  • Guys cant the carb be tuned till the 4th service?? Coz I have recently serviced my uni (3rd) and I was personally there along with the mechanic..while he removed the spark plug, it was whitish..so i presume that the mixture was lean(meant for mileage) I asked him to tune the card so that there would be a balanced mixture..but he said it will be locked untill the 4th service , it is done so that the carbon can be accumulated...is it true??

and I have this problem in my uni..while shifting from 3rd to 2nd ..I find it a bit hard..I depress the clutch for 1.5/2 secs and then slowly shift it down..do any of you guys have a similar problem??..I asked the mechanic to check hit but he says its perfectly alright what to do???

i'll definitely post some pics later.....i'm yet to do some job to make it new....:P :P

apart from refined engine i felt almost zero vibration till 8k rpm...thats the max i revved.
Front brake is same, but rear is better....
          Handling is slightly better
I thought cornering is superb on CBZ X but in case of unicorn its too better...requires almost no effort....
pick up was definitely better in cbz x....
but unicorn doesnt have slow pick up as people used to say....but wind resistance is very less,no vibration feeling gives the rider a feeling that its going slower unless one looks at the speedometer....

thats it....i yet to ride it more to know it more....

                      Guys!

Have some problem with my uni , not exactly a problem..but I just need some info..Gear shifting : at which rpm u guys usually shift the gears??..I do it at 4-4.5, some times at 5..for which I get a mileage of 48-50..

I love riding my uni after my office..there is this road for a stretch of 4kms..where i rip my uni till 100-110..and I seem to have a drastic mileage drop..so, I wasnt sure whether someone fiddled with my petrol / it was bcoz of my ride..went today to AHS and got my uni checked up..he did a test drive and according to that it was giving 60kmpl! WTF :O..i was shocked..but the way he rode it was completely different..he was changing gears at very less rpm..and riding at speeds just above where the engine doesnt make noise!..I asked him to let me ride.so that he will know the way I ride it and was shifting at 4.5 and using engine breaking while downshifting ( did not blip while downshifting)..he even changed the idle rpm to around 1..while it was supposed to be somewhere around 1.4..contradiction!..

The point is do I have to ride like he did to attain such mileage..at a point, I felt I was riding the right way and pretty happy about it..but now I'm confused!

                      • upshift at about 3.5- 4.0 Rpm and dont drag the bike at any gear less than 2.5rpm, dont do engine braking and you should be getting a good mileage.

                          Will engine braking reduces mileage?

Hi. I too have a 20 months old Uni.. When i ripped my bike the mileage dropped to 32. The max speed was just above 115.. Now i have not driven my bike past 70 for the past 3 months.

Shifting gears at low RPMs and also trying to ride at the lowest possible RPM in the top gear.. Currently getting a mileage of 55-58 all week long.. Try not to rip your bike daily.. Not using Unicorn often these days as i Rewarded Myself with a Suzuki..
