    • Hi everyone my bike is Dec'04 model, recently I was riding without engine oil for quite a few days but now I check for engine oil every 15 days as it drinks oil like hell, now the problem is that my mechanic in Pune has told me to change the block, piston and front pipes in next 2 months, now I would like to know firstly is there any way out rather than changing these things, if no then what would be the total PHATKA? Or should I go for a new bike which one?
I know I have SCREWED it up big time.

      Thank you

      • Where all Wing Riders gone?. Why all became so silent like our Unicorns?

        • hi guys i don't actually own a unicorn but had test ridden it since i am going to buy a bike this week around after being so busy.

Now so i thought i will read few pages i see that people are having a issue that the bike stops in between even if you have full fuel and kick becomes free.

Now i own a Honda eterno and i am having the same issue my kick goes free and after some waiting i have to pull the choke and it works again.
I have changed 4 clutch plates due to this a whole revamp of quite a lot of things and still this thing remains. So is this a overall problem with all Honda vehicles ?

            • adi231189- Dude i own a Honda Unicorn for 1 and a half years now. Clocke 21000 odd kms in it. Not one Time have i experienced that problem. ANd yes, i would kick-start my bike frequently even though a button can do that for me!
Thank Mr.Pfeiffer.. My dreams of owning a Four-Wheeled Beamer is halved now! :)

              • my bike has clocked 11K+
                am experiencing strange problem
as soon as i go above 50kmph in 5th gear
suddenly engine gets very rough, also i think there's some loss in power

i consulted one mechanic he said that valves need to be tightened
is this a common problem, or valves are supposed to be tightened at every service
i always get it serviced @ ASS only

                please, suggest

What happens to the liquid in the tuff-up rear tube after a puncture or two?
I have driven for 20 Km with a 3 inch nail in it (the puncture needed vulcanization eventually), and have pulled out countless smaller nails since.
I am planning a 400 Km trip ahead on Saturday. Think the tuff-up tube will do its job?
I asked you folks the above query. I had then planned only for a 460 Km trip from Manipal to Hosur. I went on to Chennai from Hosur. The trip of 776 Km took me 17 hours. Some notes on my Unicorn's performance:
                        • It rides like a dream at 60-70 Kmph. Beyond that the engine feels like a strained/angry cat on the highway, but it sure holds steady at 100 Kmph.
                        • It handles tight curves on ghat roads pretty well.
                        • I was able to ride all along with lots of luggage tied on by elastic rope with hooks on either end. Bless the unicorn's XL seat area.
                        • Overtaking is a problem area and a few more HPs in the Unicorn should help. I was a sitting duck overtaking trucks doing 70 Kmph. I could muster up 90 Kmph with some effort for the overtaking, while impatient SUVs and sedans lined up behind me, waiting for me to complete my effort!! It was tricky on the NH at times...

All in all it was a comfortable trip. And no, I went without buying a spare tube/clutch cable/headlight bulb. I got lucky perhaps?

                        • my uni got its original power (pick-up) back.
ASS guys tuned it for better milage, i guess should have got more than 60 with that tuning.

Got it tuned again and its happy riding

                          • @locusjag as you said it was bit difficult to go above 70, i'll suggest try some tuning.
you may end up getting milage a bit less.

my Uni gives 48-50 KMPL and reaches 80 just like that with pillion rider, (85+60)Kg

                            • Hey guyz
                              hw u all doin
                              ok
i had recently sourced out genuine stock alloy wheeles for my 2005 unicorn
however the stock disc cannot be fitted in them as u may know
                              can i purchase/install karizm's disc plate instead of new unicorn's ?
will i have to change the disc pads or any other modification with either of the two discs
is karizma's disc equally reliable as uni;s own disc or it may create some problem ?
The Automotive batteries are designed to work best in a typical short start-stop fashion.
So to increase the life of your automobile battery, blow the horn and flash the pass light in a quick start stop fashion instead of a conitnuous long horn blow or flash light continuous on!!
And obviously don't stretch the self start far too long.

                              • Guys,

                                I have a query.

Is the handlebar of the Unicorn 1" or 1.25" ? I am asking since I am looking to buy a handlebar cellphone/gps mount for it and I am travelling at the moment and I am not anywhere near my bike to measure it.

Can someone measure it and let me know?
