regarding the thread if u observe closely they are of a narrower pitch ( may be designed for fine adjustment ) than found in most bikes & that makes them particularly vulnerable to thread damage
I just use one drop of fevi quick
.And once fixed it gets detached due to the shocks eventually while riding

Well iam not an expert on this..but when i asked the mech he says it will not be effective unless u goi for a coil rewind..and more over whats wrong with the 35w philips ???it produces ample light for night..Originally posted by vivekarizma View Postis anyone using a 55/60w bulb in Unicorn?Mine has the stock philips 35w headlamp and im planning to change it to the above said spec!please throw some light on itIt's better in the WINDS>

The electric output is only 35w. So even if u put in a 55/60w bulb, it'll glow only at 35w. The only advantage is when u flash. It flashes with DC, so the full power of 55/60w turns on ALONG with the glowing 35w too. Super bright flash!Originally posted by vivekarizma View Postis anyone using a 55/60w bulb in Unicorn?Mine has the stock philips 35w headlamp and im planning to change it to the above said spec!please throw some light on it
If u want 55/60w running for normal usage, then as Shyam Narayan mentioned, u'll have to get the coil rewound to get the higher output. This is because the Unicorn runs on AC electricals. U'll also have to work with a bigger capacity battery too, resulting in a bigger alternator to charge the battery as fast or faster than the discharge rate.
Seems like a lot of work!

thanks Shyam & Prajwal..yeah that seems to be a lot of work involved..since im using a 55/60w headlamp in my zma, i find it hard while riding with the 35w bulb of my unicorn.but sure, the stock bulb gives good light which no other 35w bulb can offer!cheers

rewinding the coil with more turns will fix this.. converting to dc will give continous light output at all rpm, a higher rated battery may also be needed if u convert to dc..so its not a plug and play mod..Originally posted by vivekarizma View Postis anyone using a 55/60w bulb in Unicorn?Mine has the stock philips 35w headlamp and im planning to change it to the above said spec!please throw some light on it
I've upgraded to 9aH battery 2days ago when my stock battery gave up. DC conversion is on the cards.
yes..stock lamps are good, only problem is its not continuous since its on acOriginally posted by Shyam Narayan View PostWell iam not an expert on this..but when i asked the mech he says it will not be effective unless u goi for a coil rewind..and more over whats wrong with the 35w philips ???it produces ample light for night..Last edited by fayad555; 12-04-2011, 04:35 PM.tђє รเlєภt รt๏г๓

Stick to the zapper if you are riding more on well maintained roads...Originally posted by meethen View PostCan you suggest me which brand treys are suitable for front & rear wheel?
Thanks in advance
But if you go off road occassionally SIRAC is best...check out opnions from D-monster/C-geo grop users also .I felt ceat is a good option..for a balanced on-off road trail...It's better in the WINDS>
