I always thought alloys were a lot lighter than the spoke rims. That is the only reason i was contemplating on getting it done. Thought the extra weight of the wider tires would be compensated by the lighter alloys. No intention of putting tubeless ones. And personally I am fine with the way the spokes look. My mechanic says alloys are prone to getting bent and that they are more difficult to maintain/repair. Thanks for the info. Really helped me out. Now to check for the tire prices.

This being india where there are as many potholes as a politician's statue, the alloys need to be strengthened to take the impact. All of that strengthening takes its toll on the weight. Even then, they are easier to bend than a spoke wheel. And more difficult to repair the bend in alloys than a spoke ! Your mech's correct.
Lets me know if there anything else you need help on

Buddy,
My friend recently bought CB unicorn. He wants to fill the rear tyre with the liquid that helps to get rid of Puncture. I went with him to the two svc and both have different opinions. One told to remove the tube and put the liquid in the tyre and another recommended to put the liquid inside the tube.
which is the correct method??? Please advice asap!!!

Guys i'm thinking to switch to Honda Unicorn from my cbz xtreme. What kind of difference am i going to face in case of acceleration, top end, handling?
CBZ x's acceleration till 100km/h is damn fast i mean when my bike is at 80km/h if i give a slight twist it reaches to 100km/h very fast. How does unicron responds in such a situation??
I'm tired of vibrations in my cbz mostly handlebar & footpegs. How does unicorn performs??
What do you guys think?

Doesn't the CB Unicorn already come with tubeless tyres (MRF Zappers) ??Originally posted by wildest View PostBuddy,

The MRF Nylogrip Zapper tyres can resist punctures to some extent and even if a nail manages to puncture the tyre, you can continue to ride the bike without any problems until you get it fixed.Signals which are timed for 50 Kmph are also timed for 100 Kmph :)

the rear tyre has got tuffup tubes..the puncture will get sealed automatically by the liquid in the tube..may be u can put the same tuff up tube in the front tyre also..Originally posted by wildest View PostBuddy,

unicorn is slower than xtreme wrt acceleration..topspeed is same or slightly higher.. u may consider the dazzler/fz as it is lighter and got slightly more power than cb unicorn..Originally posted by ShahriarXtreme View PostGuys i'm thinking to switch to Honda Unicorn from my cbz xtreme. I feel same way about unicorn which i purchased 3 months back this day. its giving 54 to 57 kms when i ride it careful, when i ride it with out a care ,then i get 42kms or even less.no problems of any kind. there is some low hiss from chain case, but i removed it and then no sound! then i put it back again.its done only 1400kms now & 2nd service is over.Originally posted by cyclone2k View PostGood decision choosing and creating a thread for THE Honda Unicorn!
It is a superb machine, no headaches (other than some MotoGP'ers and unscrupulous people), but for initial days, just be in limits, upto 1k, i.e. under 50kmph mark.. Keep it clean, i.e. wash-out mud/ sand, as often as possible.. otherwise, it might create rust.
its raining here in bangalore daily & keeping bike free of mud , sand is awfully difficult. i keep it covered whenever possible and lubricate drive chain with castrol 90 gear oil whenever possible. i am determined to avoid going for service except for mandatory ones.
My idea is to retain new bike feel and quality for as long as possible!
undoubtedly, this is the best bike i have ever had till now! i tried out p150, hh hunk, hh cbz extreme and considered yamaha ( yzf R1 or 15 ? i mean the 150cc with two lights upfront.) ultimately, after a frustratingly long wait of two months (while my funds were melting away and my patience as well, i even deliberated buying hh glamour ,available off the shelf.
fortunately i got call from honda showroom, i could have my bike if i paid cash the same day.
since the booking amount of rs 1000 was adjustable towards full payment, i took the chance and i am happy as on date.

Hi! Can you pl let me know for certain if alloy wheels ,(MAG wheels),are really lighter than spoke? doesnt seem so to me. I do know magnesium alloy is lighter, but to me spokes seem lighter. and also can mrf zapper tires on present unicorn , be replaced with tubeless tires? and the advantage if any and the cost? thank you.Originally posted by sourav2688 View PostThis being india where there are as many potholes as a politician's statue, the alloys need to be strengthened to take the impact.
