tuned the idle to 1k RPM when idle, before it was around 2K @idle, but now my bike keeps stalling very frequently, i guess it's too lean...
What's the optimum setting at idle? and i have no idea where the fuel screw is located.

Engine's running lean.Originally posted by sree_unicorn View PostYes.1100 rpm in warm condition..other problem is needle not getting steady in one point its fluctuating between 1100 and 1000 unable to measure properly even with heated engine condition
Applicable for every bike with a carb, but its complex so take extreme care and caution.Originally posted by nj_gamer View PostI'm not sure if i explained my doubt clearly, but i was referring to this site:

Is it recommended to do the same for the unicorn?

Being an iridium user, I'd say that they'r not worth the cost. And mileage increase will be there only if riding at WOT, else they're useless and gives mileage below 25Kmpl.Originally posted by sinnerz2000 View PostDo iridium spark plugs increase mileage?
Bro, always keep the idle at 1.5k hot. Else the engine will stall in traffic.Originally posted by nj_gamer View PostHas anyone tuned their bike themselves? How did you manage at such a low RPM?My bike just keeps stalling if it isn't more than 1k... Probably i didn't tune the bike when the engine was hot enough..

I guess my bike's engine wasn't hot enough while i was tuning it at idle... thanks for the tip bro

Oil Centrifugal filter change
Hi
Is anyone aware of Oil Centrifugal Filter Change.
Any Do It Yourself available >?
If done in Honda SVC, how much it will cost.
As per the manual, Centrifugal Oil filter must be changed around 20,000Kms. Not sure of the exact KMs reading.

41K KM and its still runnng fine with me..with an average of 50km/l.Most of the honda spares except the "suspension area" will last atleast three times more than company says..And in case of the oil filter-the mannual says clean every 12K-not replaceOriginally posted by BlackPanther View PostHi

I have always kept it at 1k myself when i service it local mechanic or service guy increase it to 1.5k but it becomes more noisy and peppy so i bring it down and it does not stall for me, as i said before once heated and settled down i have seen it idling below 1k tooOriginally posted by nj_gamer View Post@Drifter

I have a spoke model 2006 uni, Recently due to a rear wheel flat i had to open the tyre myself & fit it back.
I observed that it is quite inconvinient to fit it back due to the following reasons
1. the 4 rubber damping bushes keep falling off, they r not fixed like in oher bikes.
2.the rear brake rod screw thread has a smaller pitch than other bikes & when removing it in unforseen circumstances (tyre puncture ) it is quite jam & the thread gets damaged after screw removal
I have a 12 yr old cd100 & never experienced this before on it.
Has anyone experienced this on uni?

I dont think centrifugal oil filter needs to be changed. u can clean it ( the periphery where the worn iron particles stick) & refit.
U can replace the oil strainer though(at clutch side below inside engine ), but it can also be cleaned easily since its only a fine wire mesh filter.

1. Those blocks of rubber you refer to is called the cush-drive . I don't think they are fixed in any bikes I've seen , but just loosely placed there just like that .Originally posted by srpsinu View PostI have a spoke model 2006 uni, Recently due to a rear wheel flat i had to open the tyre myself & fit it back.

2. Wipe clean & grease the thread before fitting . Yups, cd100 is a mucho easier-to-service bike by yourself and few tools, they don't make it like those anymore
.
Yes , both to be cleaned in petrol and refitted (as per honda manual) . Check correct operation of oil-thru hole in the centrifuge filter after cleaning .Originally posted by srpsinu View PostI dont think centrifugal oil filter needs to be changed. u can clean it ( the periphery where the worn iron particles stick) & refit.

I beg to differ but in cd 100 even if u pull them out u cant. but in uni they fall off pretty easy. u have to put ur finger on them to fix the wheel.Originally posted by Pinaki View Post1. regarding the thread if u observe closely they are of a narrower pitch ( may be designed for fine adjustment ) than found in most bikes & that makes them particularly vulnerable to thread damage

If you can't just pull them off on your CD100 wheel with little effort , there is a problem .. replace those rubber blocks, if the rubber's gone hard etc the cush-drive will not work well . It's normal for them to fall off when the wheel is unmounted .. there is no nut-bolt or adhesive etc keeping it there . This is the CD100's hub with and without it ..Originally posted by srpsinu View PostI beg to differ but in cd 100 even if u pull them out u cant. but in uni they fall off pretty easy. u have to put ur finger on them to fix the wheel.

keep it in between 1200 -1400 when hot. at 1k the engine is very stressed and about to stall.Originally posted by drifter View PostI have always kept it at 1k myself when i service it local mechanic or service guy increase it to 1.5k but it becomes more noisy and peppy so i bring it down and it does not stall for me, as i said before once heated and settled down i have seen it idling below 1k too

i think, if u clean the carburettor and adjust the AFM you can idle at a lower rpm, but not good for the engine.Originally posted by nj_gamer View Post@Drifter
